Crazy Stupid Love is SUCH a good movie.
YESS one of my fav Rom-Coms
OMG IT ISSS
Amazing movie
yees it’s so underrated
Agreed!
Hey guys just letting you know that the end scene was a reference to a bunch of 80's movies: "Can't Buy Me Love" , "The Breakfast Club", and "Say Anything". Also the music number was a reference to "Ferris Buller's Day Off". Hope this helps clear things up. Thanks for the video, keep up the great work! 🙂
I love the Breakfast Club so fucking much.
The crazy thing is how well this demonstrates the double standard right? Like having sex saved each of those boys' reputations but it ruined hers. And they were engaging (faking anyway) in the same activity. The juxtaposition of the way Brandon walked out of that bedroom and the way Olive did...that's a cold hard look at how much society hates women for having sex.
I love Olive’s parents. They are the best. 😂
“Any friend of Olive’s is a friend of our daughter’s” 🤣🤣🤣
This one is actually more of a comedy movie than a romantic one… The focus is in her story and the guy is just there lol
"WHAT?! *slams cabinet dramatically* WHO TOLD YOU?!?!"
Is forever one of my favorite lines ever lmfaoooo
The reason why Todd and her drove away on the lawnmower at the end is another 80's movie throwback from "Can't Buy Me Love." You should check it out; great movie with Patrick Dempsey.
This movie captures Emma stones charisma perfectly
i love this movie! i actually used to live in the town that this was filmed and remember everything shutting down for half the summer to make this. they used actual high school students that went to school there as background extras.
thats so cool!!! i’ve always wondered about that bc i noticed they used the actual location for (at least some of) the downtown scenes
super cool. thanks for sharing :D
Not even 7 minutes and I loved “Show me Penn Badgley.”
Bryce, I see you’re a man of art and culture.
There are so many 80's teen movie references in this. The musical number is an homage to Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The ending song is from The Breakfast Club. The scene where Todd is outside her window with the boombox is from Say Anything... The scene where they tide a lawnmower is from Can't Buy Me Love
You need to diversify your Penn watches 😂 He’s a similar character in John Tucker Must Die(excellent movie) and is fun to watch in the horror thriller Stepfather!
He's in this amazingly bad B Rated horror movie called Drive Thru and it's honestly one of my favorite movies. It's free to watch on CZcams rn (with ads 🙄) and I've been telling everyone I can, so here's your recommendation 😂
And if for some reason you actually take my recommendation PLEASE come back here and tell me what you thought 😭🙏🏻
I'm pretty sure that the section you were confused about at around 14:40 where the mother and Olive started acting in Southern accents was a reference to the play 'The Glass Menagerie'
The guy who was sleeping with the teacher's wife is Cam Gigandet, who played the evil vampire James in Twilight.
The lawn mower at the end is a reference to the movie Can't Buy Me Love, which starred a young Patrick Dempsey.
He also plays Chris in family guy
Aly Michalka plays Rhiannon. She is one half of the music duo Aly & AJ, I'm sure you've heard a few of their songs. She was on the Disney show Phil of the Future and was in a few DCOMs.
riding off on the lawnmower at the end is a nod to another 80's teen movie 'Can't Buy Me Love' which starred a young Patrick Dempsey.
Stanley and Patricia are parent goals!
They are friends in real life.
I can’t be the only one that notices how ZUFF has been figuring things out so well lately!
Ok but I love Zuff talking about his love for Stanley Tucci 😂
The OGs know Penn as the other Tucker and of course Gossip girl
since we're in october yall should be doing A LOT of horror movies!! cmon guys🤩
This is one of my favourite movies. I haven't watched in a long time, but it's still as good as I remember. I'm glad Olive and also Brandon got happy endings (even if it's not the point of the movie). I wouldn't classify Easy A as a romantic comedy, it's more like a comedy set on high-school. A lot of people compare it to Mean Girls (love both movies).
Emma Stone could play any role and Id love her in it
I love this movie! In the end when Todd pulls up on the Lawnmower with the speakers and then they threw their fist up in the air, they are referencing 3 80’s movies. All iconic and you guys should watch them. The lawn mower is referencing “can’t buy me love” the holding up the boom box outside the window references “say anything” and holding the fist up in the air references “the breakfast club”
When Harry Met Sally or Sleepless in Seattle are such great fall time rom coms
This movie was one of the few 2010s movies that aged well. Also, Penn Badgley ❤
P.S. Olive’s ‘Weekend’ Montage is Oscar worthy and it cracks me up every time. Also, so relatable.😊
The whole end scene with Todd was a series of homages to teen movies from the 80's. You caught that holding the speakers up, playing that song was from Say Anything. Riding away on the lawnmower together was from Can't Buy Me Love, and the freeze frame of them with their fists in the air was the final scene from The Breakfast Club
He picked her up on a lawnmower as a throwback to the 1980s movie Can't Buy Me Love, n they both throw a fist in the air as a throwback to the 1980s movie The Breakfast Club, n he stood on the mower raising the speakers blasting music into the air as a throwback to the 1980s movie Say Anything😁
The lawnmower is a shout out to the 80s movie Can't Buy Me Love.
It stars Seth Green and Patrick Dempsey when they were teens.
The house bunny also has Emma stone and is absolutely hilarious. Highly recommend watching even if it's not for a video.
The law mower is classic … from “Can’t Buy Me Love”.
I love Lisa kudrow Phoebe in friends is my favorite but she is funny as the guidance counselor 🤣
Everything they did at the very end was because she said she loves 80s romcoms and they recreated the end of Cant Buy Me Love: playing music outside her window, driving a lawn mower and the fist pump at the end.
18:38 'back to the salt mines!' is a term used when you go somewhere where something is tedious work, like you have work later so you say 'well, back to the salt mines' back when people worked at salt mines to find salt. it was hard labour ansd not easy to find it and so the term was born, Thats what he ment when he said 'see you at the salt mines', hope this made sense to you guys;)
The mum is accurate! Not every mum is a prude and real parents don't rely on others to teach their own kids everything they need to know in life. Just my opinion though...
it's still so crazy to me that whenever people see penn badgley in something they're like "omg it's joe from you" because in my case i've always been like "omg it's dan from gossip girl" 😭
This is one of the best teen comedy movies eveeeerrrrr
I really do like this movie but yeah it’s been back to back romances and I’m a romantic person but it’s a lot so I’m glad we’re gonna get some more variety in the next movie week
Omfg all the joe references 😂 🤣 😭 I love yall but damn if I can't even watch gossip girl now
I've been watching your channel for a few months now, legit did not know I wasn't subscribed, your vids always show up in my recommended feed, soo when you said 80% is not subbed I looked and immediately clicked that button 😁
You guys should watch Saved! Mandy Moore, Macaulay Culkin. It's hilarious.
The movie to me feels like a John hughes tribute, it remind me so much of his movies in the 80’s but with the twist of the protagonist being a female.
This was filmed at my high school nordhoff. It’s so weird watching this movie when I recognize most all of the locations they are filming at😂
Oh my god Crazy Stupid Love is a GREAT idea! It's another of my favourites lmao
11:11 fun fact, im not sure if you guys have watched it but the principal is Malcom Mcdowell aka Alex from a clockwork orange ! he lives in Ojai, California where they filmed Easy A.
This movie had me dying when I first watched it
I'd love to see you guys do more horror!
THE chocolate milk pizza and corn school lunch comment had me DYING! it’s really how it used to be and we were just normalizing that HAHA
The lawn mower scene was from the 80's movie, "Can't Buy Me Love" with Patrick Dempsey
The lawnmower is a callback to “Can’t Buy Me Love”. 1987. And, this isn’t really a rom com. It’s a teen comedy.
7:10 takes me out so bad 😂😂😂
react to ‘the other woman’ its a 2014 romcom
Yesss that would be a good one
@@jasminemathis467 yesss 😭 its such a funny movie i need them to see it
YES YESSS
you guyss always react to the best filmss yesssss
And here I am still waiting for the "A walk to remember" reaction 😭🙌🏽🙌🏽
The speakers outside her window and the driving off in the lawnmower are from 80s movies that she mentioned she loved in the movie....Say Anything was the movie that they took the speaker scene from and the lawnmower scene is from Can't buy me love...
the lawn mower- how 'Can't Buy me Love'- 80s teen HS comedy with Patrick Dempsey, ended.
I just came from the Lovely Bones video. Stanley Tucci is in both movies but did you know that the blonde girl in Easy A who plays Olive’s best friend is the real life sister of the girl who plays Susie Salmon’s blonde best friend in The Lovely Bones? And they were the Disney channel stars Aly and AJ!!!
Aly and AJ the Disney sister band . She is Aly from Phil of the future and cow bells
Y'all should watch What Dreams May Come. Since you liked the afterlife in Lovely Bones you would dig this movie. Robin Williams plays a dramatic role. It's so good.
if you guys haven’t seen it, you have to watch orphan. one of the best horror movies in my opinion :)
The actress who plays Rhiannon was in ‘Phil from the Future’.
La La Land is easily one of my favourite Emma Stone movies. This one is probably number 2. Her comedic timing in this is just perfect
This one of my favorite movies. Great plot and cast! ❤
will you guys watch "do revenge" ..?
You guys must watch The Stepfather. It's with Penn Badgley
Yeesss!! Easy A is one of my favourite movies 🙌🏼
I actually find it funny to see the actress who plays olives mom be such a free willing and cool mom while I remember seeing her as Margaret White in the 2002 remake of Carrie I have to admit though that if you do watch the 2002 version of Carrie the special effects isn't really all that good considering that it was made for TV but I still think the acting is stellar and the way the story is conveyed through flashbacks is very reminiscent of the book which was written as though it was taken from actual news articles, interviews and book quotes that were written about the tragic event at prom night and also the occasional inner monologue of Carrie. And it follows the book of much more closely and even has scenes that were never even in the other two movies
Guys may your next reaction be the Oscar-winning movie La la land Emma Stone is extraordinary in it
since it’s fall Gilmore girls would be perfect if it isn’t too long!
I still see Joe as Dan - Gossip Girl xoxo
You guys should definitely watch "The Breakfast Club" a cult classic that genuinely lives up to itself.
the principal- Malcolm MacDowell- 'A Clockwork Orange' 'Caligula'- big star in the 70s.
It's definitely not illegal because of his age but it's still illegal because she's a guidance counselor and he's a student. Regardless of him being over 18. And psychologists can't sleep with patients anyways. And since she's the counselor all the students are essentially her patients. So yeah. Still illegal and she will absolutely lose her license
Yeah the lawnmower is from an awesome movie called Can’t Buy Me Love with a young Patrick Dempsey ❤❤❤❤❤ I hope you guys watch it for Reel Time some day
How did you guys not laugh at the Woodchuck part? I swear I passed out
The mascot was originally a meerkat and the dance number at the end originally had Olive popping out of a dumpster and singing Nobidy Does it Better
"What is that? Are those words? "😆😅🤣😂🤣😅😆😅🤣
The lawnmower's a reference to another romcom (can't buy me love i think??)
I saw half of this movie once and then I had to go out, then later i was lazy to finish it, so I guess I will finish watching it w u guys.
The lawnmower reference is from another 80s movie-- Can't Buy Me Love
I would love to see your reaction to “The Girl Next Door”.
This is closer to the book The Scarlet Letter than the Demi Moore version of the book!!!! In case you want something to compare it to. Good review
Big Trouble is a good comedy with Stanley Tucci in it, also Janeane Garofalo and Jason Lee.
Zuff triggers my tics but I love watching you three!!
"He always has weird one liners"
*Hello, you*
The lawn mower is a reference to another 80s movie, Love Don’t Cost A Thing
I love olive's parents god-damn shit
You guys should watch the 1980’S horror movies, “Dolls”, “The Lost Boys”, and “Hellraiser 1 & 2”
If you watch Friends with Benefits it has a refference of this movie. Olive Pendergast appear breaking up with Justin Timberlake . Both movies were directed by the same guy
The school - many schools in Southern California are kind of open air schools, not so much of an interior, with many classrooms opening right outdoors.
this reaction had me cracking up the entire time lmaoo even though this was made in the 2010s its wild to see how much we've grown as a society that a lot of the lines make you say oh my Goodness lol still funny though Emma oozed charisma it kickstarted her career
The last movie with Amanda Bynes!
I still remember middle and high school well enough to know that irl Olive would definitely be in trouble fro verbally defending herself.
Please watch house bunny if you like Emma stone and mean girls vibes!!!
I love this freaking movie! Great choice y’all!
…and that soundtrack!!
If you guys ever do musicals, y’all should react to La La Land
Easy A isn’t a romance- It’s a comedy 😂
