Donald Pleasance: Hello. I’m a tubby, balding, English character actor in my fifties. John Carpenter: Just the all-American action hero I was looking for!
John Carpenter originally wanted Christopher Lee as Loomis. He turned it down and later went on to admit to Carpenter that it was one of the biggest regrets of his career! Christopher Lee, as Loomis, would have been amazing. However, Christopher Lee was 6'5 he was too dashing, heroic looking, and more physically imposing than Michael Myers. Donald Pleasance actually looked like a worn out psychologist and unlikely hero!
Great Amphibian I find your comment way off base, someone below points out what really happened. Maybe you just meant to be funny, I don't know, but it's low class and can't see any Halloween fan loving it.
@@theo847sqn Oh, there are a few personal touches that John Carpenter did with the script. For example, the name Michael Myers was John's lawyer and publicist. John Carpenter credited him with getting his previous films seen in Europe, so Carpenter gave him tribute in naming the villain Michael Myers.
@RavenHouseMystery wow I love this stuff An Iove finding something like 15 years after it came out Like I'm about two years off watching the whole of Breaking Bad Start to finish
In a world losing its mind, and people are just now starting to notice when its been happening for 25+ years, i feel like loomis from time to time. Nowadays people are starting to notice the evil, just as im getting too tired to fight it anymore.

I saw a documentary about Dr. Strangelove, a masterpiece of satire about the bleakest of topics, world destruction through nuclear war, and the son of the writer of the script (whose name escapes me) said that it was Stanley’s idea to add the second part of the title finally becoming “Dr. Strangelove or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb”. I immediately understood that it was completely pointless to worry about it because I would have zero influence in it happening or not. Not only that, but getting a really good seat and just enjoy the build up and ultimately full on Armageddon. This was back in 1964. We’re still here. What I mean is that there’s most certainly a human phenomenon that causes every generation to feel like everything is now at its worst. Only for someone to realize 60 years later that it’s pretty much as horrible as it’s ever been. Sure, there has been improvements and progress in most societies since 1964 but come on… the main difference is the technology. The rest is pretty much the same or worse. p.s. love Donald Pleasence
@@lincolnyaco5626 No. It's just the idea of Loomis being this scholarly sort of man, alone in his understanding of, and driven nearly mad by, the nigh-unstoppable evil that is Michael Myers.
My favorite Donald Pleasance story came from his work in "The Great Escape". The director didn't like his portrayal of a POW in a German prison camp. Finally Pleasance explained to him he had been a POW in a German prison camp.
I recently watched the original Halloween, for like the 300th time, but the first time watching it on shrooms, I was laughing so hard because Loomis is all over the neighborhood where the murders are taking place, telling the same story OVER & OVER, but is not on the street where the babysitters are all being killed, until the very end. He was everywhere he didn’t need to be, but nowhere he should have been 😂
I'm down for a full length movie made up of the clips of Loomis' scenes & just enough scenes not involving Loomis so we have context, to follow him on his pursuit of Michael Myers through the franchise.
And you used an exceptional, underrated as your background song from an album that has so many exceptional tunes from the World's Greatest Rock n Roll band.
Donald Pleasance really was the heart of those movies, especially as he got more worn down, tired, frustrated....
What a legend!
There would not have been a Halloween franchise without him.

Best casting ever.
No complaints.

Except, he was not tubby at all in 1978. 🤔🤣

Wonderful tribute to the hero of Halloween. Dracula has Van Helsing, Evil Dead has Ash Williams, and Michael Myers has Dr. Sam Loomis.
I always thought Sam Loomis
Was an anagram of
Mossim Lao....
@@theo847sqn The name is actually lifted from the film Psycho (1960). Sam Loomis was the name of Janet Leigh's boyfriend.

I jus made my post up

Who knew you could turn an iconic character like this into either, a coming of ages film, or a procedural detective drama.
Ghost Light Productions did the unthinkable and made the Halloween series "Oscar-baity."
Mr. Pleasance, forever a class act.
Makes me wish Donald Pleasance had been in "The Thing".
I agree! He was originally going to play Blair but a film he was working on at the time ran behind schedule and he couldn’t take the part.
The Man who saw a Boy and knew him closely. Almost stepped into Madness himself to stop a Monster..
This was the Achievement the Internet needed.
No Country For Old Loomis.
Seeing a Doctor Loomis movie pre Michael Myers would be good!!!
The world NEEDS this movie!
Someonemake it happen, please.
Agreed 100%
Donald Pleasence was my first favourite actor, I'm talking about when I was about 3.

What evil is this, then?
Just....brilliant. Well done.
I'd get in line for this!
Thanks,well-done and fun.
Loomis is up there with Ash, he's a Lovecraftian Hero struggling into insanity against an unstoppable Cosmic Horror.
Absolutely!
the horror loomis's goes through is nothing compared to what ash faces
I THOUGHT this seemed Lovecraftian. Is it inspired by any particular story?

You don’t know ? What do you mean you don’t know ? Classic loomis !!!
"Oh, Loomis...!" [cue Seinfeld music]

My favorite part is when he says, “it’s Looming time!”
Do not Loom!
THIS IS BRILLIANT!
I really really want to see this movie!! 😫😭
Damn. I want this. A light touch and a strong lead could make this a very worthwhile mininseries.
Ah, my favorite version of Blofeld!
"Would you put that thing away?!"
Missed opportunity to call it 'Old Man Loomis'.
I had no idea who this character was, and now I'm kinda pissed this isn't a real movie 😂
You’ll be pleased to learn it’s actually four movies. (Maybe three, couldn’t remember if H5 was in there)
This is amazing. So glad someone is finally giving Pleasance his due for always being worth watching even if the movie around him wasn't.
I oy watched the ones he was in it wasn't Jamie Lee Curtis, it was Donald Pleasanve that mate you believe, he hooked the audience, it was him
Music doesn't match the tone
“Dr Loomis Dr Loomis, Dr Loomis Dr Loomis, Dr Loomis Dr Loomis ohhhhhhh Dr Loomis.”
Dr. Loomis Dr. Loomis, rock me Dr. Loomis
“Whaddya think of me?”
“I think you’re crazy”
“I want a second opinion”
“You’re also lazy”
Donald Pleasance must 120 years old now.
Thank you for your service.

Dr Sam Loomis... "Getting too old for this S#IT" since 1978.
Great song choice, great work here, funny stuff!
Personally I wish his character had children or something we needed another Loomis at the end of series
I’d much rather watch this than the crap Hollywood makes today. 👍🏻
1:08 it is like Mr. Rogers and Captain Kangaroo decided to do a side gig.
Coincidence that he's named after Psycho's Sam Loomis...?
A very vague trailer. I had NO idea what this was about until another commenter mentioned Lovecraft.
3:37 to 3:40: behind you, doctor!
Like that he had only one scene with Michael in it. Clever
They need to make a trailer like this for 12 Days a Salve.
Starring NeoSporin

😜
No, they do not. There does need to be a movie called My First Ninety Days of Freedom.
Loomis is a great guy. I just can’t work out how his son became such an awful president…
Apparently Pleasance was drunk throughout the filming of the original Halloween.
Loomis has moved on to help Michael Myers
What

Thaaat? And how did Jack Nicholson not get the role as Loomis?
Christopher Lee was supposed to get it but dropped out.
I don't understand how CZcams can allow this sort of fake trailer to be listed as official. This is obviously not real.
Is this an ad for a movie that has not been made yet? Is it a trailer for a film that has been released?
What is this?
meh
ever heard of 2024 ?
"Official Trailer" yeah Pleasance died in the 90's
Awesome lying clickbait
God I hate fan made trailers. Enough
Wtf 😒
Other than an iconic RS tune, nothing to see here.
Loomis is the worst psychiatrist ever lol.
Nah He's an Og Gangsta Pimp Phyc a Legend should be everyone psychiatrist and he knows all about "The Evil".
Yeah well, you don't know what evil is.
There isn't a psychiatrist alive that could have done anything for Michael Myers, are you just completely brain dead or what?
He's had hundreds of other patients who haven't become one man depopulation events.
yeah, that's why he was able to predict that a kid who didn't say or do anything for 15 years would escape and go on a rampage...
