It's funny because sonix did the same thing in their last match at genesis 9. Sonix impulsively spin dashed aiming right in front of leo and leo just casually back aired him with Mythra, kicking sonix to losers finals against light.
They fell for Leo's bait. They allowed themselves to be pressured in a situation that was favorable for them both. You can see how Leo does a bunch of tomahawks, they allowed the despair of not being able to take that last stock as fast as they wanted to get to their heads.
Leo did a single tomahawk after he pressured them with tons of landing aerials. I don't know what your talking about with Leo's bait, but I think what's much more impressive is Leo's positioning. A 2v1 can sometimes feel like a 1v1v1 and Leo did a great job of placing himself in-between the two of them so that neither of them could throw out hit boxes without threatening their teammates. Riddles and Onion weren't working well together. You could see how many times Leo should have died, but they missed the confirm. Once with the gates of hell-fsmash, again with the minecart-upsmash, and lastly with mine cart interrupting the rage mode.

It seems that after losing against Kazuya and Steve in the past, he learned those MUs very strongly to the point that he neglected others. I have faith that he can recover in Singles, it was just difficult for him to adapt to the DLC that came very, very strong
i definitely agree that steve can be quite carried at times, but consistent ewgfs takes a lot of practice and skill. and even i could take a stock off a professional with arsene.

@@dzrk8183 I play kaz and doing ewgf consistently and doing the 0 to deaths aren't that difficult, the difficult thing for me is to play neutral without being predictable consistently. If you are not good at that you are going to get screwed against a good player that knows how to juggle correctly and not get grabbed by gates of hell at the ledge

you've got a good eye. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but gun isn't actually a projectile, it's a long and thin horizontal hitbox. It's probably thin enough that a bit of height can clear the hurtbox of the crafting table. The hurtbox of the crafting table is probably also shorter than the visual implies. Just goes to show Leo's matchup knowledge
Yeez.... Leo survived FOUR potentially finishing blows in nearly the last minute of the match: FIRST: The F-smash w/diamond sword from Onin at 85% ish while Riddles had him grabbed (1:03). SECOND: Being in the middle of Riddle's and Onin's up-smashes after being trapped by the minecart between two rock blocks (1:15) THIRD: The command grab from Riddles because of Onin's minecart (which was probably just pure luck, but still), which incidentally lead to Riddles being in a bad spot for Leo's b-air to take its final stock (1:23). FOUR: The f-throw instead of a up-throw by Onin... not sure if a misinput or just panic (1:48). And then he won... probably with the japanese version of his intro playing in his head. If this is not Plot armor, I don't know what it is then.
