Love seeing these types of old school theme parks coming back to life, also fun fact there's actually a king Kong vs Frankenstein movie that was made in 1933.
Wow looks like the new owner has done a great job keeping up the place, while also adding new additions. Can't wait to ride the new triple loop coaster
The landowners declined to extend the lease on the land in early 2009 and Kiddieland closed at the end of the 2009 season. In late June of 2010, it was announced that Kiddieland would be demolished. Kiddieland had over 30 rides and attractions and was Chicagoland's oldest family amusement park when it closed forever.
I like the old school smaller amusement park vibe. Very cool place- thanks for sharing!
Monticello is pronounced Mont-i-sell-o here in Indiana just so you know.
My brother was so good at the claw machines. He would almost always win. He donated the stuffed toys to children in need.
Would be funny if that football kicking machine would pull a Lucy on Charlie Brown and YOINK! the ball back right before you kick it...
Those poor carp acted like they were starving.... 🤣
I had an idea for you. You travel a lot but maybe you can do something fun without traveling for a little bit and catch a break? What if you had a “best of” series where we voted in your funniest moments, best places, craziest encounters…or whatever and you cut those videos together and post them? So you’re kinda taking a break but you’re working in the videos too. Just a thought. 🤷🏻♀️
The roller coaster you pointed out while on The skyride was one of the original coasters, used to be called the Galaxie. It was removed by the previous owners. When I was a kid, the mine cars didn't have the cages on the top of the cars either! I loved the haunted castle tour! The new owners have done an incredible job at adding new rides, and improving the park. But keeping the oldschool. nostalgic feel that the beach has always had. Thanks for visiting! Oh, and it's pronounced monti-sell-o.
Looks like an awesome place with cool rides. I loved the last fortune teller lol
This is definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for taking us along.
Happy to hear it was bought and thriving. Love old style parks with a variety of rides. I am not an Extreme Ride fan.
This dude has the coolest job ever
Watching you play random arcade games are so fun! You should do a full arcade video!
That's my park man. I've been there hundreds and hundreds of times and I've had some great times at Indiana Beach. One not so great time was when I was probably 7 I almost fell off of that sky ride sort of. My mom and sister were getting on and I was told to stay back with my grandparents, and as you know it doesn't stop so you can board, so just as they were sitting down and taking off I ran and hung onto the back. The guy saw me and my mom was screaming to stop the ride and when it finally stopped I was dangling above that last little part of fencing before it's a straight drop to the ground. He reversed it and we all got off but I never let go so I was proud of that but let's just say my mom wasn't too thrilled.
My husband said that one of his happy memories growing up was summers with his family at Grand Haven, MI and going to the Pronto Pup there. He didn't know there were others. He remembers the very nice manager was missing a couple fingers and assumed it was an unfortunate Pronto Pup accident.
I visited Kiddieland in Melrose Park, IL many, many times in the '70's. I rode that particular ride. I'm glad it's still around. I recall that ride being called "The Octopus" back then, not the Polyp.
Hey Jacob, love your channel!
I loved this place when I was 4! We stayed in a pirate cabin. You should come back to holiday world again!
