- Fasten Master is shaking things up in the world of construction fasteners with their new MVP screws. But what exactly are these MVP screws, and how are they different from the myriad of other screws in the market?

Dear DR Decks. FYI I spent well over $1200 with FastMaster SOLEY because of your channel.
I wish I would have seen these over using the Simpson sd 2.5 inch structural screws that I cant get flush now, Fascia issues.....
Are these strong enough and long enough to secure 16" O.C. blocking between joists which will be used to lay a 2x6 parallel to the joist so that I can lay decking on to picture frame a large deck?
An impact driver is overkill for short self-drilling screws. A drill-driver set to the proper torque limit is sufficient and will reduce the likelihood of over-driving the screw.
From what I see online prices are a little cost prohibitive
He’s probably sponsered
I use them for the ledger board, they are rated structural as a lag bolt.
@@howtodoitdude1662 those are different this is a regular 3 inch screw not a ledger lok you shouldn’t be using these to attach a ledger
Grk rules
Run it half way in and smack it from the side with a hammer
It will snap if you do that, but it won’t snap if it’s supported with material around it as it’s intended for.
Exactly it will snap nails will bend
So a common deck screw will snap..... what makes this screw structure then
@@randallmouser5609, how do you know it will break/snap? Have you tried it? I bet it'll bend somewhat...
That is my question to Dr Decks......
I would like to have seen that in the video
The hope is that it would not snap
why ,in any case, would you do that?
