  • First tsunami waves threatened and made the sea route to monuments of Vivekanandarock and Thiruvalluvarstatue as DRIED.Please see the shots. Then slowly the sea route was filled up and prediction scenario alerted that something will have come horribly.     Sometimes with a Tsunami a wave trough arrives first. Followed a short time later by a crest - the Tsunami. It depends on how the sea bed moved with the triggering earthquake. If it dropped the trough will come first if it rose then the crest will come first. The important point is if you see sea level dropping quickly dont go and see the interesting exposed sea bed just run to high ground as fast as possible!

      @Aluzky that's because Tsunamis and earthquakes don't happen much in this region...and the gawking crowds we have here in India..the moment some novel is seen!
