Fubara on IPO Women Protest in Port Harcourt

In the early morning of Tuesday, June 25, 2024, corporate social responsibility (CSR) was demanded by members of the Ipo community in the Ikwerre Local Government Area, which houses the Port Harcourt International Airport in Rivers State.
The women were seen waving placards, singing, wailing, and cooking at the gate. Their actions caused a traffic buildup as passengers couldn’t access the airport, and operations temporarily halted due to the protest.
Governor Sim Fubara quickly intervened and addressed the issue, and the protesters have since peacefully vacated the airport gate.
