Many powerful singers tend to show off when they sing that they end up not doing justice to the song as it is meant to be sung. Was not impressed when Mori upstaged Jessica Sanchez in their duet together. Her version of this song did not come close to Charice's because besides the latter's very rich velvety tone she had the added advantage of being mentored and having her songs arranged by Foster, showcasing not just her voice to the fullest but also the beauty of the song.
Her mentor is excellent

Charice is veteran contestant singer contender when she is still a kid.. i remember she joined a contest look a like singing contest and she was whitney houston that time.. until she joined sarah geronimo singing contest.. but she just became a runner up.. untill she went a tv guesting in korea.. the korean drop their jaw when they heard them sing.. and that the start of charice international careerr..

Honestly the best performance from Charice was The Bodyguard Medley in Manila with David.
Charice won 3rd place in a singing competition in the Philippines called "Little Big Stars." Then made an appearance on a show in Korea called "Star King." Ellen saw her performance in Korea, brought her to America. She performed "And I am telling you" and Ellen introduced her to Celine Dion and then David Foster.

When I was still a kid I remember her joining a Filipino TV Singing Competition called "Little Big Stars," I used to watch it. She only got the 3rd place. She was first discovered there. And then later on she was invited on Ellen's show.
