What a way to explain electronics, it could be oversimplified but oh boy i liked it.
“If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself.” ~ Albert Einstein :D
Love having a better understanding of my favorite blaster

Thanks captian X, this will help me with re-doing my stampede entirely.
I had to draw out the wiring diagram to really understand where I was going wrong but this will help me get my stampede working again when I get the wire I need to finish it.
I always wanted to do a Stampede mod. I mean, I obviously need to find a Stampede I didn't buy at Goodwill for $12 that was literally missing a gear box, but yeah, thanks for the tip!
Sergio Lopez i got a stampede at goodwill for five dollars
Nice job as usual 👍
Your Tim the Tool Man Taylor style presentation gets me amped to start getting more crafty in general. I'm looking to make my Stampede my first big project to be Named. Do you know of any motors that would be good upgrades for it?
Fantastic - just what I was looking for. Do you have any more videos like this that explain the wiring of other blasters?
Yes, most of them actually.
I have created a playlist. :D
hey captain, i dont know if this has been asked, but could you do a mod tips on how you do the aux jack control systems like on your shoulder cannons? i wasnt even aware you could use aux jacks and cables for that sort of thing!
Do a Monday mod tips on lipos
Hey Cap! Speaking of the Stampede, if you're a fan of Star Trek, have you ever considered making one look like a Phaser rifle?
You should do one on the select fire stryfe kits
Hey Cap, I’m getting occasional runaway of about 3 extra darts on my over volted Stampy. Is the return spring the one visible through the window on the side? Where would be a good place to get a beefier one? I have replaced the switch spring with a tac rail tooth spring which helped a little 😅
Yes, that is the return spring and I just doubled it with another one from another stampede
I was just wondering what the wiring guide would be because in the future, I might turn a regular springer into a full-auto springer. Also, does this apply to other full-auto springers like the Swarmfire or is the Stampede the only blaster this wiring applies to?
It might apply to the Vulcan but not the Revolvers.
Thank you
Flywheels are too loud
And springers don't have full auto
So the stampede is perfect for me!
Stampede is a springer and louder than most flywheelers IME
I captain x I think that you are awesome and eir is badass. How long did it take to make her?
5 years...give or take. I just kept adding features over the course of half a decade...
Yes
yes good vid.
What is that very cool board / circuit thing you are using to show us a physical example of the wiring diagram? And were does one score such a thing.
SnapCircuit.com ...I think
@@CaptainXavier Thank you, thank you!
Nice videos, i know you may have said this befor but whats a good spring upgrade for the stampede if just rewiring for lipo? thanks for you time..
4-6kg
Captain Xavier thanks Capt
Captain Xavier, if you didn’t know they posted you on Snapchat for the best modifies nerf guns and Tier was there, they stated that if you ever see it, you should run. Just informing you.
So I have heard! :D
do you have to run the positive through the on off switch or can you run leave it out. Just wondering if the stock switch will hold up. I'm going to run a blastertech 6kg in it. Do you think it will run off 2s?
No, the power switch is not strictly necessary. And no, I do not think 2s is enough for a 6k spring. 2s is only about 7v. A stock stampede (2k spring) runs on 9v.
@@CaptainXavier thanks for the helpful reply cap! How many cells would you recommend on a lipo
I’m going on my first goodwill hunt wish me luck
Edit: I got a hail-fire without the shield, a tub of LEGO , pedals, steering wheel and a flight stick for simulation games
So in total today was a good day
Good Luck!
Captain Xavier thanks !
I learned about needing the spring upgrades due to mine jamming every 6th dart on 14.8v
That was about the voltage I learned it on too! :D
Captain Xavier i cant remember have you stuck with just double springs or gotten aftermarket?
Both? I have a stock 2k and an aftermarket 4k...I think...
I still like mine back
Can you do a Nitron wiring guide?
Probably? I have never opened one...but I have been meaning to...it will be a while but I will get to it! :D
Captain Xavier Thanks. I'm trying to mod one but I have no idea what's going on in there and I can't find many good circuit diagrams for it.
I would really like this as well. i have a NiTRON mod in future plans
Nitron wiring guide would be very similar to the 3-switch wiring for a rapidstrike except it only has 1 flywheel motor.
You have rev trigger, main trigger and the cycle complete switch. All the same switches.
Now my question is, cam the stock on/off switch on a stampede work with lipos or is it too much volts?
Volts are not the issue. Amps are the issue. I have run EIR on 16v for years on the stock wiring and switch. Yet to have a failure. But I have been running her on IMRs which are lower current.
However, when I finally convert her to LiPo I will replace the switch and wires because LiPos can provide far more Amps.
@@CaptainXavier ah okay thank you so much. Just got myself a stampede and I can't wait to mod it
do you know what kind of spring you used for the battlescoust in k26 episode 24?
No idea.
ok thanks for replying
what kind of spring would you reccomend
Now say you had a jam, and you had that switch under the white lever arm, that would shear the gears also. In project nerfs guide he put the switch by the trigger which would stop when you pulled the trigger.
My question to you is will motor breaking damage the motor because I've built up my stampede rewired metal gears and 9kg 3s lipo and for some reason my motor stopped. The shaft and all the innards still rotate leading me to believe it's not seized and I tried hooking a AA up to see if it would turn and nothing happened. Anything is much appreciated
Motors do wear out. Especially if there is a short somewhere. Keep in mind, you cannot test the motor while it is wired up because of the motor breaking. It will short the system and nothing will work.
@@CaptainXavier I just recently found a copper tab that seemed out of place and pushed it back up hoping for a temporary fix. Do you have any replacement motors in mind. Some Reddit posts were saying get one with a lower wind count.
Also thanks a bunch for the fast reply I didn't think that I was actually gonna get one lmao
I was never able to find a good replacement Stampede motor. Torque is the issue.
I think Zeus size motors work, but unless you get the out of darts ones, they have less torque
Hey can you show the difference between live center and dead center three switch setups In preferably a Nitron or a Rapidstrike, I’m making a modern boom nitron and don’t know if an overvolted wolverine will run away in a live center circuit.
Dead center is just a Hyperfire wiring. You simply remove the pusher arm return switch. I am pretty sure I explain this in both the Rapidstrike and the Hyperfire diagram videos.
Dead center is a type of three switch setup that coasts the motor instead of continuing the power to the pusher, is it hits the switch it breaks the motor, can you compare that
You are correct! I miss read the diagram. So...if you already know exactly how it works...what is you question?
Also...why I you commenting this on the Stampede Wiring video and not the Rapidstrike wiring video?
Because I am tired from skool
Can u give us a basic Nerf Regulator 2S mod (maybe with motor change)? Greetings from Hungary ;)
Nope, there is nothing "basic" about the Regulator. :(
Is the Vulcan wired the same way?
More or less. It does not have cycle control.
@@CaptainXavier Ok thanks!
Hi cap
hi
Now the wiring diagram for afterburners please
It is exactly the same as any flywheel blaster...just more flywheels...
But for afterburners to work doesnt each one have to be going faster than the next . How do you increase and decrease the speed
+tristin rowland run the afterburners on a higher voltage with more powerful motors. If the first set is 130 motors on a 2s, the second set needs to be a 180 with a 3s.
You either use resistors or you use different power motors.
Use mtb honey badgers or wolverines
Do a worrying guide of a doominator
um...the Doominator is a Springer...
Captain Xavier what difference does that make
Wait...you said a "worrying guide." I assumed you meant a "wiring guide" and was confused because the Doominator does not have wires. What did you mean?
Captain Xavier I’m kidding...
Can you do a hammershot were it's cylinder opens like a revolver tutorial please
get a dremel and saw it in half idiot
I have an interesting idea, hear me out......, Magnum Superdrum drum + Adapter + leaf blower = thunder gun of darts
3s lipo , k14 , 3s motor ,brass breech and metal internal is possible with it ?
Can you do a graffiti stampede
Mew Reviews & more a what?
Could I send you a Nerf gun and can you mod it if so how much?
No, I am not taking commissions right now.
Captain Xavier oh ok can you let me know when. You do?
I'll announce it when I am open...and promptly get buried by 50,000 requests...
Captain Xavier oh xd
H
(Is the best letter) Is the Stampede the one with the shield?
yes
