Rockstar raised the violence bar so high with Manhunt, that even 20 years later it stays at the top of these kinds of lists lol
I remember renting it when it first came out at Blockbuster, so disturbing. I had to finish it so I would never had to play it again.
Not being top 3 here falcon smoking that flacka here
I've never played, but I've watched clips. Manhunt 1 kind of seemed rudimentary and goofy to me. But Manhunt 2... that actually gets a bit too much even for me.
I actually hoped someone would have mentioned this game. Beat the first 1 and 2 was just a lot more crazier.
yeah..so years later they can lower the bar with non graphic content in GTA games and others...they lost it after they became succesful
Wow. Not even a mention of any of the postal games or hatred.
When I read the title, Hatred was the first game I thought of.
Hatred is an abomination and doesn’t deserve to be mentioned. Game is nothing but a nihilistic teenager’s wet dream. Good riddance.
Postal 2 should absolutely be on here.
Hatred really isn't that violent in terms of video games. It only got attention because it was clearly pushing into the "Look how badass and lonely I is, I is the only one who can save this world and it's by killing everyone else" mentality to point it gets ridiculously funny. Genuinely the no name incel ass MC literally blows up a nuke at the end😂😂😂
Indeed, first that came through my mind was Hatred.
Guessed No1 easily. But no Postal, no DOOM, no Hatred? no Alien VS Predator? No Carmageddon at least?
No Shadow Warrior, The Evil Within, Ultrakill, and Bulletstorm either..
Y'all just helping out with the next listicle of 20; props
Yeah, they left out a lot of games that were more violent than the ones mention on this video
no Prototype
No love for Bulletstorm? You got major skill points based on how inventive the kills were. And it was def gory.
Yhea I was expecting bulletstorm to be on the list and was suprised when it wasn't
Haven't completely seen this video. Now I'm sad inside that I've heard this bad news. At least the Punisher got some love.
This video felt like listening to the censored version of a song

I would've loved to have seen this violence you speak of
What is interesting about Manhunt is the game rewarded you for doing the most brutal executions. The game literally ranked you on a level of anywhere from 1 to 5 stars. If I remember correctly for every 4 or 5 levels where you achieve a 5 star rating there was a secret level unlocked. I think there was 4 secret levels in total
No DOOM 2016 or Eternal? Some of those glory kills are gnarly.
I don't think demons count, I think Falcon was referring to more human or humanoids
demons dont count buddy
I agree, Doom should have been on this list. If Turok 2 with its alien/dino/dino hybrid enemies can make the list, the destruction done to Doom's zombies/demons should count too.
DOOM 2016 and Eternal is a cartoon compared to the originals.
I agree, the 2 newest Dooms definitely have over the top violence.
Hope prototype is on the list. Sucks there's never going to be a 3rd and we'd be lucky if we ever got another remaster
I just posted about Prototype. Just started replaying it. Made miss the 360 era.
Tbh I hope they just pretend the sequel doesn't exist and just go off with a sequel to the first one. There's plenty of loose ends in the first game that got addressed in comics and shit but it'd be better to ACTUALLY play thru them
@BTBSOUNDS Personally I did enjoy 2 but I get why so many people didn't. The total personality change of Alex was pretty awful, but other than that I liked it. Another sequel is pretty much dead though. Every developer who worked on both games got sacked after the sequel didn't live up to sale hopes.
@@slimdarcy9503 for me I don't even really care about the personality change of Alex but more so the personality of Heller period. And also the game had a far more limited moveset than the first. I fully believe that the only thing 2 did better than 1 was the Tendrils power and the Bio Bombs. It took out the random web of intrigue targets that just walked around in favour of selecting missions from a menu which took away from the dynamic feeling of these people just existing before you swoop in. It also took away almost all the contextual stuff you could do with disguises like accusing someone else of being infected or calling in airstrikes or whatever
Why won’t there ??
Even before watching the video I knew it'd be more of a "20 Most Violent MAINSTREAM Video Games" list. There are plenty of other games that are way worse than most of these.
I feel like Callisto Protocol should have been taken under consideration, if only because dismemberment is a literal combat strategy that functionally disables opponents rather than kills them. It's not there just for the gore of it; it's part of the fight mechanics.
It's also one of the few games that allows you to turn off a *combat strategy* in the options because it's too much for some players. The Japanese half of the production team also pulled out because the violence was too much for them to release, allegedly, but the original creator refused to tone it down to placate them.
I'm surprise Sniper Elite didn't even got a mention
Yeah you would think the x-ray cam would make it one of the higher on the list games
X ray testicle shots deserve at least a mention.
Oh yeah that’s a good one
I just wish the aftermath reflects the explicit damage shown in those x-ray cams.
That X ray cam is terrifying, especially when the bones splinter and organs make that sound when turning to mush
They really need to remake or remaster The Punisher.
I want to play that game again, it was so damn good
Amen to that!
I would just love a release on new Console's without anything. I believe if it was re done it wouldn't be the same. Cause we know they would block out the crushing heads
@@NiceDiggz Yeh, I would even gladly take a re-release. Maybe they could have it uncut if games exists like Dead Space, Callisto Protocol, and Dead Island 2.
Will never happen knowing Disney
Ahh man, The Punisher was awesome. I was so surprised when I found out that it got poor reviews back in the day.
With a Top 20 list, surely could've slotted Postal 2 on here
Blade of Darkness also deserved at least an honorable mention, a game from 2001 having that level of a gore system is something else
I was looking for this.

Gameranx: 20 Most Violent Video Games EVER
Also Gamranx: Better not show the gory bits because we need to keep that sweet monitization.
Also Gameranx: these are actually not the 20 most violent video games ever, just the ones the editor played. The list is horrendous lol.
In fairness, a single video getting slapped doesn't just hurt that one video, it harms the channel's analytics in a way that can take weeks to recover.
Well they have to get paid in order to keep making vids. Soooo it makes sense that would rather keep monetizing. Full support 👌🏻
Where's "Friday the 13th"? That was like "PS4 Manhunt"!😂
@@LSSJTHOR Oh crap! I forgot all about that game. Yeah those developers went super crazy with their violence. I think you're right. I think Friday the 13th definitely should have been on this one.
Man the first 2 weeks of that game were the best! After that it got ruined by hackers
@theTF2sniper best broken game ever, the online experiance was phenomenal like the old cod days
"I hate part 8 Jason breaking down my door while I'm trying jerk off unda my covers"
Rockstars "The Warriors" would have been perfect on this list 👌
I gotta play that on my PS4 cuz it runs like shit on the PS5. Can’t wait to play it
"The Callisto Protocol" did a lot of things wrong but for sure it had some gruesome violence.
The thing about The Last of Us isnt how violent it is but how realistic the violence is, the attention to detail naughty dog put into that games violence is truly unmatched
Jack Thompson did more for Rockstar Games then they could ever dream off. Hell, he was probably working for them because he was just that ridiculous.
Honorable mention Ryse: Son of Rome
CZcams is getting so ridiculous that here we have a video about the top 20 most violent games which can't show any of the violence. 😂
😂😂😂
Manhunt is gotta be the most violent one out there. The brutal executions were off the charts for those times.
Manhunt 2 for PC (with an 'A' rating). 🩸
Clearly you don't play vr if you think that 😂
There wasn't VR back when Manhunt was around 🙄@@realname2490
one of them, yeah. still is. there arent many games as cruel as that nowadays even
I think it deserves the #1 place, guess it wasn't too gory but the premise and mechanics of the game were the most violent and brutal I'd ever seen.
Speaking of violence, there's a game called LOADOUT. a TPS game back from 2013 that has so much violence and gore in it despite having cartoony graphics ! Still gud to date. Pls check it out.
Postal and Postal 2 not being on this list is a crime
Those don't count as real games
@@maskedman5657 Thats like saying Pong isnt a real game because it didnt have graphics
I have Postal, Postal 2 and Postal 4. Nobody wants that Postal 3 garbage. But if ANY game takes the cake, it's Postal. Puts ALL these other games to shame. When I'm in the mood for mindless violence I load up one of the Postals, they have been installed since their releases.
Bro I feel you I was waiting for doom 2016 or doom eternal you can rip things in half with your bare hands.

Manhunt takes the cake in my opinion
Manhunt 2, not Manhunt 1. It's stupid the 2nd game wasn't first on this list.
To this day, the plastic bag lvl 3 is burned into my mind. I still have my OG Xbox disk.
@@Mike13thghost The cake is a lie.
Manhunt 2 for PC (with an 'A' rating). 🩸
Over mortal Kombat naaa
As soon as I saw the title, my mind went to Manhunt… and then ThrillKill (which I actually played the leaked build back in the day). At the time, both felt very dark and like I shouldn’t be playing them. So good! Glad to see them on the list!
No manhunt 2? The pc version made you mimic what was going on, on screen with a mouse. The most immersed game mechanic prior to vr, you stabbed by thrusting, tied stuff around necks by spinning the mouse and strangled by shaking the mouse. The tourture dungeon was full of unique kills too. I miss that version
I grew up in the 90s, thanks for reminding my age.
Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2. 'No Russian'. Mic drop.
Sniper Elite series with its internal damage view is pretty gruesome too.
Why even make this video if you aren't going to show any of it from the games?
Yeah. worst case they have a good video for viewers that gets demonetized. At least it's good content. But this just seems pointless. "Lets make a video naming off games for a cool video topic, but not show any of the topic".
@@daikin-ng2rp Yeah pointless is the right word. I stopped watching it after a few minutes because it felt that way.
Why even leave a comment if you can't wrap your small brain around monetization 🤡
@@charlesclements7382 I'm well aware its for monetization but if you can't make a video about something due to that, then don't make it.
because they want money, not like they make a tonne off other videos, totally pointless video
I love how I play Dead Island 2 on an original Xbox One and it still looks and runs great. Just shows that if the developers put the effort in, it can work on any platform
How did Wolfenstein not make it
@@sebastiangazarik3066 The beheading scene was pretty crazy. Those electrical fields turning Nazis into goo was a pretty sticky situation as well.
III was wondering the same thing.
Because this channel is a joke and focuses mostly on games that most people have never played or heard of for some reason. It's almost like they're trying to be "anti-mainstream" or something.
I think one of the things thats definitely sells the last of us part 2’s gore is the screams that enemy’s make after you dismember their leg or arm or even the entire lower half of their body if you have explosive arrows.
Not just that but the looks of the gore in general are insane
Man, I hate killing the dogs. The whimpers they make really break me unless they’ve killed me 40 times.
The Splatterhouse remake on the PS3 was A LOT more brutal and gorey than the original. I remember bending demons over punching them into thier asshole and ripping out their intestines. Each demon type had a couple of different finishing moves like that. It was an amazingly underrated game.
Amazing. Barely a drop of gore in the whole thing 😂
No hatred, no Postal, no The suffering and Manhunt only on 5 is wild 😂
Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2. 'No Russian'. Mic drop.

Turning people into goo with Lazer weapons in Fallout was peak gaming
Laser made ash and plasma made goo
dude i literally remember playing the punisher demo over and over and over again 😂😂😂 HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THE PIRANHAS IYKYK 😅
RE2 remake was only gory in terms of zombie damage and cutscenes, while player damage is oddly tame and censored when compared to RE4 and it's remake, which is just insanely brutal.
How is RDR2 not on this list??? What other game allows you to turn an NPC’s head into a bloody stump with a shotgun so realisticly?
Yeah it should have been top 3 for sure, this was such a weird list

Remember Hatred? No? This list doesn't neither.
Pepperidge Farm remembers
Good game but became redundant quickly. More shock violence than upfront in your face violence.
Yeah
@@David0gden But Pepperidge Farms ain't gonna keep it to Pepperidge Farms self
I think they purposely chose to not put that game on here. I'm assuming because of the narrative. Like how they didn't mention Postal. Remember State of Emergency
Expected to see Kingpin: Life of Crime or Redline. Remember both of them being exceptionally violent.
I'm surprised Manhunt isn't Nr.1.
I love how most of these are just going to be censored
Hotline Miami, The Darkness II, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ninja Gaiden II, The Punisher, and Manhunt in the same video? Let's gooo!!!!!!!!!!
The darkness!
Hotline Miami, The Darkness II, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ninja Gaiden II, The Punisher, and Manhunt in the same video? Let's not actually show ANY of the violence!!!!!!!!!!
Hatred? Doom? Harvester? Postal? Carmageddon? C'mon!
Blade of Darkness was one of my favorites back in the day.
Granddaddy Dark Souls. I can’t wait to play that
I remember God of War 3 as particularly brutal, the fight that was especially brutal to me was fight with Kronos and destroying his nails, even slicing through stomach wasn't as nasty as nails for me.
Wow can't believe prototype wasn't on the list
Absolutely criminal not including Blitz the League 2
I was surprised not to see the Sniper Elite series in here. That bullet cam can be gnarly.
Punisher is hands down the best! Jane's performance was top notch
I agree, the uncensored version is awesome
Prototype should be in the list too
No it shouldn't. I love that game, it isn't exactly that violent or gory compared to these. Cool, you have dismemberment, so does AC valhalla and that game sucked.
I feel like prototype deserves a place on the list tbh😅
I think "hatred" could be an honorable mention🔥
Soldier of Fortune II Double Helix was my first Gore FPS when i was 13 years old
Same here. I think I was like 12
Bro I played Fear I need to play those three SOFs
Fear was a banger
Notable mentions: modern doom series, sleeping dogs, assassins creed Valhalla, and ghosts of Tsushima to name a few
Tsushima? Nah
@@rubenel7993 what do you mean. You literally cut off limbs, and heads in that game lol
I think I would've included Red Dead Redemption 2, with what you can to to people with dynamite arrows or a shotgun. I also really love the Homelander fatalities/brutalities in MK1, for example him lasering someone's feet off and then lasering them in half or throwing someone against a plane, pulling them off and throwing them into one engine
I came expecting to see TLoU2 and I was not disappointed. The depiction and themes around violence in the game is among the best in terms of writing I've ever seen in the genre.
Hatred should have been on this list, it's about as violent as I've ever seen a game get.
Manhunt 2 should be the very top of any list of most violent videogames.
No Prototype!?😵
I’m so happy to see Madworld added in. No one seemed to know what it was but I played the hell of it as a kid
The “Sniper Elite” series should be on here. Close up, full anatomy cut scenes where your bullets go through kidneys, liver, lungs... it was pretty gross at first, but you got used to it.
How is The Surge 1-2 not on this list? You cut limbs off to get armor pieces or weapon schematics.
Criminally underrated games imo. I loved the surge
@@jaydeebow6431 The Thurge ith tho thick.
Great soulslike games, both.
Definitely not that gory.
Even Red Dead Redemption 2 is gorier than them.
@felisasininus1784 yeah I'm inclined to agree, the saving grace being that the gimmick is "most violent" videogame. And even then, are we talking literal violence like fps games or like what about games centered around the abstract of violence like rule of rose? I mean at the end of the day, literal violence is only as provoking as it is because of deeper psychological impact of violence itself and how we process it. But yeah, violent. Not gory haha
I remember playing Madworld at a friends house and I absolutely loved it. It was so fun.
And seeing Dead Rising getting some light shining on it is always good. Can’t wait for the remaster.
Blood Trail and Hard Bullet are some of the most gory and realistically violent games I've ever played. Enemies scream, cry for help, twitch when killed, faces can be removed and holes hot through heads. They're also both VR games, so it FEELS more realistic.
That list severly lacks. No postal game, one of the most famous for violence and no R2D2. Those two games alone are have more violence than half of this list together.
Remake Manhunt&Manhunt 2. Make it a bundle, full price, I'd pay hahaha
As long as the 'A' rating is kept for Manhunt 2, PC version.
Absolutely
Bloodtrail vr should be on this list
Fear and hunger definitely deserves to be on the list. Not great graphics but there are many moments in this game that it deserves to be somewhere on top of the list
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil was one of the most violent games I ever played and it was on N64. Blood and gore on Nintendo.
Those were the days.
Cerebral Bore is legendary.
I think Conker's Bad Fur Day would have been a worthy addition to this list.
Vulgar but not brutally violent
I feel like Bungie's Myth games should have been on there, just for how relatively bloody they were at the time and the rarity of a hyper-bloody strategy game. Grenades tearing people to bits, blood trailing from limbs being blown across the hills, Ghols picking up heads and throwing them, and battlefields that were just a bloody mess by the time the battle was over. Was shockingly gory for 1997, and is still kind of impressive in some ways still even if it's not as close up and personal as a lot of games that made the list.
glad you covered this topic today
I have a suspicion that ~2025 will be remembered for an overabundance of VHS-filter games. I wouldn't be surprised if someone attempts a spiritual successor to Manhunt.
they would never...but if they do...
@@MercenaryTau fun fact, if you're born in the '80s and you don't wear your glasses, then all of your video games look like they have a VHS filter on them. 🤓📼
I’m praying one day rockstar releases manhunt 3, I’d die happy
@@anapple.4338no doubt. Manhunt 1 was the greatest Rockstar game ever
Surprised GTA, Saints Row and State of Emergency aren’t on this list. We need a part 2, keep this series going.
WE NEED A PUNISHER REMAKE ASAP AND WE HAVE NEEDED ONE FOR A LONG TIME!
I would of added the original Mortal Kombat when it first came out on Arcade Machines and of course Battle Chess - which saw chess pieces being de-limbed, tortured, carved and butchered. Was a great game too.
The Roman Empire was probably the most violent game 😅 I think about it at least 4 times a week.
Blood 1 and 2, Postal 1 and 2, Devil Inside, GTA 3, Infantry sprites in old C&C games, Carmageddons, Bad Day L.A, UFO games, Myth 1 and 2... you can easily make a top 50 :)
The early 2000s games will never be replicated.
I immediately thought of how crazy “ Solider of Fortune “ was back in the day & was thinking no way it would make this list 😅 Awesome dude!! 👏
Hatred not being on this list is absolutely surprising considering it's violence got it banned and an "A" rating
Not adding hatred is completely disrespectful like literally that is one of the most violent games of all time period!
So glad the punisher ps2 finally gets some love on this channel. I played the heck out this game. All that gore, and kills would make for a great ps5 remake!
Thank you for my daily dose of flashbang transitions.
No Postal feels like a crime. Also surprised that the Splatterhouse remake was not mentioned. Also feel like the prototype series could have been on this list
I miss these Old games 😢
The Punisher game was a diamond in the rough of gaming. Imagine a new take on it.
The world has forgotten about Hatred, the game where you’re just a guy who hates the world and start going on a murder spree.
There are so many missing games here though. Prototype, Doom, Killing Floor, Bloodrayne, the Suffering. Heck, there used to be a PC games called Blood. Even Immortal on Sega Genesis was pretty gory. And I totally agree with the posts about Hatred and Postal.
