    When I was a kid spot #3 was called "Home of the Coho" I spent many late summers and early falls drift buzz bombing about 150-200 feet from shore. Down maybe 35-50 feet. Aggressive jigging, lots of Springs.

    Are we allowed to use the treble hooks that come included in the package with buzz bombs? So long as they're barbless of course...thanks!

    • @kaze987
      @kaze987 Před 3 lety +1

      Just to clarify I like in BC TIdal Area 28, so Vancouver area. I'm finding lots of conflicting info online and the regs aren't easy to read

    • @buzz-bomb
      @buzz-bomb Před 3 lety +2

      It is very area specific so asking a local or local store that knows where you will be going is key. Generally speaking in BC you can be treble barbless, but in some popular river to ocean delta areas you have to be single barbless from certain marked points. When in doubt tie on a single barbless as fines are guaranteed for non compliance...there is also a difference between fresh and salt water places

    That’s genius. I was just trying to decide how i was going to keep the zzinger snug with a hoochie. Never thought of a rigid wire. What gauge?

    • @buzzbombtackle
      @buzzbombtackle  Před 2 lety +1

      The lure he is using is a Spinnow UV Herring 0.66oz. "The Spinning Minnow - Triple Sonic Action" It comes with a wire spun already. Available in Hot Pink also (which is very popular for the Pinks

    You don't need much of a shoreline drop at all. I would have expected needing more of a ledge.

    Is a 2oz spinnow too big for pinks from shore? I live in Comox - willing to share your first two spots? Lol

    • @renownriverspnw5314
      @renownriverspnw5314 Před rokem

      That’s pretty big I’d use a smaller buzz bomb with a hootchie on the back preferably pink or green- although I haven’t caught em on a jig it can be done tho!

  • @bsdgffishtuna5186
    @bsdgffishtuna5186 Před 3 lety

    you ever use a hoochie on the bb?

    • @buzz-bomb
      @buzz-bomb Před 3 lety

      The issue with a hoochie, or any addition to the set up (ie. Lure, bumper, hook) is that it changes the balance of the set up and the lure falls incorrectly. On a constant reel in or when trolling that is less of an issue but it is an often forgotten aspect of the buzz bomb, zzinger - it creates the sonic rotation and stunned bait fish meme by falling horizontally. A hooch will hang up the end of the rig and have the lure off balance. Basically you don't need the squid to get the fish you want, just match your colours. I like Perch or yellow red finishes when the feed is squid (ie. A hoochie is getting hit).

    What length of rod do you use?

    • @chainsawmilling
      @chainsawmilling Před 2 lety +1

      That rod is a 7'6" Gloomis E6X inshore. You can use any length rod but I find 7 - 8' foot is perfect for Pinks and Coho from the beach. If your fishing for Springs typically you go a bit longer like 7.5 - 9 foot.

    • @speedbird1598
      @speedbird1598 Před 2 lety

      @@chainsawmilling Do 9 foot rods help with longer casts? I have a 8'6 25-40 but it's too stiff to really enjoy fishing with, my 9'6 is 6-12 and would break with most larger jigs, and my twitching rod that can cast big jigs all day long is a 7'6

    • @chainsawmilling
      @chainsawmilling Před 2 lety

      @@speedbird1598 Every rod is different. For springs I would go medium action 8 - 9foot rod 15 - 30 lbd range.
