Kingdom Hearts Final Mix: Easter Eggs & Hidden Details #37- Riku's Dark Firaga

Welcome to episode 37 of Kingdom Hearts Easter Eggs & Hidden Details.
Now if you remember back to when we initially arrived in Hollow Bastion, Donald & Goofy abandoned us to go with Riku. Soon after we meet them again in the Grand Hall were Riku proceeds to attack us during the cutscene with a purple ball of flame, known as Dark Firaga. Thankfully this is blocked by Goofy but right afterwards we fight Riku, however he never uses this attack in battle... strange right!
Well I actually discovered that later on in the story when we fight Riku-Ansem, if we cast Fire magic on him, he will retaliate with his own Dark Firaga attack, just like the one seen in the cutscene I talked about above. Casting Fire on him is the only way to see this attack and Riku-Ansem would never use this attack otherwise and so the only way you ever would have seen this in battle, is if you had casted Fire on him before. I'm sure most of you, like myself, would never think to cast Fire on Riku-Ansem and so have never seen this hidden attack before.
If you know of any other secret attacks used during Boss Battles under certain circumstances, please let me know.

Also people are likely to forget this attack exists since Firaga against Riku in his boss battles does absolutely no damage. Neither does most spells, so any attacks that would pop up when he gets hit with them are likely to be forgotten as well.

But you can block it back into him which does do damage. Meaning you can indeed defeat Riku using the Mega Destruction Dark Ball of Darkness and Destruction

A small detail that you missed is that any magic except gravity causes Riku to cast dark firaga. Tho it’s not instant or consistent because he may be mid animation. Sometimes he doesn’t do it at all and stands there looking cool while thunder is going off in the background

in the scene in hollow bastion where the 2nd Riku fight takes place (everlasting darkness) if you skip the cutscene a few seconds after sora says "forget it. There's no way you're taking kairi's heart" you'll start the battle with riku, however without any music playing
