    Great scape and perfect timing! I did the first dry run /scape on my new 40L tonight. A number of dwarf cichlids are in the running for residency. Good luck with your project!

      Thank you! Good luck with your project as well! BTW: you will move to something bigger very soon, it's addictive ;)

      @AquascapingCube Thx! And oh, do I know it! We have a "black water" 35gal going now and I have two 40 breeders I am amassing hardscape for. I jumped back into the hobby head first after a 20yr hiatus!

    Nice video keep up the great work! I’ll try the sand capping technique on my next tank.

    That sand will ultimately sift through the larger solid granules and end up switching places. While it’s great for planting, in my experience, it will always come back to the top.

      This is correct. But I noticed that it doesn't happen that much when you have a lot of plants with strong roots. I guess those roots are keeping or "locking " the soil under the sand. When I had soil + sand and no strong rooted plants, they switched places exactly like you said.

    Very cool, always like your videos. Curious about how strong is the light for that volume?

      Thank you! I started with very simple 11W LED light on 80%. Now it's Chihiros A301 18W, but I run it at 60%.

    hello. if you wanna take down the tank how do you seperate the aquasoil and the white sand?

    • @AquascapingCube
      @AquascapingCube  Před 4 měsíci

      I put them both in big bucket, fill it with water and then "spin" it around few times (the bucket). Soil always stays at the top and sand will sink to the bottom. You can separate very easily 90% of it ;)
