- I paid about $80 for the Lithium Rebar Cutter, The motor and the plastic nut are broken,There is no battery for the cutter‘s socket,So I repaired it with a cheap brushless impact wrench.

*Good **MyBest.Tools** value compaired to other brands*
I was gonna say "just buy a replacement, would be way cheaper than this full rebuild and turning and all that," but then I googled how much a cordless rebar cutter costs. Holy cow good job!
this was REALLY impressive. the whole built, the fit and the finish on the aluminum piece.
Tbh I'm quite impressed with how well that lil cheap motor handled powering the hydraulic pump to get thru that big ol' piece of rebar at the end. Like that's just impressive that it managed to get thru that.
I’ve used a little hex impact drill like that in a pinch to take lugnuts off.. powering a little hydraulic pump should be easy, on top of being brushed to brushless upgrade
@@megaman992 agreed. The motor doesn't really do much work it's the hydraulic pump that holds the load.
Well done, it looks like it came that way. I think you made a good decision to not open the hydraulic pump as they can be a nightmare to reassemble and the fluid was clean. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
Another fantastic restoration. The modification of the modern power source to fit the restored unit to include the machining of the transition section is next level craftsmanship.
Amazing to watch and amazing skill.
But couldn't help but feel making a mount for the smaller motor in the original housing would be so much more efficient 😂
What a Frankenstein-looking tool. Great restoration!
I'm new to your channel, and I'm instantly hooked! The previous videos I've watched have been great, I've been inspired, with your help, step by step I've fixed a few of my old tools, I'm on top of the world, full of confidence, by watching you, I can do it too!!
Until now, McGyver and the A Team have nothing on you!!
Absolutely Brilliant 👏 👌
Brilliant Restomod, Didn't stop, just kept finding ways to succeed... Most Excellent. Thank you for sharing.
Making the connecting flange was really hard task that you did nicely. I think that lathe machine is our new member
Alot of time spent to fix a worn out tool, but I admire the effort/skill to make it nice to look at.
The big sigh at 3:24 when it spills all over hit me in the feels
Near video should be restoring and making the front part look like it matches, like it was one whole tool. Awesome video.
A very skilled restoration artist with knowlege in machine works, electricity and electronics.
Just wow, a really great job of repair, and thanks again for sharing your thoughts and great video
*we have cheap and efficient angle grinders these days but i didn't know such an add on existed, very interesting.*
When the budget jumps into hundreds of thousands the consumer tool market falls short of what the industrial trades have. Decking gun that drive finger sized "nails" into thick steel beams. Portable hydraulic benders for pipe or re-bar. Some job sites won't let you make a spark so no friction cutting tools. Hilti has made hi-torque battery powered impact guns and grinders for years before milwaukee even thought about it.
Great job fixing and making parts for it but why didn't you clean up the cutter part of it??
Enjoyed the video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
That cutter seems very gentle cutting the rembar, it doesn't suddenly break it and make a loud noise.

I am Soo impressed. You should sell it. Pit it on an auction for your viewers.
In the beginning .. I thought that not get fitt . But that was creative . Amazing job 🥰
Loved this project very well done !
fantastic! Thanks for sharing the approach you took to solving this problem.
Lots of skilled work. Nice!
Thank you; was very pleasant to watch.
Very nice job. Works like a charm.
Cool restoration and very impressive tool!
Awesome job. You have a great talent.
seeing you use the tap at the end made my arse pucker up. looked so close to snapping.
Good video, impressive retro fit.you mean the old one wasn’t a makita keep on doing what your doing.👍👍👍😎😎😎

Nice work makes me wish I had a lathe.
Is it just me or those sounds while sanding the aluminium @ 12:51 these sounded like the ray gun Toy I had when I was a kid wow the early 90s where a blast for me, other than that fantastic video, from a metal worker point of view - very little planning from what I could see but over all I'm very impressed
congratulations friend great job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇧🇷
Simply wonderful
My god, I've never seen a pinion puller that small. Now I need one B)
What a great project. Congrats. Btw. Could you repair my wife?
Amazing job
Es un trabajo magnífico
I confess I had my doubts but that turned out damn impressive! BTW: i assume you did but change the gear oil. Preferably with synthetic. I'm certain it oil requirements will be in the owners manual on line! Also stir a magnet through the oil to see if its shedding metal.
Why the impact wrench when the cutter is using a hydraulic reduction?
we need to fund our boy a milling machine, even if it's just a manual one.
This was amazing.
Wow!!! So cool!!!
Excellent!
Very nice.
Really good job¡¡
Wow. Thank you.
12.19 = mini EDM 😁
nice 👍
Beautiful work!
Finally! Nailclippers that are worthy of my nails!
Ellerinize sağlık.
Amazing..👍👍👍
Very good 🔥🔥🔥
Muito bom 😊😊
You should have covered the magnetic core with tape, It is hard to clean the metal shavings. Also for machining the contour of the aluminum piece, you could have mounted the drill with the cutting rotating bit against the lathe and turn the lathe head by hand for the three 120 degree portions to machine that lip.
I was very surprised he didn’t use the lathe to contour that piece. He still did a good job but I figured the lathe would have been the machine for the job rather than a dremel
Excellent
Use a centering bit on lathe! it will make your life a lot easier ! good job tho. i was curious about that small motor having enough torque to cut that!
Whoozer Great Job !!!
Amazing !
You made me say: wait what a couple of times. Makita wannabe was the hardest one. (The original Makita is not cheap at all).
use one for my toenails they work great!
There are some mounts for a hand mill to mount it on your lathe. Just an idea for saving time.
7:36 where has that tool been all my life?
u could out faze the bolts to use the old screw holes ,,,, and making a milling machine from an angle grinder maybe next project...
thats a 1000 $ tool good job
12:48 - Sounds like when Schwartz in A Christmas Story is pleading with Ralphie not to leave him because his tongue is stuck to the pole.
Amazing
They should make newer with fast gap closure, for thin bars would improve the response time
I wonder if you restore all the parts ..and paint it with silver..BTW nice idea
giỏi lắm người ae!
When a not-so-genuine Makita was repurposed to do something extraordinary.
The problem with brushed motors is that when they get stuck, they take on the new title of short circuit.
