I watched two Lightnings tail chasing, below 200ft, west of Bridlington just as they were going out of service. Two guys were having extreme fun, I was green with envy, but was grateful to be a witness. At the time, before I sighted them, I thought I was listening to a Vulcan doing aerobatics. It went on long enough for me to put a ladder up against the barn, so I could see them.
What a lovely chap! 22 (just) and flying a Lightning!
What a wonderful story! 👏👏👏👏👏
So cool. One of the baddest ever

If you have ever stood next to one with just one engine on full reheat you’ll know what I mean.
I was lucky enough to film a day there. Great team.
Thank goodness we've now got better missiles than the Redtop! 🙄
