2020 KAWASAKI NINJA 1000SX FULL REVIEW - A VERY USABLE SUPERBIKE

  • I spent a month riding the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX all over Southern California and found it to be a very usable superbike. You can run it on the track and get crazy, then attach the optional KQR hard saddlebags and take a friend on a weekend roadtrip.
    The Ninja 1000's speed is incredible and it handles very well due to all the Kawasaki technology like adaptive ABS, cruise control, traction control and different drive modes.
    Here is my full motorcycle review and riding video for the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX.

    Just a heads up, Kawasaki now has a low profile seat for this bike that is narrower at the front than the stock seat. This allows the legs to be closer together so you have more reach, which might solve the height issue.

      First, thanks for watching the video and for your comment. Is it available in the US? When I did this review in May 2021, there was a lower seat available in the US, but it only lowered it less than an inch. There was a Euro lower seat that lowered it almost 3 inches, but that was not available in the US. I am talking about Kawasaki seats, not aftermarket.

While riding you don’t feel much of weight but the one i test ridden was leaning bit towards right may be because of injured shoulder. The moment i sat on z900 i felt in love with ninja 1000. Yes, there are multiple riding modes. Kawasaki keeps it simple, with Sport, Road, and Rain modes. Sport and Road offer full power, though the Road mode has a less aggressive throttle response. Traction control is at a minimum in the Sport mode, and kicked up a bit for the Road mode.

    Is this bike too heavy for a beginner-intermediate skill rider? I am 5'5" and 28 inseam. I am comparing bikes around this price point. Like 15k OTD. Aprilia RS 660, KTM 890 duke R, kawasaki zx6r and some adventure bikes. I know they are different categories but like I said I tend to compare prices. Will be using mainly for commute to and from work, so a lot of freeway riding and split laning :)

    • @FreddySherman
      @FreddySherman  Před 3 lety

      given your height, which is the same as mine, I would say yes it's too big and heavy for a beginner or intermediate rider. It's also probably overpowered for what you would need as an intermediate rider for commuting. The engine is twice as big as what you really need for what you said you want to do with it. The bike is also very tall unlike a cruiser bike so it's hard to control when you're not moving for us shorter riders.

My SV650 threw off a great deal of heat and my '98 Triumph T595 Daytona throws off a considerable amount as well. How much you feel depends upon what you are wearing. Most of the heat on the Ninja is at the seat/tank interface. Maybe the newer models have better heat management or different ducting.

    • @FreddySherman
      @FreddySherman  Před 3 lety +1

      I have not ridden the Yamaha so I really can't comment on the differences. I did check it out online and I think the Ninja is more of a sportbike than the Tracer 9. Also this bike is heavier and more powerful with a bigger engine. I think if you want a serious sportbike / superbike with saddlebags and other touring features, the Ninja is for you. Thanks for watching the video and for your comment. I'm probably more travel-focused than anything as I'm mainly a travel writer.
      Keep in mind not everyone who reviews bikes is an expert or even a daily rider. I'm honest about my experience and that I only get these bikes for a week or two so it's tough to learn everything about them. Also, people don't like long reviews, so it's difficult to include all the info I want to as the video would be 30 minutes long.
      My reviews reflect my real level of experience, I have been riding street bikes for 30+ years but casually, like many people. I do think they give people a good look at the bike and a good idea of what it's like to ride.
      Again, thanks for watching and I hope you'll watch some of my other bike videos before you pass judgement.
