I don't know why he dislikes Japanese wrestling for example. It's hard to take him seriously when he mocks/dismisses the ability of someone like Asuka, who is widely praised as one of the best and toughest women wrestlers in the world.
Don't forget his profound respect for Baba and Inoki. His problem with modern Japanese wrestling is, ironically, that it's become too Americanized (IE, phony shit).

I love Jim. The big thing with him is that he really hamms it up with his anger and the ridiculous insults he has which makes it hilarious but at the same time, you can see where his frustrations come from. Most of his criticisms of matches/the product and the presentation of everything hold weight because he really takes the time to analyze shit and why it doesn't work/looks too coordinated and unrealistic or why he thinks it's great.
Cornette is an industry treasure. I appreciate and respect his takes because whether it jives with me or not it's his decades of exposure and knowledge of wrestling he wastes no time sugarcoating shit about philosophy, psychology and how he feels about whomever is disgracing the business on whatever night between the two companies. In his view one is overly sterile "entertainment" sometimes missing points of substance (Brian, Jim's co-host places that on Bruce Prichard. Bruce and Jim have a little bad blood but not on a Russo level).....and All Friends Wrestling more often than not resembles a poorly booked modern outlaw mud show with twice the cosplay. A lot has changed in the last two decades but at least neither one is as irelavent as Impact or Control Your Narrative. That's gotta count for something.

Booker vs Benoit Best of Seven in WCW was really good and engaging. Depends on the performers, really. I think The Elite vs Death Triangle is a fun match and I'd be happy to watch it 7 times if they do different fun things and not stick to a formula.
Booker vs Benoit worked because you had one wrestler who was better character, mic and promo guy and was mega over and one was a better in ring storyteller who was mega over But both were characters I know Benoit is a piece of shit for killing his son and wife , but I'll say he wasn't just a in ring worker , even when he didn't talk you saw he was a larger than life character, he was like if wolverine was a pro wrestling in fact that's why he came up with "The rabid wolverine" gimmick because fans wrote him letters calling him that and chanted wolverine during his matches when he was in ecw

Booker vs Benoit Best of Seven in WCW was really good and engaging. Depends on the performers, really. I think The Elite vs Death Triangle is a fun match and I'd be happy to watch it 7 times if they do different fun things and not stick to a formula.
When booked right there great. Unfortunately this best of 7 isn't.
Booker vs Benoit worked because you had one wrestler who was better character, mic and promo guy and was mega over and one was a better in ring storyteller who was mega over
