As a Diamond player, the main thing I've noticed holding me and my teammates back from higher ranks is how often we hit the ball forward with power, but for no reason, just giving possession away instead of trying to set up a play
That's my teammate in a nutshell, while I'm over here always passing it to them in the center. Like why give away possession.
@@chadantoniosame, i have diamond tm8 s like that and unfortunately thats why i become a ballchaser, because i could do unsaveable stuff from wall even though i don't know how to use airroll properly, but i started to rank up when i stopped letting my teammates bang the ball away.
Don’t worry it still happens in champ, it’s just more consistent touches and quicker

This is the sort of RL content the world needs. Brief analysis at various skill levels and how to improve between those skill levels. I'd love to see this format more but with different players. Because not everyone in a skill bracket performs the same way in various situations, so seeing this sort of breakdown over many different players in each bracket would be such quality content.
Very true but I don't think that will happen soon. Thanovic told me even making this video took a month coz of issues with quality of submitted footage
@@Schoofsrl how long did it take you to get from GC to SSL? I am currently 1700 trying to get SSL and so far it has taken me 5 seasons since I first hit GC to get to this point
@@ryanc9287 it took me from S2 to S8 to get SSL in hoops and until S9 to get it in 2s. I hit GC at 2k hours, and SSL at around 4k.

The gold was miles better than the plat in the first bit
Plats are just weird man.. most of them play so badly, some of them are mechanical (cuz they practiced them alot), but some of them are actually decent

@@Kibannn true.. but we can't forget that Gold 1 & Gold 2 are different ranks despite having the same name. I'm guessing the guy in the video probably are Gold 3 and the other one is Platinum 1 or 2

when i hit gc2 last season i got to say is when i really believe in myself and had 100% confidence now days i’m not sure as much. i’m around gc1 div3 rn and i know what i need to work on. but something u brought up that soemtimes i forget is the ssl they know their limits what to go for. many times where in the end the ssl was backwards ariel and decide to drop bc he knew he couldn’t reach. everyone that happens to me i decide to stick with it and end up getting beat and score on.
Yup I just forced the opponent to do something, wasted time, and when my team mate got a better angle I went down and let them challenge for me

I'm commenting about players who don't flip in kickoffs up in plat/diamond (was me) It's due to the consistency you get with the final ball contact and the fact that the other player is often slow as well. It's hard for lower ranked players to be accurate in their first flip so the best way to have a consistent kickoff is just to drive straight at it. Now that I'm in d3-c1 I'm seeing more fast kickoffs . so the plain drive and even frontflip often isnt fast enough. So now working on a good speedflip on kickoff which is a process.
this, I'm a 1's main and at a lower rank I really learned how to read the opponents movement so I could hit the ball in the correct position during the kickoff, speed was never an issue so that's what I got used to, now as a low diamond I'm seeing speedflip kickoffs all the time and while it's still more than possible to read it and hit the ball after they get the first touch, it's really not ideal. I'm trying to get just a normal flip kickoff down so I still keep the consistency and after that work on the speedflip kickoff which is going to take way longer lol
For me it's actually because I lose the kick off on diagonal center. If it's corners I go for boost and take the ball with boost. I win way more this way than speedflipping on the ones I lose

It's really cool to see how toxic people are at champ cause they think they deserve grand champ but then if you compare the two replays, you then realise that you don't at all and there are lots of improvements, this has really opened my eyes as a hardstuck c1 - c2 for 1 year for what to work on to get gc lol :)
Haha. I‘m hardstuck in diamond for 1 year. Throughout this year I think I have played like 1200-1300 hours becuase I almost have 1500 and got diamond with 122 hours. How do I know? Epic games and photos.
Btw. I reached d2 just the next hour(123) and d3 with 1134 hours
Edit: No the reason for the 1000 hour gap is not that I got boosted. I did that all myself with my goalkeeping skills. The difference between d1-d3 is just crazy big. Bigger than Bronze 1 - p1

Yeah it took me like a year and a half to move from c2 to gc and now I been gc for about 2 years. The difference between someone who recently hit gc to someone who has been there for a while made it to gc2-3 a couple times is miles different too. It’s a grind for sure
this helped me from being diamond 1 going to diamond 2 div 3 already just because at recoveries u said boost managment. Thats when i learned about that. Thank you so much Thanovic and great Video by the way ♥

You should do a video on estimating the hapiness of each rank. Overall outlook on game, reactions to great goals. How much they watch videos. What they do to stay happy when not playing. Idk just an idea. Cool video
Stopped playing after 4K hours and hitting GC. Had an absolute blast playing with friends and still watch pro games, but sweating ranked 2s as a solo Q is brutal tbh. When my friends stopped playing, so did I.

This video truly was nice to watch and I can see you put a lot of effort to it, there's just one thing that I think could be improved : when you're trying to teach someone something, it's important to give actionnable advice.
There are points in the video where you advise the players to play faster, think faster, etc., but it's not really something you can work on by itself. Players in higher ranks DO play faster, but you can't really improve by solely trying to do so.
So, pointing out the fact that there is a speed difference between ranks can be a good thing, but you can't really tell someone to play faster or think faster.
Other than that, once again, I enjoyed the video, it was really well put together, and I can't wait to delve even more in your RL content !

Interesting video ! There's one thing I have come around on, I remember on one of your old kick off tutorial I think you said that you should always try to flip on kick offs, you also were surprised to see lower ranked players not flipping in their gameplay in this video. I used to try to apply this way of thinking to my own gameplay, but I would say that at a C2 level in 2s, a third of the players still don't flip on kick offs, and have found ways to counter most kick offs with different timing on their dodges. I used to think it was stupid, and still think it's not going to help them train on the long run, but with the consistency of most champs players on their flips or speedflips, I have to admit that not flipping, at least at my level, is absolutely viable and can be consistent. My wife, with whom I play 100% of my 2s games, is also C2 and that's the only kick off she does, she's just developed different timings depending on her opponents. I have thus added the run straight at the ball kick off to my arsenal in my 2s ranked games, mixing it with diagonal and speedflips. However, I agree that in 1s if you don't speedflip you're going to be hopeless past D2 !

Right, like it's cool n all but I'd rather just not let the ball fly at the goal that's the important part. Or the goalie should wait till after kickoff to leave the net open for a second.

Thank you for letting me participate! These tips are so helpful! Yes, I know, I was a champ that didnt speed flip and I hated it. For some reason I just couldnt get the movement down. But after coming back from Boston LAN Ive had more confidence and have started speed flipping in every game since.

@@Lynix27 I could but my basic kickoff got me all the way to peak GC1 so I didnt see a point to change something that's working. Also if I want to flip on a kickoff I want to do it right with an actual speed kickoff.

Plats are weird bro... I use to be plat, but I thank my past self for practicing aerials when I use to be Bronze 3.. aerials and some mechanics such as air dribbles got me out of Plat and into Diamond and Champ.
I created over 10 training packs so I can get good at saves from various angles, and get good at shots from uncomfortable angles
Bro some days I play like a diamond and some days I play c1-2 it really just depends on how much mental energy I have.

I noticed from watching GC and SSL games that I play around GC2 level but I just can't get up higher than Champion 1 most of the times even though I've been at 1431mmr already and keep dropping from C2 and C3 back to C1 and I honestly think it is because I solo queue. My defense is really good and it is often my teammates that hesitate or go too late

I am champ 3 div4 and am trying to reach gc and im not very mechanical but i will say if im just a little bit faster it could be the difference. And less mistakes, i really gotta get that consistency
The only thing holding me back from getting platinum was my confidence in aerials and learning to half-flipping
I have to say in the 100s of games I’ve played in Champ i have only 10 games maybe that didn’t flip on kickoff. Most can actually speed flip.
I just did the grind to unlock ranked as a new player to the game. Most of my placement matches was 1v2 as the opponents scored a single quick goal and my teammate just leaves. I still won the majority of the games. I placed gold. I’m far from my peak and am getting better with every match and every hit. One beyond truthful thing is that there is no trust at this rank. Everyone chases like there is no tomorrow. Hitting the ball without any care of where that ball will go or who it will go to. So many times my teammates climbs the wall and sets up perfect shots for the opponent then flames without communicating their intentions. I’ll get flamed for passing the ball to my teammates or faking a play to set my teammate up for a good shot because I don’t have the angle and always communicating with my m8s through out.
I feel like with more air practice I would be at least plat. I need a buddy to do this with so I don’t have to resort to being more defensive because my randoms chase and just hit the ball to hit the ball.
Yeah i cant get that mechanical with my current controller, well my mechs are now 50/50 and still carrying all my tm8s at c2 in 2s and almost got back up to c1 in 1s which i got yesterday
It's so frustrating how during my climb back to GC this season how many champs could flip reset but not flip on kickoff. Glad this was pointed out 💀

@@KillerFox971 You're not the only one bro. It pisses me off so much whenever I see my teammate going straight forward at kickoffs, and it often times, lead to a bad situation for us because they don't know how to hit it either.
I think it's more due to new player base from the game being f2p, where they all want to be flashy and mecha like pros instead of knowing the basics and how usefull they are.

I have a question about the segment in champ gameplay about confidence.
How do i become more confident in my desicions on the pitch? I often have trouble reacting quick enough and i have issues with being confidant enough to do aireals, i often would rather wait for the ball to come down or for the opponent to hit it away.
I'm no coach but this might help:

But if you hesitate you won't learn whether you should have challed or fake challed, all you learn is that you shouldn't have hesitated. Make a decision, and go for it. Backing out is what will leave you in no mans land

Practicing hesitation is quite simple, but it's a long way. I'll copy paste something for you:

I drift A LOT, like average 80 seconds of each game I will be drifting. We have the same settings, so I won't be any different to you

Hey Thanovic, I'm a player that fluctuates between gold and plat but can speed flip. I'm not very good with aerials but am working on them. I feel like I get good power on the ground and I trust my teammates. Do you have any training packs you would suggest?

On one hand, my decision making is really poor. On the other hand, you can't have decision making at a level that is 6 ranks higher than you, because people will be doing things you haven't seen before so you can't make decisions as well as we can

i feel like the gold was better than the plat but might only be in gold because of something like ballchasing cuz i didn’t rank up from gold for 4 weeks because i used to ball chase
yeah u could see from the games the gold chased a ton (as to be expected at gold)
sweatmaster is my friend irl and droped his rank from d1 to gold.3 to be in the vid XD
being a platinum, ive actually realised i am different to the other people my rank. for some reason, I can control the car better, dribble and flick better and use airroll, boost and turn in the air confortably, but im still in plat 💀💀

Go from c2 to gc 2 i dont know what that means but i peaked gc 2 div 4 and the difference in teammate is massive. But my peak is as well. Highly inconsistant player i am
