Those who become dragons may lose themselves, but their ambitions always remain. Ganondorf’s ambition for destruction persisted even through losing his mind
So to that end can we talk about how Zelda’s love for Link is so deeply rooted into her mind that she STILL came to his aid at his darkest hour?!

This battle wasn't about its difficulty, the Ganondorf's duel was, but this is one is for rather showing the wielders of the triforce at their finest.
Ganondorf and how he did whatever it takes to gain the maximum power, becoming an unrecognizable beast even BEYOND Ganon.
Zelda and how she decided to sacrifice everything to play one final gambit, putting all her faith in Link, becoming a selfless being that despite having no memories knew how fateful the battle between Link and the Demon Dragon was.
Link putting the weight of destiny on his shoulders, traveling through the sky, the entire kingdom and even the darkness in the depths for Zelda and Hyrule, now on a deathmatch with all the eyes of the kingdom on him.
Power, Wisdom and Courage, breaking their limits.

This is a culmination of all the battles that came before, between these three. A reincarnation of a goddess, a reincarnation of the mortal who stood up on her behalf, and a reincarnation of a demon king who vowed to return to menace these two who could stand against him.
Two polar opposites of light and dark, and the mortal who bravely stepped forward to decide the fate of the world they fought over.

Leitmotifs are wonderful. It really captures the sheer will it takes to regain even the slightest bit of herself as a dragon to come to your aid. I don’t think we give Zelda enough credit, because if there’s a game where she really gave her all to help you, it’s this one. She practically killed herself just for you to have the chance to end Ganondorf once and for all, and yet she _still_ manages to come back and fight by your side in the end. 10/10

Although the final attack wasn't nearly as visually cool as something along the lines of stabbing Ganondorf in the head in Wind Waker, it earns its place in the hall of fame for the story behind it. The transition in the music tells you you're nearing the end, and when you see the final weak point and know what you have to do, the Light Dragon's final push almost feels like Zelda herself encouraging you to go forth and end the fight. You're carried into position by the Light, then jump down into the Darkness in order to destroy it for good.

This fight truly felt like the fate of all of hyrule’s time and space rested on this one battle, Link and Zelda’s friends, family, and ancestors watching them, cheering them on from wherever to put the final nail in the coffin to end it all, break the cycle, and finish the Legend of Zelda.

It's like what people said about Dark Beast Ganon being a "finish him" phase after you had already beaten the real final boss. Unlike Dark Beast though, Demon Dragon is a finish him phase done right. It has a much better reason for the fight being the way it is, that being Ganondorf's mind being lost as the Demon Dragon, and it's a much more compelling setpiece with both Zelda and Ganondorf having sacrificed all that they are in the name of Light and Darkness respectively. It's a final showdown between Light and Darkness in their purest form.

Before the game's release, many of us were hyped to learn of Ganondorf's role in this story and fight him again after so long, but we didn't give too much thought to the impact defeating him would have on Hyrule. This man was the source of several Calamities that brought great danger upon Hyrule, one of which completely ravaged it, and his defeat means the definitive end of the Calamity and countless centuries of peace for the kingdom. This song embodies that; the defeat of evil at the hands of one man with a sword of light and the entirety of Hyrule behind him.

And don’t forget that this might be the *ORIGINAL* Ganondorf. The battle against Ganondorf in this game could be one against the very first threat the world faced after Demise’s death and an evil that has terrorized the world for perhaps a 100,000 years. Truly, this battle might be one of the most important events in the entire Zelda timeline.

I'm pretty sure the demon dragon IS calamity Ganon. The game stated numerous times that the dragons are immortal, and it would explain why it was trying so hard to regenerate a body in BotW. There was never any indication of calamity Ganon being Ganondorf's power leaking through Rauru's seal, and the secret stone Ganondorf stole from Sonia had power over time.

    • @sandjgaez257
      @sandjgaez257 Před 11 měsíci +8

@@joshuabanks91 Sorry, I don’t quite understand what you’re trying to say. We see Ganondorf become the Demon Dragon. While the design does seem to be an intentional reference, it is made clear that it is something different from Calamity Ganon.
Additionally, we can see during the intro of TotK that some of Ganondorf’s power can leak out even while the seal is still (mostly) intact, so Calamity Ganon being a build-up of escaped power makes sense, especially since it emerges from below Hyrule castle itself.
Also, secret stones only amplify their owner’s power; so Ganondorf’s secret stone having been previously owned by Sonia is irrelevant.

All the dragons we fought as bosses were controlled/revived by ganondorf's power. Someone probably remembered he got the last name of dragmire (i forget where its said) and thought it'd be funny and cool he finally became a dragon as his name implies.

The toughening, wear-you-down battles at the start after a gauntlet descend into Ganondorfs lair.
