Melrose deserved the win. She slayed the whole season, her pictures, her challenges, her overall look, I think she improved as a person too from beginning to now and that, to me, is also what ANTM is about. Not just growing as a model but as a person too.

Let's be real Caridee won because she had the relatable sympathetic story line and Melrose was the secondary Villain behind Monique and the Villain never wins. It's not traditional American narative.
nah her past pictures were better and so was her covergirl commercial/shot. The villain never wins narrative can't be true because lisa won the all-star cycle and nicole won cycle 5 despite being annoying and resting on pretty.

My favorite 2 finalists; sugar and spice. Loved both of them, I would have been over the moon if either won.

Melissa Rose was a bully,insecure,phony with fake enthusiasm..who had a meltdown because she didn’t win the dance challenge in Spain because she won several challenges in the past on the show she thinks that every win is suppose to be for her and a neurotic narcissist who thought because she knew top fashion designers and take good pictures who thought at the end she had it in the bag..sorry Melissa Rose ..Caridee is authentic, has a personality, relatable and people are drawn to that ..and she deserved it👏🏾👏🏾🌹🌹🌹

Many people think that Melrose should have won but ANTM doesn't rely only on beauty, walk, and jobs well done, there are other qualities that are critical in order to win for example you could have walked the catwalk better than Tyra and Naomi Campbell, the best pictures taken, the best makeup, the best looks but if you ar missing other characteristics you will NOT win. Throughout the entire competition, every single detail counts including Sentiments, feelings, looks, concentration, intelligence, friendliness, behavior, love for yourself, industry, and others, respect, quick thinking, extreme passion for the industry, charisma, collaboration, and presence, among many others and these are all measured throughout the competition and if you lack in any of the critical characteristics it takes only one to get you out and not win. They both were great but Caridee nailed more.

I feel both deserved to win either way regarding their overall performance, yet I believe the judges preferred Caridee's charm over Melrose's 'perfectionist' personality for their final decision.
At first I liked Melissa (MelRose) but as the season progressed I started to not like her at all. She was all about bragging about her life before top model and she also seemednlike an in the closet racist. The judges obviously saw those traits and it caused her to be second place, not to mention that she looks too old, and was the oldest contestant. I personally think that the ANTM of cycle7 winner should have been Amanda who came in 4th place.
Honestly , to this day I still can't believe that Melrose didn't win. Sure, Caridee had a more youthful face, but her runways wasn't as good as Melrose's. Sure Caridee was sweet as opposed to Melrose. But , Melrose was misunderstood because she was brutally honest. She was called a bitch by the other girls because they felt threatened by her ability. And honestly , self confidence is part of being a model.
People who are confident of themselves have no reason to suck up to others or act nice ( yep, some of the models in the show ( all cycles) were ' innocent white lotuses', who acted nice , but were full of shit. I preferred the straight forward Melrose to those fake people)
I love Caridee ( Michelle was my fav, followed by Anchal ) , but If ANTM selects a model based on how nice they are, then the show should be named ' America's next nicest model' not ' America's next top model'.

Years later and even with being a huge hometown fan of Caridee watching the cycle again as an adult Melrose was the clear winner and very misunderstood. I can’t believe how much bias I held. She’s not a bitch but rather a fierce competitor.
