the symbolism with steven destroying the statue of himself, and everyone else crumbling. without steven, everyone else would fall apart. and with him wanting to destroy his monster but deep down knowing that he has to love every part of himself. i'm sure i missed a few but this is an amazing animatic. well done! 💖💖💖

I love this oh my god,
This is the only animatic that has ever made me feel chills or get invested in what's going on, It just never really happens and it did for this, Also how Steven punched the statue directly (or near so) where his gem would be just made the animatic more emotionally impactful. Amazing work!

The moment he punched his own statue I understood much better why he corrupted himself, and felt like such a bad person at the end of future. He as a kid was someone no one wanted to change, and so with getting older he did change but didn’t want to let anyone down by expressing that. He called himself seen as an “angel” because back then he was thought of as perfect, and to not disappoint anyone who could think differently of that now, he hid his feelings and horrible actions. Pushing them away as if they never existed. So he could keep being everyone’s perfect little angel.

@@sweetpeaches1 Well consider the episode "Mindful Education". It's centered all around facing the situation head on. Then in Future Steven basically avoids everything and does the complete opposite resulting in him imploding. Not to mention the songs "Still not giving up" and "Change your mind".

Other than the fact that it's about Steven Universe and the whole animation is absolutely amazing, something that makes this even more meaningful to me is the song. The lady's singing and the general tone of the song reminds me of when I was a really little child from around ages three to nine/ten I had bad anxiety at night and my mom would play calming music on the radio in my room then lay in bed with me and my brother until we fell asleep. and this song really reminds me of that music.
I'm glad steven got the therapy he needed, I know what's it's like to go through something like this

I wish this was what happened in 'I am my monster'. I loved the ending of Steven Universe, but I think this would have made it more enjoyable.
When he punched his statue, the younger and original statue, and it started to crack, I cried. And not like a two tears cry, i mean like *sobbing* i am still crying while writing this. No animatic has touched me as much as this one. The symbolism and the ending its just so...powerful. I love it

I remember when this was leaked and I was unsure whether we’d see it or not in the show or if it was getting scrapped. Then we did and I was a little sad that Rebecca didn’t sing the official version.
I almost cried because I miss that show so much! The whole show made me laugh, cry, feel fear, genuine feelings throughout the WHOLE SHOW! Now I'm going to cry and watch it again.. Let me know if you felt the same :) ✌🏼️

I think the ending of Steven saving himself is not that normal.
Here's why: The entire original series Steven did nothing but solve the problems of others. He didn't pay any attention to himself, and when the time came and he felt bad, no one tried to truly understand him and help. This led to his psychosis.
In the final they showed the right thing that only the support of close people and specialists helps a person to get out of a deplorable situation (person is usually unable to help himself on his own).
Of course, ending came out very crumpled, but the message is clear.
It's cool that Rebecca Sugar sang this song Rebecca has such a marvelous singing voice
This brings happy and sad emotions, him.earning to love himself would have been a better ending.

To me, the part at the beginning is a wonderful symbolism of how easy it is to love those around you while hating yourself, and how sometimes we hurt our loved ones by hurting ourselves.
I don’t know if that’s what the purpose of that part was, but that’s what I got from it, and it really spoke to me.

This is such a fabulous animation! I think Future should have had this side to it as well since steven was mainly blaming himself for everything and not being able to accept that he could do what he wants and that no one is in danger any longer by a massive threat. Loved it! Stay awesome!

I’ve watched many animatics about the ending of the show, and none have truly made me feel so deeply as this one. The whole rollercoaster of Stevens fear of what he grew up as just being a fragile facade. About how in this illustration it literally fell apart in front of his eyes. His hope for a future where it was out in the open and his friends still accepting him. And the shocking moment between his human side and his monster when he realized he would just be hurting himself really hit me deeply. It’s an experience that I didn’t know I was looking for, and one I didn’t know I needed to see. I give a sincere, thank you to the creator of this animatic for showing us this real treasure.

AHHHH THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND HEARTWARMING AND ACTUALLY NOSTALGIC DESPITE THIS SHOW ENDING ONLY A FEW MONTHS AGO (feels like a few YEARS tho ;-;)
Seriously though, the animation and everything was beautifully done, Steven is absolutely adorable and seeing Connie and the gems there and him running towards them, and the monster in him stopped him, probably feeling like he doesn't deserve their love! But when he got rid of the bubble gloves and hugged his monster self my heart MELTED and then the ending scene with everyone there I actually cried 😭😭💖💖 That is how the episode should've went down; I would've DIED if we got in Steven's "corrupted" mind and it all happen like a KO/TKO thing god that would've been AWESOME but unfortunately nope 😔
