Seems like Barry always had feelings for Janine. If you watch him in the first thirty seconds, he can't seem to take his eyes off her. Maybe he was always in love with her and didn't realize until later.
I think you’re right Deacon. He did marry her a few years later after all. And he said another time he was hoping she’d wrestle when arguing with Peggy. He definitely liked her. @cocodakilla a kid that he married three years later.

Less than 4 years later Janine married Barry! Didn’t realise she was so young when that happened.
