Wind it up (Bonus Beats) was sampled from N.W.A. Express yourself
Yeah, a lot of the samples have been sampled prior to The Prodigy sampling them. There's also a Doug E Fresh sample from 'The Show' behind the opening 'Funky Shit' sample - Oh My God.

Liam is a Genius
Amazing work!
Good job man. Good job
Great video. Must have taken you ages. Loved the jilted generation ones!
what an investigation of music, epic !!
Wish Liam would do an album with samples again..
garlic CRUSH jim your right, that's whats missing!
Samples are a nightmare the clear these days - Itd be more of a headache than it’s worth I’d say
Licensing law is a nightmare, it just wouldn't be like it used to.
"The Heat, The Energy" also sampled "Thousand" by Moby.
Nice vid :)
Thank you :)
The Sitar loop reminds me of the PS1 startup
2:06👍👍👍
how did you know where all this samples came from , LIAM TOLD YOU ?
I remember the Jedi Knights got pissed off at the time because Liam sampled their track for Climbatize. I believe Liam then went and purchased the rights for the original source (Incredible Bongo Band Bongolia), and the media attention alerted someone in George Lucas’s camp that a group was using a copyrighted Star Wars name and forced them to change it :)
I love to instantly recognize Pink Floyd samples in Prodigy song.
6:20👍👍👍
Must of cost a few quid to clear those samples 😉....nice work investigating
8:14👍👍👍
I have to admit it Liam is a beast
incredible work, well done mate, i have no idea where you found some of those..
Climbatize doesn't sample Won't Get Fooled Again though, it's just a very obvious, faithful loving homage to it, not meant as a stealth sample, in the same way Daft Punk pastiche Supertramps Dreamer in Digital Love. A hat tip, not a sample.
10:12👍👍👍
Pretty sure 'sitar loop' @7:50 is an Alice Coltrane sample.
jilted generation intro is from 'darkman 2',, and 'your love' i think you should watch 'so i married an ax murderer' ;-)
Why have I never heard of Ultramagnetic MCs (or half the artists in these samples for what it's worth)?! I'm 40
Winx don't laugh is then actually from a Bonzo Dog track.
12:54 , it's not diesel power, oops ;)
( It's funky shit )
Break & Enter - Michael Jackson (glass smash + vocal sample) and Baby D - Casanova (vocal samples).
which song of Michael Jackson ?
The one where he goes "HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
No, seriously I cannot remember now. I've been listening to them for around 24-25 years, since Experience was released and it was just after Music for the Jilted Generation was released that I found out about M.J's samples. There are also a lot of other samples from different groups/artists missing from these videos. I've only stuck with those two albums.
Did Liam go back to the future just to steal Josh Wink's sample? :D
Nah, I think Josh Wink uses that sample right after Prodigy took it.
what were dealing with here is a total lack of respect for the law. the good fellas.
Sadly not - i['m hunting for this sample - but its not the commonly qouted SattB, Good Fellas or Unlawful Entry.
@@loggyboy Some of his film samples were just re-spoken, this may be one of them. After the mess with Full Throttle I guess he didn't want to get done over again.
Bollocks. Full throttle came from Star Wars IV
Though Liam may just have sampled it from Ultra. The laugh also comes from For A Few Dollars More, but he could just as easily sampled it from Depth Charge. czcams.com/video/obLl9d3ZUmA/video.html
Originally from Star Wars yes, but given how much Liam has sampled from Critical Beatdown it’s highly likely Break North was the source of the sample
The Scream in Jericho is from James Brown not AC/DC.
Just reverse the scream of "FIRE!" and you got your sample.
Well it still doesn't quite the same. the James Brown sample that that is from is 100% the same though.
The Prodigy's Missing Samples (Part 1)
Heyy maan. funny you didn't include one very obvious sample, the vocal "Oh my god that's the funky shit" that comes from the Beastie boys' "Root Down".. ? :)
ExtremeenterpriseV2 That's Terminator X's "No Further" featuring Section 8, not Genaside II's "50000 Watts (or Whats, whatever you want to call it)".
Plus I think the last sample on this video (Serial thrilla /Nirvana) was first used in the Prodigys 'Rat Poison' (b-side from 'Poison' ep 1995)
@@Juha_Virtanen "Poison" on "Music for the Jilted Generation" in 1994 b-side
You forgot to mention "the lawnmower man" sample in the intro of 'Music for the Jilted generation'
Because its not a sample. Its a friend of Liam who rerecorded that line. Its a little different to the original.
But wait I remember than The "full throttle" is reversed on the album ;-; Is it just on a album or it was on the One Love single too?
It's just the album version that's backmasked.
One Love's Full Throttle is not Backmasked.
"For Pete's Sake" turns out to be an interpolation due to clearance issues. No wonder the Voodoo People mix one sounds like a stoner.
What we are dealing with here sample is from the movie "style wars" not Smokey and the Bandit.
I cant find that quote in the Style Wars film (assuming you meant the 1983 graffiti doc). Do you have any ideas where it is from?
A sound byte from a police officer.
I watched it all ealier and couldn't find it. Maybe i missed it!!
Could be a head of police or police chief saying it.
OMG THE PRODIGY- SHINING?? YES! Liam=GOD
Its all based on the amen drum solo
Some of their music sounds great for a video game.
12:57 funky shit not diesel power
6:08 and 8:14 are both wrong.
yep, totally different
fuck sake! what da hell is in the head of Liam? :-)
