    Looks fantastic. I always bake bread in a cast iron pot (Dutch oven). Keeps the steam in so the bread comes out much better. 30 min with the lid on, then take the lid off and give it 10 more minutes

      I've tried that but it takes forever for the bread to rise the second time around. I think it's because the Dutch ovens stay cool... I'll try again because that steam is so crucial for getting a nice crust on the exterior. Thanks for being here today :)

      @@DimitrasDishes You put the pot in the cold oven and preheat them together. That way the pot is scorching hot when you put the bread in it

      @@charlesblake2280 I decided to put a layer of feta cheese in it. So, I've stored it in plastic bags in the refrigerator. It's been good all week. I hope that helps you. God Bless🥰

      Yes you can! After it is baked wrap in foil and plastic and it will keep fresh up to a month :)

    Is your family from a village in Greece? Greek peasants. In Romania, where I’m from, I have relatives from the village. They make, there bread similar, round. Oameni simpli, dar faini! I would love to visit Grecia one day.

      yes, absolutely. When kneading by hand, it takes a bit longer but the result will still be delicious! Knead it for about 15 minutes :)

      This is the only way I've made it. You can substitute half the flour with whole wheat. It will be more dense.

    Could you use wholemeal flour instead of white flour? White flour is lethal for diabetics.

      You can but, it will make it more dense and keep in mind that the rising time will be much longer. Please let me know how it turns out :)

      @@DimitrasDishes I followed your exact recipe bit I substituted with whole wheat flour . I let it rise over night about 10 hours and then another 30mins on the baking tray like you did . Used same temp and duration like you. It came out amazing. Nice thick texture it reminded of the psomi my granny used to make at the xorio . Efxaristo na ise panda Kala Dimitra.

      I’ve never used a bread machine. If you try it please let us know how it turns out. Do you have a kitchen aid mixer? It does all of the kneading for you :) it’s my favorite kitchen tool 🤗
