    Dr. Rich, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH. The night before my surgery to extract all my teeth for dentures, I seen your video. It helped me to decide "NOT" to have extraction surgery. It turns out to be the best decision of my life. The people at " AFFORDABLE DENTURES " were able to sell me on the idea that I needed to have all my teeth pulled. Today I seen an " HONEST " Dentist who determined my teeth are strong as hell. I made the right decision not to have all my teeth pulled, thanks to your Video. THANK YOU SIR !

    My E day is tomorrow, I am having what’s left of my upper teeth removed, 10 teeth in total, to be pulled and an immediate denture placed. With my insurance, having 3 prior visits, X-rays done, mold made for the denture and being put to sleep for the procedure all that is costing me just under $1600 out of pocket. I am so scared for the surgery and seeing myself with the dentures in and when I have to take them out, seeing myself without teeth, all the things just have me so worked up. I just pray the procedure goes well and I’m happy with the outcome both physically and mentally.

      That's wonderful for you, but not everyone has a good experience in Mexico. I took my father down there and it was the worst experience ever. There's a woman on CZcams called Caravan Carolyn. She has some videos up on her experience there. All of her implant work done there failed, became infected and she ended up just literally putting her fingers in her mouth and pulled the implants right out. People should be very cautious about having dental work done there. Again, it's great that you had a positive experience.

I'm disabled and I have horrible dental problems, and I'm having to borrow money from my parents and stuff just to pay for getting teeth pulled. I live in Anchorage, AK. I recently went to my dentist and I was recommended partial dentures which will be done in 3 phases by a general dentist. Phase 1 is to extract 4 teeth surgically quoted $1,900. Phase two is to extract 1 teeth surgically + 3 resin surfaces posterior quoted $1,700. Phase 3 is an option of 3: 1 options is partial denture upper and lower using metal - $6,100; option 2 is precision partial denture resin lower/upper + 4 crown full contour zirconia crown - $14,000; option 3 is implant which I won't provide the quote as it's incomplete. We are leaning toward option 2 which will total about before insurance $17,600. Insurance per year will cover only $3K. Opinion on whether the total price is reasonable, please? Thank you!

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, thanks for the question. Costs will vary from office to office, and I'm sure will be more expensive in Alaska compared to the lower 48. The surgical extractions are $475 each correct? That's more than a general dentist would charge but less than what an oral surgeon would charge in my part of NY. For phase 2 were they 3, one surface posterior fillings? That would work out to be 408 each. That's about $85 more than I charge in NY. The partials are a bit more than I charge, the crowns are in the ballpark, though precision attachment partials and crowns tend to be more expensive than a traditional partial denture with clasps.

    I work in a dental lab and work in the denture department. Making dentures is VERY labor intensive. Setting the teeth, making sure the bite is correct, then adding wax that is then hand carved to look like natural gums (it's called festooning). After that it is processed in several steps to make mold so the acrylic can be injected. After that it goes to finishing where they grind off any excess acrylic, buff and polish and making sure everything fits the stone model. So, the lab charges their price and the doctor then charges 3 times that to the patient.

    Operations in 2007. Radical neck dissection. 7 hour surgery removal of my tonsils etc.
    3 doses of chemo and 30 radiation trips.

    My teeth history was never good prior to my diagnosis, I had many veneers and crowns and now so far into my journey my mouth is a SS.
    Teeth falling out, dry mouth, bad breath and the list goes on.
    My wife has grown to live with it, she is an Angel. She saved my life.

      The bump above your lip should be an easy fix, the edge of the denture just needs to be thinned down a bit. I have a question. My dentist is going to pull all the rest of my teeth which is 14 all front teeth. He wants to put in immediate dentures but he doesn’t give me any regulars later. Is that normal or should I question that?

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  Před 2 lety +4

      Hi. It depends on your particular situation. For some cases, an immediate denture with a reline 6 months later is all that's needed. For other cases, I'll make a set of "healing dentures" (immediate dentures) and then a set of final dentures 6 months or so later. Talk to your dentist about your concerns before you start, you both need to be on the same page.

    Apparently I was ripped. Even after submitting to my discount plan, G E tore me up for nearly $7000 for a lower immediate denture & 11 extractions. Denture is a piece of crap, not symmetrical at all, right outer side is higher than left outer side, right inner side is taller than left inner side.Casting material was NOT evenly in the tray during the impressions. If i charged that kind of money to do the work i did, i would be out of business in n time at all. I had a guy tell me, you have to charge what you charge in order to make a living, so when i charged his the appropriate money, he had a fit and told me i was screwing him because he had a business, where i never argued about the prices he use to charge me.
