RULES:
The object of the game is to be the first player to move all four of your colored pegs around the board and into your finish line. Setup: layout the board and each player picks 4 pegs of one color and places them in the matching color HOME spaces. Each player rolls the die by pressing the POP-O-MATIC once. The player with the highest number goes first, play then proceeds clockwise. If there is a tie, the tied players reroll.
On your turn, pop the dice once and move if possible, moving one peg in the play track the exact number of spaces popped. The play track is the outer circular ring of spaces excluding the home and finish spots. If the number 6 is popped, you get to pop and move again. In order to get a peg out of home you must pop a 6. If you do, move one peg onto the start space and pop again.
If an opponent’s peg occupies a space you move to, you take that space and return the opponent’s peg to their home space. You may not move to the same space one of your own pawns already occupies. If you have no valid move, your turn ends.
Pegs always move clockwise around the board on the play track. When they make it to your finish line, you must land each one in, by exact count, one of the 4 possible empty spaces. The first player to get all their pegs in their finish line, wins. - Jak na to + styl
Just bought this game the instructions say "You don't have to enter the FINISH zone by an exact count. Move your peg into the first open FINISH space closest to the POP-O-MATIC. But i do remember as a kid i played it like the video
It wasn't until I bought Trouble to play with my own kids that I realized my mom completely made up her own way of playing it. I guess she was confused by the instructions as well, lol. And honestly...I prefer it her way.
What were the rules?
Trouble is based on the game Ludo, with minor differences.
And thus, there will be other variation due to it.
There are many ways to play this game. Rules can be adapted or changed to make it more interesting or challenging. Friends of mine would play for money. The winner of the game would collect a dollar from each opponent's piece that did not get to the finish zone, a separate tally was kept for "kills" and a quarter for each time an opponent was sent back home was paid to the winner of the "kills" list. For example, if I won for the most "kills" with 20 and you only had 16 "kills", then you owed me for 4 kills difference, or $1. Made for an even more frustrating game sometimes.
Hey thanks. This is the best tutorial on this game I watched. So clear. Short and to the point. Couldn't understand the terrible rules in the box. This guy breaks it down nicely. Easy peasey. Great.
Never new Ludo is a pure luck based game. Thanks for the review
Thank you! My 4 year old was arguing the rules and this cleared it up for him lol. He was adamant that you couldn't pass up your own pieces!
1:02 LOL he said "pawns"
Jim must be thinking of Sorry.
Bruh
Thanks 👍, I always use your videos for instructions when I buy a new board game
For both this and Sorry I think it makes for a better game to instead have three pegs/pawns in the Home area and one on the Start space. Also a two player game with one player controlling blue and green and the other controlling red and yellow also makes it considerably more interesting.
great content. keep up the good work
What happens if you have one space to get the last finish space in the mandalorian version? Do you lose because if you get a 1 you lose the turn and the other player gets to get one out of home.
When I was in Elementary school, when I played Trouble, they told me that you must pop a “6” or a “1” in order to move their peg out of their Home space.
I bought a new version of it and yea it says to roll a 1 to move to the start spot. Also they changed the exact count rule. Now you can go home on any count.
Actually correction. Roll a 1 and the OTHER players move a piece to Start. Roll a 6 and YOU move either a piece to Start or move 6 spaces.
@@kemy6775 It's the sad story of "let's give everybody a medal" modern society kind of world we are in now. Or let's just make it super easy.
I love your videos
Thank you!
What happens when if you land on the warp right in front of your safe zone? Do you get sent halfway across the board or do you ignore it since it would make you pass your safe zone?
What if you have just one last piece left and it's one away from finish? Since rolling one only allows your opponent(s) to move it's impossible to win
I played this game a ton as a kid. Yet my version of the game doesn't have those WARP spaces the one you used does. What is supposed to happen with the warp? However, I always thought you had to land by exact count when making it to the finish line.
We have a game exactly like this in Italy, except that we roll the dice the "traditional" way and the board is just a piece of cardboard, no plastic. It's called "Non ti arrabbiare" ("Don't get mad")
Thank you I almost forget how to play
You didn’t mention double trouble, the warp space, or when you roll a 1
I know, I just did the classic rules

Did you know, when I played the game Trouble, a person can also pop a “1” in order to get their peg to come out of their Home space?
Well your younger than the classic rules I guess
@@shinysnivy5903 I guess so, I'm currently 29 years old, and I'll be 30 in a month and a half!
Apparently my family believes that you can not pass your own peg like you did at the end. Can anyone else confirm or deny that you can pass your own peg?

What if an opponent is in your start space and you get a 6? Do you send their pawn home and replace it with yours?

I don't see the point in calling a color with a wild card if both your penultimate card and your last card are wild cards in Uno.
Can you do how to play La Loteria please.
