  • The Combo van gets some front end modifications, including projector headlights from a Corsa C and I fit a modified bonnet (hood - for the Americans). Makes the Combo look so much more aggressive!

    One other thing. You corrected "Arctic White" with "Glacier White" text on your vid, but the Vauxhall Corsa C/Combo Glacier White = Opel C Casablanca White = Vauxhall Corsa D Arctic White. They're all paint code Y474.

      Ha ha, so they are all the same shade of white? Typical of vehicle manufacturers to have the same product called 3 different things.

      @@RustLocker Yes, GM find a white they like and they sure stick with it (I think their Z20R black sapphire is similar). Opel usually gives a different name *and* code to the same paint shade, but I didn't want to confuse things. Except I just did.

    Hi mate any chance you could do a video on removing the door cards? Tried to remove mine today to upgrade the speakers, removed all screws, removed the mirror casing but couldn’t get the door cards to move at all 🤦🏼‍♂️

      Funny you should mention it, I’m doing and filming a speaker upgrade now. Should be done next week. But door cards have torx screws - behind mirror/tweeter cover, in the arm rest , behind the handle, and 2 at bottom of door. There’s a cir clip to take out of window winder handle, then the window seal needs to pull out... then you can pop off the door cards same way the mirror cover popped off.

      I got them on eBay for about £30 each, you have to keep an eye out for good ones, a breaker yard sent me a shockingly bad one and had to send it back.

    In future vids, tell people to click on the bell icon, too. I'm subscribed but forgotten the notifications bell - so now I'm going to watch your SRi alloy refurb that I had no idea had been uploaded. Pity you sprinted through the proj light swap. I bought a good pair - from a breaker - for £9 total, but funked the swap. Partly because I drive mine in UK and EU, and the reflector lights don't spill so bad on the wrong side, but mostly because fiddling with the wiring put me off. BTW, you'll find that some bulb changes which were a doddle on the old lamps will be keyhole gynaecology with the new ones.
    I like the bonnet (I also saw a vented, fibreglass smart job but someone got in before me). Does the interior cladding make the cabin less diesel rattly? And are you getting more windrush noise with that lift?

    • @RustLocker
      @RustLocker  Před 3 lety +1

      Funny you should say that, I’m working on a separate short video just on removing and replacing the headlights. Yea, future bulb changes will be a bumper off, lights out job, I haven’t got the elf hands required. Not sure what you mean by cladding though?

    • @RustLocker
      @RustLocker  Před 3 lety

      No extra wind rush noticeable btw.

      @@RustLocker Your previous bonnet had a painted metal underside (1.3CDTi? They mostly are metal) whereas mine (1.7DTi Soviet tractor) has a lot of sound-deadening under the lid. I thought your new one had a lot of plastic, apart from the vents/poppers but maybe I was mistaken and it was black-painted metal. Incidentally, I'm not one for detailing under the lid myself, but I'd've thought the previous owner would have run a bit of gloss around the edges he cut: lesson 1 in rust prevention.
