- Ben Tomlinson is a Reconnaissance Marine injured in Afghanistan in 2010. When he returned home, his hometown of Jacksonville, Alabama rallied around him. Gary Sinese is one the few celebrities that really gets it. I applaud him for sacrificing so much for us veterans.
I can't imagine how life changing such an injury can be for someone. I also served in the USMC in Iraq 2 tours. I was a POG though so I was always spellbound at the bravery of the grunts and special ops. They were in hell risking thier lives every day carrying heavy equipment constantly being yelled at by superiors and enduring conditions that would break 99 percent of the population.
Ben if you are reading this know that you paid a price because very few people in this world have your kind of courage. Many people think they understand what you went through and are currently going through but you and I know that most of them don't have a clue. I have no doubt that without people like you this world would be overrun with unimaginable evil and human suffering. Your selflessness is the only reason people have the freedom to sit comfortably without ever having to pick up arms and defend themselves. What you did was more moral and loving than any charity or fundraiser could ever hope to be. Semper Fi brother. I know it's difficult but keep your head up.

The man deserves an honorary Marine Corps commission or at least a civilian honor like the Kennedy Center Honors for the good he has done and the continued respect and support he demonstrates for our veterans.
