  • This features the infinity pattern from Monroe Style Improvising.
This works over the very common chord progression of Your Love is Like a Flower, I'm On My Way Back to the Old Home, Road to Columbus, Bury Me Beneath the Willow, True Life Blues, and many more. It is taught primarily in the key of G but can be fairly easily transposed up two frets to A (or Bb or B) by advanced level pickers.

Awesome Chris. I actually just discovered you the other day on the Big Sandy video. Thanks for sharing the free lessons you do. Never heard of this technique, but bet your bottom dollar I'm about to memorize and apply it. Cheers!

thanks for the kindness Shane! this is a device I built off of some standard Bill technique. I never heard him play it like this, but it's very similar to his staggered sixteenth note arpeggio note texture, just starting on a different interval, the major third. helps get around up the neck for sure! Cheers back!

Some good stuff there buddy. Going to take some time to be able to digest it. Thanks much Chris.

I get this shape. I've been playing something very similar, but with less shifting and more use of the pinky, and starting on the root. Is there a particular reason that you are starting on the third and doing all that shifting? I get kind of lost when I shift.
    Thanks for all your videos.

It’s a sound I like a lot, and to me it’s not really much of a shift, there are also more advanced modulations like the folded infinity bounce that are pretty cool too! Thanks for the kindness!
