Chorizo Hot Dogs, Pizza, & Fernet - Drunk Eats Buenos Aires

- Allie Lazar hits the streets of Buenos Aires to sample some of the best late night food the city has to offer. Nights in Buenos Aires run long and late, as dinner isn’t usually served until 9pm, and the cuisine is heavily influenced by Italy and Spain. Aperitivo is essential: usually a vermouth- or fernet-based drink and a picada, the Argentine version of tapas or finger food, which is often a big board of various meats and cheeses. Allie starts her night off with a homemade Italian-Porteña meal, followed by a happy hour with various cocktails and a pizza to go. She ends her night with a typical Argentine street food: choripán, a chorizo hot dog.

It's so cute how her accent became very american after La Fuerza and some vermouth ahahah
PSST..........she is from the USA, Chicago to be exact! 😀
She's American
rather Porteño
Her argentine accent is spot on. I thought she was argetine, maybe her parents..
@@MGOFor3ver she's jewish and buenos aires has the biggest jewish community in south america.
Notice that the blurred coca-cola sign outside Don Carlos is black and white and not the normal red and white!? The reason for this is that this is in the Boca district where the football club Boca Juniors come from. Their arch rival and bitter enemy is River Plate who wears the color red/white. So the red/white is banned in the whole boca district!!!
Do they lose their shit when they see brake lights and headlights in the same field of vision then? That's funny lol
@@_Professor_Oak Brake lights are blue (?
Very interesting

9:14 damn she really took the glass with her LFMAO
You can do that in a lot of countries around the world. You take the glass or your give it back and get a little bit of change back for it, making your bill cheaper than if you kept the glass.
Was it plastic?
@@nathanchase1297 Sounds like you steal a lot of glasses and are trying to justify your habit.
@@bradenrodriguez5183 That's law in a lot of countries. I don't make the laws.
Even though she went alone, it is still way better that the LA episode.
For sure...she wasn't approaching random people and forcing conversations
@@andrewmetcalf2971 in argentina, people will look at you like allien if you do that
at least she's a food blogger, the first bitch was an influencer who I am convinced charged many of the shown restaurants money, and had a sorry ass website. This chick has a great website
She lives here in BA
Exactly, it's about having that wonderful night, truly experiencing it, letting go
and you absolutely have to end up at a place like this at the end of the night, were you don't care,
you are embracing the moment, you're going to be tipsy, and you're gonna have a big smile on your face,
because you're right where you need to be!
that's what this show is all about
It’s wholesome seeing how friendly and welcoming the people are in this video.
Even with all our faults as a country and as a society. I love my country. It's one of the friendliest country in the world. You can literally become friend with any stranger. We hug. We kiss. We joke. We help each other.
Imagine what we could become without corrupt governments.
Great video.
Same in Brasil my friend... Love the people from Argentina. Forte abraço hermano
Tal cual! Muy buen comentario!
y tenemos una picardía y un sentido del humor únicos...
Well the new President has just been elected. Lets see if things turn around for Argentina.
I love how as the night progressed she spoke English less and just spoke more Spanish
Alfin Kurnia Es que el Español es nuestro idioma emocional (Maybe because Spanish it’s our emotional language...).

Argentinean food is fucking amazing. It's like a European melting pot. I love how they don't have a menu. It's just, "here, sit down, let me feed you." There was this place I used to go in Venice, CA, that these guys from Argentina owned and when I would go in there they would just bring out things for me to try. I fucking loved it. Also being Italian this sort of thing--showing love with food--is very spiritual for me. Although in my family it was showing love by bashing you over the head with a wooden spoon. :)
Everything about this video is fantastic, hope to see more of her on Munchies going forward. Also Argentinian cuisine looks super delicious! Steak for days :)
Argentines love Red Vermouth and Fernet?
Well, I think I've found my people.
Yep, beer and wine too
For sure. My parents are Argentine / Italian. I remember being a kid going out clubbing with cousins and getting drink off fernet and coca which is very popular . No taking shots of this and that. But this was like almost 20 years ago. Tequila, vodka, rum, etc has become popular as well
A lot.
I had an Argentinian make me a Fernet and Dr. Pepper and I was hooked.
Buenos Aires is more Italian than NYC.
eeaaaaasy
Much more. I'm impressed actually.
I'm italian and I lived in Buenos Aires for six months, and I experienced more culture shock when I moved to the Netherlands lol It's pretty much like Italy just with more expensive clothes, more rampant crime, way more inflation, and also Spanish.
Martina Saieva nice to have you. We love Italy at Argentina
Let there be no doubt in your mind. Except we dont have canolis. Or stuffed shells. But yeah, NYC is more of an equal mixture of cultures, In BA its almost entirely Italian culture, with some Spanish thrown in.This is from someone who has lives extensively in both cities.
It throws me off every time she says “BA” 😂
Totally
Great vid and the subtitles are on point! Kudos to the translator. Saludos desde Argentina🇦🇷
I've been wanting to go to Buenos Aires and I love Fernet. Then I saw the food....I wish I was there right now!
Awesome and wholesome content as always! Great stuff ❤️ Please keep it up!
Will be adding this to my travel list!
This was pretty awesome, now I need to book some flights to Argentina at once, that's some good eats right there.
This was a very charming and insightful episode 😋😋
Ahí está la carta:
Una baraja pegada en el techo.

Regreso por segunda ocasión a BA desde Méx en Diciembre! Argentina siempre en mi corazón
Everytime I visit my mom in Mexico city, I make sure to stop by a couple of Argentinian restaurants, best food in the world for Saturday family reunions.

Hi just came in to add this edit here was clean. Superb.
It's really cool to see an american speaking spanish with an accent and everything. It wasn't until maybe halfway into the video I said 'wait one second, is she american?' It's inspiring me to try to use the spanish i learned in school and not be too worried about it. Spanish is just one of those languages I guess where it seems like everyone is native speaker type fluent so it can feel daunting to give it a go speaking with people. Muchas gracias de Nueva York!
If you are impressed by that, watch the videos of Dustin Luke. His accent speaking Spanish is 100% Argentine / Porteño
Love the place. Love the show.
Allie , really surprised me being very bilingual, she probably could speak several other different languages. “Best video ever.”
El fernet es con coca cola, mucha vuelta con el coktail. Una grande Allie, gracias por representarnos tan bien!!!
Thank you for this tasty food 😋
Love my city🇦🇷❤️
I live very close to La Fuerza! Warm weather is approaching and this awful pandemic seems to be passing, so I'm gonna be there as much as I can this summer.
Saludos from Buenos Aires
thank you for sharing.

Late Night Bueno Aires food: I’m about to end this whole mans career
I definitely gotta go to Argentina...
When she speaks Spanish, it reminds me of Gabriel Iglesias' re-enacting the principal speaking Spanish lol
Great, loved it. Would love to do that.
props to the parrillero who accepted that glass of warm chabona/fernandito... not an easy job!
Like it's a classy version of Insomniac with Dave Attell! 😋
@Tom Pryor Maybe?! Oh sorry, I thought you said GASSY! :p
Really enjoying the attractive bilingual hosts in this series.
@paperchasin23 What are you talking about? she's very good at it
It's funny that she got no personality whatsoever, but she get's even cuter when she drinks LOL
paperchasin23 she’s got thick America accent when she speaks; I couldn’t understand her some times, But it’s fine I’ve herd much worse and everyone could understand.
@paperchasin23 as a native spanish speaker, can assure u that she`s very good speaking spanish without any serious accent problems.
Not even a problem understanding her, problably some slang phrases that u might not understand but that happens in all places.
@@FerGon77 thank you, idk how these people are not understanding her, she spoke very clearly, if anything she used alot of argentine dialect that seems wrong, as a native speaker as well i dont understand people criticizing her speaking
Fernet with Coca Cola is popular in Argentina. I drink it in the summer with ice cubes. It´s very refreshing. It must be Fernet Branca (the best)
Buenos Aires!!! What a world class city!!! The best pizza in the world, Malbec wine, Meat Capital ; in addition: the BEST cinema of Latin America (Period). The country with most libraries and psychoanalysts in the world! Great theaters and shows on Corrientes Ave, beautiful women; when you go there is when you understand why Gustavo Cerati refers to BA as “La ciudad de la furia” (The city of fury)...Great episode! The host was EXCELENTE!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Agreed, however, with the exception of Siamo Nel Forno, Italian food in Argentina is possibly THE WORST
@@brunolondinese5857 you don t know anything of the world talking that shit. I went to many country in the world even to Japan. And the pasta pizza in Argentina after Italy itself has the best italian food. You should know that most italian food there is in level of street food not gourmet.
@@shonix123 my experience was very unimaginative replications of very typical Italian classics... Nothing regional or experimental. Pizzas thick and tough, pasta casually substituted with pancake (cannellones??? Wtf) and everything too salty. Prohibitive cost of imports is a major contributor but not an excuse for everything.
@@brunolondinese5857 Sadly, this is very true. Argentines are convinced that their pizza is the best in the world and outsiders (like me) find that laughable.
Boss move! took the whole wine glass to go Lmaoo
Perfect.

You guys should do a drunk eats in Colombia, but on the coast cities like Barranquilla, or Cartagena. You'll find great food there

So unfortunate that the L.A episode was so appalling.. This is a good series nonetheless
Lol it's hilarious how were still stuck on how terrible that episode was. Honestly starting to feel bad for her.
@@100nujabes I think she got the message alright.. She and the Aussie that did Hot Heads in India
I like it but the bogotá episode is the best one!
I wanna see more Allie!
Choripan uuuuhhhhhh the one thing I can't get in Hawaii. Used to buy them at a bodega in San Francisco near Ocean Beach. Chorizo here all taste like "portuguese sausage". I took that lightly living/visiting anywhere else in the world

Buenas Aires is the most Italian city outside of Italy
Argentina in general is the most italian country outside of Italy. And the same with Spain too..
@@AleXander-uf2dm you basically just said the same thing I did.

La calle bar..... Now la guitarrita xD
the host has a very nice voice. very soothing.
She's awesome!
Aahh when you dont need to read the subtitles
the place at the end looks like HEAVEn
As a regular costumer, I have to say that the most important part of all is that is 24/7 open. You can´t get more Buenos Aires than that.

Ellie Lazar Te amo!!!.

So she just wandered off with her glass and pizza? Classy.
Its the best fuckin show ever !!! love it
I'd improve Fernet by scaling back on the mint & making it slightly more syrupy, like Averna or Hilde 58.
Viva 🇨🇴
Lo de A caballo, que cura,, jaja
Best drink I've made so far ammereto and pineapple nice from concentrate. So may taste even better with natural. Less bad sugar. Try it get back to me.
She forgot to mention the people with German backround lmao! Wonder why 😏
Wow. Just took this to 1k with 👍
Aw she's gorgeous 🙂
What, she just takes the cocktail with the glass on the bus?
shes livin the life
@Eric T. Duckman didnt know that was a thing
@Eric T. Duckman what if chicks start trying this tho?
I supposeb the same hahaha 😂She leave and drink in the van 😂
You want entertainment just have some cameras follow me Friday after work in the summer during happy hour.

In the back of a cab with a glass and a pizza... Weird. haha
She took the glass with her in the van

😍😍😍Nothing like a Spanish speaking woman who’s “Down to Earth” DTE, ain’t shy to eat and loves to drink 🥴
Didn't concentrate so much on the food in this episode. Even the shots of the food didn't seem to do it justice
Buenos Aires local here. You can ask anything you want. I know everything.
Porteño, acá. Pueden preguntar lo que quieran. Lo sé todo.
What is the best German restaurant in Buenos Aires?
It's funny when coca cola at 0:55 got blurred bht Scweppes ar 0:02 don't
9:13 wait, they lst you take their glass?
10:31 chino maidana
Such a difference in generations and language I suppose. 'Argentines freak their shit?' What does this mean? How authentic is this Miss Lazar I wonder?
She took this job seriously! Her messy hair is a prove that there were plenty of liquor involved haha
Was that banana blossom on plate? 4:54
