Ha, how fun is that, mine has a little 5 HP mercury on it, haven't had it on the water yet, but I am pretty sure it isn't going to run 25 MPH, thanks for sharing, fun stuff my friend. Dale
@@ZoutdoorZ yeah I'll have to look into that, was hoping it would be faster, I suppose prop pitch might matter as well, which I have no idea what that is
@Phillyfishguy boat weight is 135 pound, motor is Trim up, and jack by 1 inch, run 25 mph on my garmin, sometime the engine cut cause to hight revolution, have to change the empeller for biger pitch
Id stick with the 9.9 the others are too heavy the 15 isn't bad. The 9.9 seemed not at top revs not sure what's up there, heavy boat wrong prop? Possibly grind tune the prop to rev higher.
Hey there Sean ! I'm buying a 14 ft flat bottom like this one in couple days.. It comes with a 35 up Evenrude..u think that mat be too heavy ? I've never had a flat bottom.16 ft trihull yes back in the day..ur thoughts please if u have experience with this. Thanks !
@@texascoastwandererkayakfis672 Most flat bottom like the tracker 14 three feet wide will do 20 moh with the 9.9 if you go bigger the Franson will lower, the bow comes up and the bigger engine makes the boat plow people then out the weight in the bow to keep it on a plane. They only gain a few mph uses almost twice the fuel but feel they are ugg ug ygg speedboating.. 9.9 9s plenty 15 OK get the lightest one of those and all good I like the Yamaha or the Tohatsu lasts forever holds value inexpensive too, a bigger motor is costly.. If you are carrying three people say i would get the 15 Actually, there is an ID plate that tells you what size motor the boat is made to use, but no one reads that LOL...There are lots of videos here that speed clock these boats and engines check them out don't forget to have fun. Oh, there is a BIG difference between the three-foot-wide and a four-foot-wide john the four-foot likes a bigger motor but 20 moves it real good.
@@seanwalker5157 thanks for the input !! Maybe I could trade that 35hp to a 15hp..im sure i coukd get a gr8 deal..since that 35 Evenrude is in gr8 shape.
@@seanwalker5157 hey Sean.. Any recommendations you may see here ? I just git her running yesterday.. Willing to hear any with your experience ..Thanks !!

these boats are not the same width wise its about how wide is the actual hull at the waterline, at the chine, it varies.
