Awsome guys. I was stationed at Spang in 2004-2007 on an accompanied tour. It was a great time. Exploring the town was stimulating and Europe in general was my cup of tea. ITT tours made my downtime very satisfying. Enjoy!

My father and our family were stationed in Germany during the 80's (79-82, 85-89) when that was the height of the Cold War. Watching your videos looks and feels so Germany like I always will remember it. It's almost as if it never changed and I really do miss the country. My father was smart and took advantage while we lived there, and we traveled every year when summer vacation took place for me and my sis. It was an experience I will never forget. The countries are so small compared to the US you can see many in a short amount of time. Tremendous experience and I'm excited for your family.

Very interesting Video. I'm a German living in the Trier Area and I always wonderd how it looks behind the fence. Thanks for the little glimpse. We always drive by the base when we go to the Eiffel Park. This is a must see when you have kids. It's a yet little but evolving parc with rides for the little ones and many wild animals. You also have to come on a shopping and/or sightseeing tour to Trier, the oldest city in germany. It's worth it. I hope you have a good time in germany. Stay safe.

I was stationed at Bitburg and my wife at Spangdahlem and we lived in between in Phillipsheim for 4 years. The best time of our life. Traveled everywhere. I used to skydive near Trier airfield called Fohren.

I’m going later this year! Super exited. I’ve been in state side for a few years, no wife or family so i think it’s a very unique opportunity. Thanks for sharing your experiences I can’t wait

I remember when my father was stationed there in 86-90. We didn't live on base, but i still went to school there. Lovely country full of wonderful people.

My Dad was stationed there from1959 to1961, we did not live on the base when we got there. We lived in a small town called Baden, we were the only Americans in the small town. We lived with a nice German family for about 6 months. The housing looks the same as your video. Very beautiful country

Very cool, he must be a metals technology specialist. Machinist/Welder. We converted the old engine shop into a machine/welding shop next to sheet metal in 1992/93

Family was stationed down the road at Bitburg AFB . My son attended the elementary school across the street of our government quarters. This was 83- 87. In 85 POTUS REGAN came to Bitburg.

I’m ex British Army and was in Germany from 2001-2005. I remember visiting an American airbase in Southern Germany - it was called a PX. Massive place !
I think most British Forces have since left Germany now.

I was there in the 1980s. Did not recognize much except the bowling alley and then the left turn into base housing. They put that gate in by housing and the traffic circle. There was none there before except an emergency exit I think. That housing on the right as your drive in with 3 levels was typical back then and are the same buildings with new paint. They built regular houses in there? Those were other 3 level houses on the left and woods. There used to be an ugly brick building in base housing that was the old grocery store before they built the "new" one off of Goddard drive? Most of the military buildings back then were green and had green panels on them. I lived in the barracks by the radar station. Two guys to a room and maybe 3 in the dayroom!? You married folks had the life and still do! They usually pulled me out of the barracks to work weekends.

I was stationed all over Germany during the cold war for two decades and now as a civilian and still loving it but the thing that pisses me off is this background music. 😡🤬🤬🤪
