Still amazes me how these "restaurants" can still continue to operate with all the competition that there is in Queens, especially in Flushing.

They come and go. I've lived in Flushing for my entire life, shitty restaurants like these don't last more than 6-12 months.
Best food in Flushing? My god. More like flush it down the toilet.
Truth is, many of them don't, it's just a matter of time before it falls apart completely. Most of the restaurants from Kitchen Nightmares have closed down between then and now - including this one.

I always thought the word "gyro" was pronounced "yee-ro" but even the Greek people in this are pronouncing it in what I thought was the American way. How the hell is it pronounced?

The correct way to pronounce it is "yee-ro". The greeks in the video probably pronounced it gyro for convinience.
It's yeero, sometimes they just don't commit to pronouncing it correctly as sometimes I guess the Greek pronunciation confuses people.
My family and I would choke on words if we said guy-ro/ji-ro. And I've never heard someone in Greece ever say it with that pronunciation, mostly because it's based off the actual word for "rotation" in Greek.
In New York it's pronounced gyro. Hard g. In Tarpon springs Florida where a huge greek population live it's pronounced yee-ro
