Awesome! You will be very happy regardless which one you get! They are a LOT of FUN!! The only thing I envy from the Venom is the axles. Wait the two weeks, get it built, and start having fun!!!!

Stock the Axial has much to be desired. The ride height has been lowered, the upper link mounts at each axle have been raised, the transmission has been flipped to reduce torque twist, and the lower links have been brought inboard at the chassis and outboard at the axle for greater stability. The stock SUPER HARD springs have been replaced with much, much softer springs, and 13 ounces of weights have been added for increased traction. Play with your suspension, you'll find it can be much better!

We both run 1500 mAh 7- and 8-cell 3/4A batteries from The Crawler Store. Playing like this we get about 35 mins on the 7-cell pack and about 45-mins on the 8-cell pack. Keep in mind that we are geared a bit low. If we run taller gearing then it will draw more amps. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for all the comments guys! My buddy has done a TON of modifications to his Venom and we hope to return to this rock for a rematch, hopefully sometime this fall :-)

Thanks for the comment! Are you referring to body roll? Perhaps you meant to say articulation? This Venom has mostly stock suspension components whereas I've done a lot of improvement to my Axial suspension, and it shows.

well other than the electronics you can make your rig highly water resistant, it's just extensive. Line tranny boxes/axle cases with marine grease and coat necessary parts like bearings/gears/axles with spray-on silicone (get the right stuff and it'll dry on leaving a smooth dry tack that repels water). I did this with my emaxx before a mud romp and everything was fine. It also helps to dry off your kit as best as possible after any runs.

@LJNERF The main waterproofing of an RC car involves sealing the speed controller and receiver from water. The rest is ok to use in water but I HIGHLY recommend AGAINST this unless you want to constantly be rebuilding your axles, transmission, and replacing servos. Water + gears and bearings is always a bad idea. This is just my personal preference and many people do play in the water, but I choose to not do this with my expensive toys. Thanks!

The venom is by far a very capable crawling machine, it just needs someone that knows how to crawl driving it. Anyone who says they dont like it just isnt up to par on driving or has a bias against the underdog bc they have less hype compared to the ax10. buying the venom was the best choice i made.

@diabetishead In general, higher turn motors develop more torque while lower turn motors develop more RPMs. So it's a trade off for power vs speed. Additionally, lower turn motors consume more battery power to operate, so by using a higher turn motor you will get a longer run time :-)

No offence, but the creeper owner knows nothing about suspension setup. Also, with the creeper you should try unlocking the rear diff as having it locked can cause it to torque up like that. You'll be amazed what they can do with open diffs.

the creeper looks like it doesn't have any tire weights which help a ton on the rocks

I cant really see what you done with the venoms shocks but either you have it shimmed too much or your choice in shock oil is too heavy. If thats not the problem then I would recommend getting softer shocks. The suspension is supposed to twist when one wheel is up on the rocks, instead the whole truck wants to go up and that makes the performance suffer allot.

@apb424. Mine dosen't. They may have done it to theirs but I've never herd of it. When they said put it in high it coulda been a joke. Like when your really offloading in 1.1 scale Rigs some stuff requires 4 low and others 4 high.

The venom has a 70 degree articulation but for some reason in this video it looks like a 10 degree, what's up with that?

do you have any idea what you are talking about. Tire weights are the best thing for rock crawling. matter of a fact they make after market rims that have ball bearings in them for added weight.

it seems the white one has stiffer springs, thus less articulation, my opinion, dont know much.
