I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up czcams.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.

This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection czcams.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seems to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.

The only thing I'd change is the MDF. It takes the same amount of time to cut 45 angles and it'll look that much better. To each their own but don't be afraid of 45's! It's incredibly easy and visually rewarding!

Not necessarily needed here, but those knots in most types of pine/fir/hem fir, boards will bleed through latex paint. Consider shellac sanding sealer, or using an oil based primer next time. Really nice hack. Looks great.

I used a walnut stain and skipped the MDF and backboard (cant see the back), but otherwise I followed exactly and it came out great. I adjusted measurements to account for the fact that I did an L shape, but I am so happy with the project. Thanks!!

Beginners and Hacks. when it is upside down, how do you keep the 2 by 6 boards together for a tight smooth top. Clamps...new idea.....Next Ikea is composition material get those screws into the middle and still it might miss and go through the edge.. Don't overstress this box this has cheap corners and will give and bend, no more bench, even with the boards in the back, you might get a few more screws in there not just two on each end. Maybe one day he will show you how to do that. Or accidental learning is so much fun and stress. Did you choose the best side of the boards for the top or it just happens ?.....Hals Wood Shop.....This series should b e called Pretty in Pine.
