Did Fresh Cut really think he’d get away with the chicken comment at the end?
haha XD
@@freshcutcontenthi fresh cut slim, how are you? also this is karma :)
@@freshcutcontentit’s a music video because it was the first audio cartoon by Disney.
Doesn’t Fresh Cut sounds a little like Charmx?
@@spiderboy123_yt2 who?
Whenever Mickey whistles that tune he makes us smile. This reaction proves it.
It reminds me of what Disney is all about. It’s iconic for a reason.
Steamboat Willie is actually 95 years old. It was released in 1928.
Also, Plane Crazy is Mickey's actual first appearance.
My great grandmother was born a year after steamboat Willie came out.
@@The21stCentury_GuyHow great was she?
@@Halcon_Sierreno Sadly, I never meet her. She died in 1999 due to cancer and I was born 7 years after she passed away. My grandmother said she was the nicest mother you’ve ever meet. After She gave birth to my grandma in 1960, she had stomach cancer a few years later because her husband didn’t eat healthy that much before giving birth to my grandma. speaking of food my grandma told me that she would cook the greatest meals you’ll ever have. The moment you put her cooking in your mouth you’ll love it instantly lol. My grandmother showed me a picture of her on her phone and she looked so pretty. I wished I could have meet her. :( Every mother’s day we go to the cemetery and visit her grave and put flowers down. I would hug her grave knowing she would love me. RIP my great grandmother. 1929-1999
Steamboat willie was made on November 18, 1928. But the original Mickey Mouse cartoon called Plane Crazy was on May 15 1928 as test screening and widescreen in 1929.
I KNEW PLANE CRAZY WAS BEFORE STEAMBOAT WILLIE
No wonder Mickey's getting a horror movie. Dude was merciless on those animals 😭
Is that just what happens whenever a character goes public domain? They just automatically get a horror movie? It happened with Winnie the Pooh and it sucked
@@LogShaw1587Yeah, since horror movies are pretty easy to make with little to no budget
@blackbonger2963 I haven't personally seen it but I think it was supposed to made as a dark parody that is so bad it's funny. It happened with Willy's Wonderland (which I personally enjoyed) and I don't believe Blood and Honey gave the same vibe.
@@LogShaw1587They have prepared it for months before he became a public domain, so I respect the hustle.
ON A CARTOON
One of the ultimate classics! Animation sure has come a long way.
the glazing is crazy
A long way down.
@@skullface3191shut up
The name “Steamboat Willie” is actually a play on the name of a film named “Steamboat Bill Jr.”, a comedy that was released a few months prior. As far as I’m aware, Mickey was never meant to be named Willie.
HOWEVER…! Fun fact… Disney almost named Mickey “Mortimer Mouse”, but it was changed to Mickey because it was shorter and easier to say
Actually, Walt wanted to name Mickey Mortimer right, but his wife thought Mickey was cuter and simpler. So instead Mortimer was reused as the name for Mickeys newer rival, Mortimer Mouse
While the Steamboat Bill Jr. is somewhat true, but the inspiration actually came from the song that Mickey was whistling to, called "Steamboat Bill", which inspired Steamboat Bill Jr. The song was so popular in the year 1911. Check out the song, it's somewhat messed up.
I could never imagine that steamboat willie would become public domain, this is truly one of the moments of all time.
January 1st, 2024 will forever be remembered as the day Steamboat Willie FINALLY entered the public domain 😅
@@languageslover4401Yes siree!
I watched this a couple times before it was public domain
As someone who isn't even a big fan of Mickey Mouse (but is a HUGE fan of Disney Animation in general), Steamboat Willie is definitely a classic. 😊
Also, it was one of the first cartoons made with fully synchronized sound. That's why it heavily focused on the music, because they wanted to experiment and have fun with the technology they had at the time.
Loved watching disney movies when i was younger. The first cars and the second one literally made my childhood, i still have them on dvd til this day. The jungle book was also spectacular.
@harishadzibulic6603 Not the biggest fan of those movies, although Cars 1 and 2 WERE some of my childhood favorites as well and The Jungle Book WAS still a good sendoff for Walt himself.
While I do really love some of Walt's films (Pinocchio, Fantasia, Bambi, Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, etc.) I'm a bit more into a lot of the Renaissance and Revival films. And of course I also love a lot of Pixar films as well like Inside Out, Up, The Incredibles films, Finding Nemo (Dory is good too), WALL-E and of course the first three Toy Story films (I like the fourth as well, just not as much).
This was the first cartoon with synchronized sound. It was a big hit because people were used to seeing silent cartoons. That's why it focused on music so much.
7:12 it’s Turkey in the Straw. The song the goat ate so that’s why it’s being played. Subtle and creative, love those old details
it's the ice cream truck song
@@mitos1199Yeah that’s what he said, turkey in the straw. What’s the problem?
@@garrynewman6211 yeah i know but some know it as the ice cream truck song so i'm just throwing that name out there in case turkey in the straw doesn't ring a bell
I always called it "The cow kicked Nelly in the belly in the barn."
I never thought I’d see the day where Fresh Cut Slim would react to the entirety of the Steamboat Willie short, and get into no repercussions at that.
Can't believe fresh cut came back to CZcams before steamboat Willie released to the public domain
I'm really happy to see other CZcamsrs react to an almost 100-year cartoon. If there's a chance to react to other old cartoons like Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry, the laughter and real comedy from these cartoons would be amazing!
Too bad copyright exists, so it's only just Steamboat Willie... for now.
Plane Crazy and The Gallopin' Gaucho are also now in the public domain so he could watch those other old Mickey Mouse shorts!
Steamboat Willie is such a charming animation to watch to, and FCS's reaction proves it.
The song that Mickey was jamming to on the pots and pans/that the goat was playing is called "Turkey in the Straw" and was in fact the song that Minnie was carrying sheet music for. The goat ate said sheet music, thus it ended up playing the song.
Also, the character WAS known as Mickey Mouse during this time, it is the boat itself that is named Steamboat Willie. This is a reference to the motion picture "Steamboat Bill".
For those who can’t make out. The parrot says: “Hope ya don’t feel hurt, Big Boy!”
Fresh- (reads “Turkey in the Straw” off sheet music)
Also Fresh- I don’t know what song this is…
X-D Never change, Fresh! This reaction was great! :-D
Also, there is a song called “The Farmer in the Dell” too.
never change
In case you don't know most of these cartoons from this time used to be musical it was a common thing
Here's basically a fact about the parrot in this that was bugging Mickey. Due to the quality of the audio of the film, it sounds as if the parrot is squawking in gibberish. But thanks to research and listening really close, the parrot actually says, when mocking Mickey, "Hope ya don't feel hurt, big boy! Ha ha ha ha ha!" and then after Mickey harms the parrot in some way, the parrot yells, "Help! Help! Man overboard!"
Anyone think he sounds like an older Charmax? he's got the beanie.
The real Charmx would show us his head
@@lumpystilskin5367 it's him still, he's just now camera shy
he is charmx
Also, The song that mickey was dancing to With The animals is called: Turkey in the Straw. It's a classic song.
8:38 I'm gonna reminding you that there was an cutted scene after the piglet pulling music, *which is the part where Mickey using the mother pig as an instrument*
Plane crazy was the first ever mickey cartoon this one is the second. Btw this its so cool watching someone reacting to a old cartoon.😀
Chewing tobacco was surprisingly popular back than actually
The mouse's name was never Willie, that was the name of the steamboat. Walt Disney first considered calling him "Mortimer Mouse" before his wife convinced him to change it to "Mickey Mouse".
I made that comment first.
9:41 mickey's original name was mortimer Mouse, and plane crazy was the first cartoon of mickey, steam boat willy was the second cartoon.
Btw stevecrazy101 made the same comment as i did, but he said it first.
This is a good reaction video. And it’s even more fun because I haven’t seen the full original video before
Old animations have so much charm to them that just cannot be relplicated
I'd like to note that the song that was playing there is "Turkey in the Straw". I think the main reason you remember hearing it is because it's the same song that most ice cream trucks play. That's where I first heard it.
Thr bird says "Hope you don't feel hurt, big boy!" twice before laughing at Willie (Mickey) then when he gets hit by the potato and drops in the water he says "Help! Help! Man overboard!"
Fresh cut slim can sample steamboat willie now.
Tbh, a lot of old cartoons were just music videos with funny stuff and antics going on
Good time, We still remember your past and it shows
Good reaction man
Your content is some of the only stuff i will fully sit through. As somebody who would consistently leave comments on all of your older stuff from the start. Its amazing to be able to watch your stuff again. Especially things you enjoy making.
Good to have you back and making videos man, feels good
You should watch Plane Crazy next (The soundless version of it is in the public domain now too)... What he does to Minnie there...
The song willies playing is called turkey in the straw
1:42 The origin for Disney’s Animation Studios logo in their films since the late 2000s.
We going back in time with this one!!!!
I can't believe Fresh Cut Slim watched Mickey choke his chicken.
For a second, i thought this was a ytp judging by the fact that fresh cut slim never reacted to old time cartoons on his channel.
I laughed way harder than I thought I would
glad you're reacting to this! awesome cha- i mean fresh cut slim!
yeah like why he acting like we all don’t already know what he looks like😭
@@jameskehrt1823 doesn’t wanna be on camera cause it caused anxiety he explained in first couple videos
They showed you the name of the tune: Turkey in the Straw. Also, this has a scene cut, after he pulls the pigs tails, you lifts the pig up, shakes off the piglets and plays the tune by pressing on the pigs nipples and squeezing it like an accordion. Look up the uncensored version .
Steamboat willie was made on November 18, 1928. But the original Mickey Mouse cartoon called Plane Crazy was on May 15 1928 as test screening and widescreen in 1929.
He still has it the way he reacts a Videos is so honest and pure and I love it it’s really made me think of the classic days and I love it. I appreciate your reaction. Thank you 😊
Insane.
Also, you’ve grown so much, seems like you’re starting to get back and deal with your past again. We missed you, and hope you recover 👍
Good old days, when Disney and Mickey Mouse was abusing animals instead of kids 💀
ayyyyyyyyyyy the beanie is back ❤
Hell yeah! 😁
holy shit. holy shit. holy shit holy mother fucking shit. just got this on my feed and im feeling things ive never felt before. HES BACKKCKCKCKK!!!!
this video sends me back. amazing content, ch- fresh cut slim!
You reactions always make me laugh and I appreciate you for that.
No way! It's Charmx!!!!!!!! Its the guy I used to watch all the time.
I was thinking the same thing!
I actually have this cartoon on VHS - by itself mind you!😉
I still need to digitize it soon.
Edit: I put it on my second channel!
Splendid reaction my good sir hats off to you
Glad to see your back.
I'd like to give some info as an amateur history fan! Steamboat Whillie is supposedly a parody on the silent movie Steamboat Bill Jr, hence the name! The reason why it's mostly a musical, is because in the late 20's when "talkies" first started to become a thing, the widely held view was "Who the heck wants to hear people talk? It's time for showtunes and musicals!" That's why most of the first movies in the 20's to have sound are almost ALL musicals, at least from the ones I've seen!
No way... THE BEANIE BOI HAS RETURNED!
I would love to see you do more reaction videos with these older cartoons. And there are old cartoons that are some in the public domain like the ones from the 1920s to the 1950s
nice to see you back again fresh cut 4 skin
I used to watch this and I STILL LOVE IT
steamboat willie attempted murder on the animals💀💀
bro I love older cartoons but the fact someone from my childhood is reacting to an old cartoon makes it SO much better, thank you for this fresh cut ❤️
Dang it, you reacted to the censored version of Steamboat Willie. There’s a scene when after Mickey plucked the piglets tails, he grabs the sow which resulted her piglets falling off and Mickey pressing the sow’s 😖😖😖😖 oh boy.
there's also a ytp of steamboat willie created! you should react to it too! :D
And a goofy ahh version
I think the song that was being played on the animals also had the same tune as the "do your ____ hang low, can you tie em in a knot, can you tie em in a bow" song, which is also in lethal company in the delivery shuttle I think.
LOVE YOU FRESH CUT SLIMMMMMMM
You remind me of another reaction youtuber that I used to enjoy his videos a lot, you got a new sub 😊
Only 1920s kids remember watching this in theaters.
Fun fact: The giant cat is Pete the current rival of Goofy, which makes sense since yk goofy is a dog. So Mickey, Minnie and Pete first appeared in this short.
7:14 The song turkey In the straw from the year 1899
Wait a minute that beanie and facial hair looks familiar, Charmx is that you
It’s interesting how old cartoons evolve over time
I'm not trying to roast but my brain just said "Cryptid Doug Walker" seeing you for the first time
LES GOOO HES DOING REACTIONS AGAIN
Wait, that voice, that beard....
HOLY SHI-
One of the most wholesome reactions to this really nice cartoon.
The music that was playing is the turkey in the straw.
You should totally react to that dub by that one guy, it is absolutely hilarious
Micky whistling while sailing will always be memorable.
STEAMBOAT SLIMIE!
Wait a minute, is that……. *CHARMX*
I know this is you, Charmax
Mickey’s thru the mirror is definitely my favorite old Mickeh short
8:31 there was actually an extra part here but was cut in later versions because even for the time it was seen as too inappropriate
What a fantastic time to do a reaction video to this. Now that no one can strike you for it, it’s free game. Lol
1:42 So iconic
7:20 - woah! cool lookin mug I want one
I remember watching steamboat willie in history class like 2 years ago..so goofy 🫤
Welcome back I miss you but I do have a question for you, did you say fresh cut slim bc you have a fresh cut(see what I did there) and you like slim shady
The song Mickey abuses animals to play in this song is "Turkey ib the Straw" and ironically, Disney would've been unable to use this song had public domain laws been as they are now. The song entered the public domain in 1845
7:58 Actually, that's a 🪿 Goose. Not a Chicken.
Fresh Cut, that mask my guy, makes you look like a plague doctor that became a skinny discord moderator.
(I don't mean it though, fr you helped my depression, keep up the great work)
Trust me. You’re gonna love Steamboat Willie even more than ever before once his two horror movies and video game makes their debut😈👍
7:57 That's a duck 🤦♂️ He did not change
And This came out in the 1920's.
Just realized.
Fresh Cut Slim fits because its a half cut mask!
YAS
It was the first cartoon with synchronized sound. Plane Crazy was the first Mickey Mouse cartoon.
It's stupid how it can only be claimed after being 100 years old, yet Mickey is currently 95
in response to ya question, no
Mickey is and aways have been his name, Willy is probably the boat or just an inside joke, this was animated by Walt himself when he was a young adult so it could be a joke about a friend or something like that
please correct me if i am wrong
donald and goofy will be coming around in about 10 years
