As an Army Brat, change was something I got used to and even looked forward to. We moved every two or three years, quite often in the middle of a school year. I had four high schools. I learned to make friends quickly and tough as it could be I don't think I'd trade it for another life. Thinking about it now, I'm sure that being in a church-going Christian family gave me an anchor through all the moves.

Classical Gas is a blast from my Jr. High past (couldn't help myself). Always enjoy hearing you play the 12 String Guitars and I do like your Godin guitars. Yes, Holy Holy Holy is our God now and forever. We are awfully Glad God has provided for you to have all the excellent guitars including the marvelous Kirk Sand nylon strung guitar you do have. We are blessed to hear you play the old favorite hymns and contemporary Christian tunes too.

Having lost my father from Alzheimer’s in March I can understand what you are going through. One of the things we all suffer from at times is trying to rely on our own understanding when the bible tells us to not rely on our own understanding. In fact it was such a natural thing for Jesus to perform miracles that John I wanna say C5 v28 says “do not marvel at this”. There’s nothing more certain than your mother being in Gods memory and the book of life.

I do enjoy the fullness of your playing. Been playing with a complete band at my new church for the past year, after playing with one other instrument, two tops, for years and years. It is a different experience, this full band, and the fullness is in the whole. So I’ve learned to listen for the hole in the sound and play into it, and together we make that full sound. Sometimes though, I’ve found if you’re careful not to overdo it, the time comes to build, and that acoustic guitar can reach under the sound and push up the dynamics to where they need to be. If you listened to that part you may not even hear my guitar but it’s there underneath, like a backbone, pushing up that sound. So that’s been my transition, learning to play the 2-4 strings (or more) that are needed to make music together. Good stuff.
‘Course, I’m playing with solo fullness at home, loving that sound too. Love this episode; change is a challenge, but “the bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you refuse to take the turn.” I’ll take the turn, see what God has down that way.
And thanks for the tips; dropped C and a banjo roll. Something to work on this week!

Sounds like they already have it, but I sent up a little prayer. I’m in the same boat, and understand your predicament. I have to say that certainly if we were called to completely isolate ourselves from “them”, we would have to ask why Jesus chilled with sinners, or why He created the world as vulnerable as it is in the first place. I get a little annoyed by the alarmist, although well meaning, folk who say, “you need to pull your kids out of school!”, as if our kids and their kids won’t eventually share space (like at work).
All I can say is that our faith is being tested, and it might just be due to the lethargic attitude of Christians in this country. We’ve enjoyed immense freedoms while our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world have always suffered persecution. God loves us, and our hearts for righteousness and genuine concern, our likelihood to now cry out in prayer, have got to be precious to Him.
🔥 let’s show them what we are made of! 🔥

What a great, on-time word for me personally, brother Doyle! I have said so many times over the years that the day we stop changing is the day we are rolled down the aisle at our funeral service. Time or space will not allow me right here to tell you some of the changes and transitions we have been going through in the last 4 months particularly, and the last year and a half generally. But God is showing Himself strong in our behalf! Hallelujah! This is a word of encouragement and confirmation! God bless you, sir! See you soon!
