Okay , I have to admit, I thought the musical was a bad idea....Broadway and Green Day didn't seem a match....and some of the advertisements didn't convince me either ! But this song with these 3 men is just stunning !!!!! :D Bravo...xxxx
I'm not a GD fan, but I am a musical fan and I agree with @7leintje93; Green Day&Co. must have sympathy for those among us who are dying to see the musical and don't live anywhere near NYC, let alone USA... I'm from f-ing Venezuela and I'd glue my tongue to Lady Liberty just to be near such an overwhelming production
This song definitely the best when Billie Joe sings it. I mean this is amazing too but Billie Joe has a lot of meaning in this song so just he can sing it a lot better.
They have to sing differently in order to perform the musical every night on tour - if they screamed like Billy Joe then they would lose their voices and have to cancel shows or use replacements!
He's good and all, but songs like this should only be sung by the person who wrote it. Billie Joe wrote it in memory of his father, whoever else tries to perform this song can't bring out the same emotion that his song was supposed to have.
I'm sorry but i dont like John Gallagher ! i'm a huge Green Day. I don't say he's not a good singer.. he sings fine but it just doesn't goes with Green Day style..
