I have mad respect for Paris Hilton. As a survivor of another abusive program in Utah (Maple Lake Academy) I can say firsthand how much Paris has helped the movement #BreakingCodeSilence She has been there to support our community from day 1. She personally replies to us when we share out stories, she has created a powerful team of lawyers that help survivors sue these programs and go to court if needed, for free. She has even gotten a bill passed in Utah to help protect children in these programs. (was passed into law in 2021) She went and testified there, (as she mentions she also got laws passed in 7 other states) she has not forgotten this community once the attention from her documentary on her abuse came out. She continues to inspire survivors and to support them. She is a hero to me, for using her voice and power to make a change. Her fame is what our movement needed to get started and to be heard. I love how she is protecting her child, and I believe part of that is due to her firsthand experience with abuse and child exploitation. Thank you Paris for sharing your story and for giving hope to so many.
I wish she would see this, but maybe you can tell her--her afent who is booking these interviews on her book tour needs to ask that someone read the book!!! Or she should provide the talking points. This is not helping sell the book or inform the public about this awful industry!

Joy's approach to interviewing a survivor of abuse is almost abusive itself. They Really should have had someone else be next to Paris. She was very patient with Joy.

I think after this hellish time as a teenager, Paris invented this alter-ego --- the fun party girl to cover up so much pain. Thank God - she's made it to the other side; found a wonderful life partner and has welcomed a baby boy ... CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 !!!

Feel like Paris is trying to protect her mom a bit... because her mom knew most of what was going on in that facility, and even when Paris went into detail a few years ago she still sort of stood by it saying she was "out of control".
Kathy Avanzino, being a wealthy socialite, was so busy socializing, jet-setting, shopping, wining, and dining, that it left her little time to be an effective parent. Kathy sent her away to get her out of their hair, but if Kathy had spent more time with her daughter, Paris would've never needed to be shipped away to strangers.

I was never a big fan of Paris Hilton but I didn't hate on her either. Whatever opinion I had of her changed completely after I watched her documentary The Real Story of Paris Hilton. It was very captivating and I never really thought she was dumb, I honestly felt like she just played the part. This interview as well as her documentary shows how intelligent and mature she has become. Kudos to her and her new family.

Paris is really coming into her own and she has a grace and humility that other women could learn from! Motherhood looks wonderful on her.
This was so rushed that it felt very uncomfortable to watch. Paris is very mature to have handled being questioned so quickly on such profoundly deep and wounding experiences.
I've never known Paris having this much difficulty talking about anything. In hearing her speak, I can see this is a real struggle, a real deep trauma that she carries.
It will always be there.

You could tell she was trying to re-live her childhood like it had been stolen and I believe she was then able to put the pieces of her puzzle together as to why she was the party girl and attracted to kids/teen things. Because it had been taken from her and she knew it. She could not press forward onto maturity until she completed those missing years.
You know I have always been misunderstood when I was teen. I was rebellious but then I was also very grounded because I drew the line what is okay and what is not for myself. Even when rumours were hard on me in school I still kept myself grounded. I am just glad my parents didn’t send me to these schools.

When I was in high school back in like 2003, my boyfriend at time had moved to my state from Arizona, and he said his ex gf from back there (also in raves/partying like Paris) had been sent to Provo Canyon in Utah and had suffered abuse there also. That was a long time ago now but that memory of him telling me that always stuck out in my mind.
