Thats the funniest thing ive seen in my life. What a bunch of knobs.
They knew what it meant- they'd been convinced to abandon their support of England by the barman in exchange for a bowl of soup. People will do anything for a nice bowl of soup- surely you understand that?
At least they didn't cover up incest like Gerry Adams
No but price Andrew did kids

Tiocfaidh ar lá!
Weirdly the sentiment of the saying- literally translated- is still quite appropriate for the football supporting lads in the video. Our day will come! We're just not putting a specific date (or century) on when we expect it to happen. Bit like Sinn Fein.

Its actually pronounced tshookig (trying to anglicise this was pretty hard)
In Irish those letters make different sounds than in English. So this is spot on. England out.

Fair play, the English lads had no idea. I've read the BTL comments. I'm old enough to remember "No surrender to the IRA" by English fans in Dublin. Your time has come in Ireland. You're richer than the UK, you're in the EU, and you've left the fellahs with the big drums and flutes on London's payroll. And don't get the idea the English give a toss about the six counties. A tiny minority of Weegies, some ex forces guys in their fifties or older and some hard right people care. No one else gives a shit or would be glad to dump the six counties back into Ireland and let Ireland deal with the problems left over from the Plantation and the ascendancy.
nobody here in NI wants unification. can you all fuck off
:'D
Sing up the 'RA
Do we pronounce It Chuky
Ár lá? Well shit, I liked to pronounce it as Tiochfáid as it is written.
lol rooky mistake. Now, never ever try ti pronounce anything in Welsh.
@@lonewretch I won't because I feel your woes because I'm hungarian, and when somebody tries to pronounce something, it makes you want to rip you ear of.
@@louisthewetpussy8748 But imagine being Welsh and trying to listen to someone say this word... and this is a real word.. name for a trains station, iirc.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

@@lonewretch Yeah... And it hurts when some Americans try to pronounce hungarian dishes
They pronounced gulyás (LY= j) (S=sh) (á=like in English but a little longer)
.. they pounounced it as gULiAsh. Horrible.
@@louisthewetpussy8748 :) Mate, I like to study etymology when I can, and I understand the pain. It's the way of the modern age, unfortunately... where once we shared a common spoken alphabet, it was morphed by conquest, or dispersion. and while in some regions of the world, some things are similar, in others, so foreign, to pronounce the same word has become almost an atrocity to it's origin.
Vino, wine. U and v, double u, for a long U, sounding like uue.. ahh I get so lost in it all.
people today care not for it. and in deed ruin it further. Let me aks you.. et al.
Wish there was a time machine so I could go back to the first language. the one spoken by the first people. And there was one, given that nuances in the spoken words are carried across the planet.
cest la vie, est quod est. Now we speak shorthand. hbu?
I think the one thing we should retain in all of our ventures towards the future, is our language. spoken, written.. and lets not lose another nordic one, nor aboriginal one, nor celtic, aramaic, or even native one... lest we forget.
Come on! Nobody is that stupid. What did really happen here?
Ha ha, daft bastards.
😂😂up the ra😎☝️
"our day will come" not its coming home
yeah, jeff, that's the point, they asked how to say something, and the irish decided to fuck with them.
The Irish are allowing themselves to be replaced, so it is a silly slogan
🇮🇪
Nothing clever or funny about this video for two reasons:
1. Lots of English people are sympathisers with republicanism so these guys may well have been happy to say that to the camera even if they knew the meaning of the phrase. (pointless)
2. These individuals could have had relatives killed or injured by the IRA and could be distressed at seeing this video. That obviously doesn't bother Irish sport TV!
Shut up mate
I’m English and I support a free United Irish republic I find this video hilarious
@@sebby324 Do you not think it's stupid given the fact that so many English people support a United Ireland? To make an assumption that because someone is English they are against a United Ireland? You probably wouldn't find it hilarious if you had relatives killed or injured by the IRA.
Lets not forget, BOTH SIDES did some pretty awful things, not just the IRA.
They could've also had relatives killed or injured by the UDA, RIC, or the UVF.
For example, new lodge, belfast, february 4th 1973, where british Snipers and the UDA shot 2 IRA members, and then just randomly murdered 4 civilians, and injured 9 others,
all because they just felt like taking innocent lives that day.
Nobody was exactly "in the right" in the 30 year conflict, both sides hurt a LOT of innocent civilians.
