I feel like Secret Wars is rushed at this point because the story for phases 4 and 5 were all over the place. They need to start building up to it more and not make plots that lead nowhere.

I still think 2026 is way too early to release Avengers 5, we still don't know who the definitive antagonist is going to be for the rest of the saga. I've heard rumors that Marvel is going to "pivot" away from Kang for the foreseeable future, but because of the Loki series, they could basically omit the character entirely. Personally, I think they should still make Doctor Doom the definitive antagonist, but it would've been much easier for them to do this if Doctor Doom was in the post-credit scene of Wakanda Forever.
Their planning throughout the Infinity Saga was both ambitious and successful - all of Phase 3 was announced years in advance, yet they managed to stick to virtually every release date - but then they flew too close to the Sun with it. They overfilled several years' worth of scheduling without leaving any margin for error in case of unforeseeables (e.g. a core cast member deciding to smack his GF around in public) or waiting to gauge audience interest in the new franchise model

DC is never getting on the levels of Marvel no matter how much I actually like them. They had a chance with the Snyder trilogy, but they messed up too many times and not even the infinitely better re-release of Justice League could save it. Even with the new universe, I don't think they'll ever reach that height when it comes to Hollywood.
So basically this happened. Marvels post infinity saga plans were to split marvel into two tonal sectors, street and space. Replacing Thor, Hulk, Cap, and Iron Man was going to be Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Captain Marvel as a Trifecta. So long story short, Disney dropped the ball with retaining the rights to utilize spider-man, Chadwick Boseman Passed away, and Captain Marvel while performed well enough in the box office, the sequel sufferws great losses for disney. So their plans werw completely foild and to make matters worse, the qulity of their programing on disney+ began to stagger. The dude who played Kang had his controversy. All leading into Marvel Studios announcing the Avengers 5 and 6. This was suppose to be their "break the glass" plan from the beginning, they just werent expecting having to break it so early.
I think it's time we accept the fact that the MCU was destined to fail. It's a miracle that it ever got this far. The budget for these movies is just way too high, so investors want Marvel to rush to bigger projects for more profit. I think marvel would be much better off doing cartoons, this would allow them to increase the scale of stories without the massive budget.
I half agree with this i think after endgame they shouldve slowed down big time and focused more on smaller project rather than rushing to get to the next avengers film but of course disney wanted the moneytrain to keep rolling so they kept pushing out big budget films and tv shows but i agree they should focus on more animated shows that arent connected to the mcu or if tehy are have them in an alternate universe kinda like what if. I have full faith in the MCU now that Chapek is gone and Iger is back, along with Deadpool & Wolverine being such a good pilot to this Iger return MCU era. I hope dearly it doesn't disappoint.
Disney pushed them to release everything so soon. I get that Covid caused a lot of set back as well. But we got 9 projects in 2021 and 9 in 2022. But we're getting back on track. We got 5 projects in 2023 and we're getting less than that in 2024. It's nice to have a little breather after each project. I am also so happy they are delaying the next Avengers movies. They can take as much time as they need to make them good.

They thought that as long as the project had "Marvel" in it, people would watch, but after The Marvels was a complete flop, they realized people were getting sick of the high quantity and low quality of marvel content and decided to tone things down. This next part of the MCU is still a mess, but they luckily have slowed things down, unlike a few years ago after covid where they just started releasing random shows and movies left and right with no correlation or substance. Marvel released more in phase 4 than all 3 of the early phases together.

I still think they’re delusional. They’re dropping Kang Dynasty (if that’s still the title) in 2026 and Secret Wars in 2027, when the MCU is in its worse state since it started and with very little genuine build-up to this behemoth storyline. They should release an Avengers movie in 2026. It shouldn’t be Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars. Just give the audience a slightly lower stakes Avengers film, so that we actually have an idea of who’s on this team and where all of our characters are at this point- because right now, everything feels extremely disjointed. It should’ve been a Secret Invasion film, but they’ve obviously fumbled that.
The failure of the MCU was intentional. They have the entirety of Marvel comics history to pull and adapt from. It's a literal road map of what was successful and what wasn't. They chose to ignore the successes of the comics' stories and commit to their self destruction. Same with Star Wars. Decades of lore from books, comics, video games, cartoons (etc.) that were a road map of what was successful and what wasn't and they committed to the self destruction of the franchise. That Jedi who drank poison and just died in the Acolyte is the perfect metaphor for their handling of the IPs they own.

Well if you haven't realized that Infinity war was really set the same year as Ant-Man 2 and Spider-Man homecoming release a year before that alongside Thor Ragnarok so I guess that would make sense because they produce a couple of Marvel movies at the same year because they wanted to get it over with and the size people are loving the superhero movies and honestly if this ever comes out next year I really want to watch those on Disney plus when it hits so I'm going to probably guess that we're in Phase 6 now

DC is never getting on the levels of Marvel no matter how much I actually like them. They had a chance with the Snyder trilogy, but they messed up too many times and not even the infinitely better re-release of Justice League could save it. Even with the new universe, I don't think they'll ever reach that height when it comes to Hollywood.
Feige was getting REALLY greedy, thankfully he took a step back and decided to just go the route of the Infinity Saga.

So basically this happened. Marvels post infinity saga plans were to split marvel into two tonal sectors, street and space. Replacing Thor, Hulk, Cap, and Iron Man was going to be Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Captain Marvel as a Trifecta. So long story short, Disney dropped the ball with retaining the rights to utilize spider-man, Chadwick Boseman Passed away, and Captain Marvel while performed well enough in the box office, the sequel sufferws great losses for disney. So their plans werw completely foild and to make matters worse, the qulity of their programing on disney+ began to stagger. The dude who played Kang had his controversy. All leading into Marvel Studios announcing the Avengers 5 and 6. This was suppose to be their "break the glass" plan from the beginning, they just werent expecting having to break it so early.
I wanted that so bad, but it was realistic to put two Avengers movies. A year apart.
I think it's time we accept the fact that the MCU was destined to fail. It's a miracle that it ever got this far. The budget for these movies is just way too high, so investors want Marvel to rush to bigger projects for more profit. I think marvel would be much better off doing cartoons, this would allow them to increase the scale of stories without the massive budget.
I half agree with this i think after endgame they shouldve slowed down big time and focused more on smaller project rather than rushing to get to the next avengers film but of course disney wanted the moneytrain to keep rolling so they kept pushing out big budget films and tv shows but i agree they should focus on more animated shows that arent connected to the mcu or if tehy are have them in an alternate universe kinda like what if. I think it would've kept fans engaged but they wouldn't have had to spend millions also it would've been a nice contrast to have smaller more focused stories rather than big blockbusters all the time.

I have full faith in the MCU now that Chapek is gone and Iger is back, along with Deadpool & Wolverine being such a good pilot to this Iger return MCU era. I hope dearly it doesn't disappoint.

But we got 9 projects in 2021 and 9 in 2022.
But we're getting back on track. We got 5 projects in 2023 and we're getting less than that in 2024. It's nice to have a little breather after each project.
I am also so happy they are delaying the next Avengers movies. They can take as much time as they need to make them good.

Why do people believe that there was actually a chance that this was ever gonna happen. Feige was pressured by execs to show how the saga ends and they just stamped a date on it just so it’s something tangible that fans can expect. They were both never gonna come out then regardless.

They thought that as long as the project had "Marvel" in it, people would watch, but after The Marvels was a complete flop, they realized people were getting sick of the high quantity and low quality of marvel content and decided to tone things down. This next part of the MCU is still a mess, but they luckily have slowed things down, unlike a few years ago after covid where they just started releasing random shows and movies left and right with no correlation or substance. Marvel released more in phase 4 than all 3 of the early phases together.

I still think they’re delusional. They’re dropping Kang Dynasty (if that’s still the title) in 2026 and Secret Wars in 2027, when the MCU is in its worse state since it started and with very little genuine build-up to this behemoth storyline.
They should release an Avengers movie in 2026. It shouldn’t be Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars. Just give the audience a slightly lower stakes Avengers film, so that we actually have an idea of who’s on this team and where all of our characters are at this point- because right now, everything feels extremely disjointed. It should’ve been a Secret Invasion film, but they’ve obviously fumbled that.

The failure of the MCU was intentional. They have the entirety of Marvel comics history to pull and adapt from. It's a literal road map of what was successful and what wasn't.
They chose to ignore the successes of the comics' stories and commit to their self destruction.
Same with Star Wars. Decades of lore from books, comics, video games, cartoons (etc.) that were a road map of what was successful and what wasn't and they committed to the self destruction of the franchise.
