- Here is my best attempt at a drum cover from an AMAZING Fear Factory song, Christploitation. I remeber listening to the Mechanize album back when it came out in 2010, and I had only been playing drums for 1 year. I attempted this song and couldn't even wrap my mind around what I was hearing. I've always dreamed of the day that I could at the very least get through the song. With that being said this is NOT a flawless playthrough of the original but it is my best attempt after MANY takes, so please show mercy in the comment section. The original drummer Gene Hoglan, is god and a legend behind the kit and I could only hope to be as half as proficient as he is.

As much as I love this song, I DO NOT want to play it again lmao! Since all of my drum playthroughs are one take (its just easier since I have to handle 3 cameras, and work my DAW, and perform), I wont tell you all how many times I had to start over because of mistakes.

I remember i turned 16 in the 90s n got to cruise on my own and the first album I played in my car was demanufacture . The opening blew my f'ing mind. Once obsolete came a couple years later I loved em (I did stop after I obsolete) But to imagine trying to play any of that shit on drums, bro... Legend status. That is whole-heartidly impressive daaaamn.!

Fear Factory has is a band where Double Bass has always been a Very identifying aspect for their sound... Seeing u play this was awesome man. And actually its my first time hearing this track... Also, i thought angles and lighting were great. U made it this look Very nice man..💀🤘
Thanks bro. I really appreciate you taking the time to check this out. This song definitely challenged me and has been something i hoped to play ever since i heard it back in 2010. The whole album is amazing and it's one of the few fear Factory albums with Gene Hoglan as the drummer (which definitely contributes to the drums difficulty)
@@DrumlionMusic yeah, no problem man.. As far as my knowledge in regards of who played drums after Raymond Herrera departed from the band after the release of Transgression in 05'.. I had No idea Gene Hoglan did the drum tracks for this album.. I can see why learning this song feels like a BIG accomplishment to u.. Gene Hoglan one of if Not the Best of all time..💀🤘

Thanks so much! When you mentioned the song a few days ago it made me think about the very first time i ever attempted this and how i couldn't play a single note back then. This song is still ridiculously hard to play at my skill level but im glad i was actually able to get through it and it actually sound somewhat cohesive. By the time i finished that final take i was WIPED. Like i had a runners high going and everything lol. And i know it wasn't the reaction video you were hoping for but i figured you'd settle for a drum performance.

Lol well thank you for the compliments. This one was extremely difficult to do. It got to the point where i have no idea what my body was even doing. I guess i was putting everything i had into not screwing up the ridiculous double bass in this song. I do know that sometimes my entire body try to externalize the timing.i don't even realize im doing it half the time lol
