I'm a custom Artist, I could easily do a color/pattern like that on any mold you provided, preferably pre-prepped, or even better, on an unpainted resin. I'll even offer a discount for a first time customer just because I know how heart breaking it is.
Now, I am slow, Do to medical conditions, however, I guarantee that I don't stop until my clients are 100% happy with the outcome of the product! Ill send close up progress shots once I do get to start on a piece. An I love doing details to make a model as realistic as possible. On a custom like that black appy, I would have mapped and haloed all those spots, I would have also maybe hand sunbleached just the tips of the hair in the main/tail/forlock, to make it stand out a hint and not blend in with the body. And the gloopy? Never! No gloopy, no brush strokes, My paint jobs are as smooth as anything. I prefer a Matte Finish, an then I hand gloss the eyes and nostrils for that 'wet' look, and then gloss the hooves for a show sheen.

I don't do traditionals very often any more because of how time consuming they are and my health is getting worse. But I hate to see someone disappointed in a custom... And would like to show that there are artist out here who give pride in our work.

Nice! You must be very good at finding good deals because you have some incredibly nice and rare models in your collection yet Leandro is the most you have spent on a model. As for other model horse tags in the future, I recommend DB Productions's Breyer Community tag.
I'm honestly a huge deal hunter xD I rarely buy anything unless I can get a good deal on it. And thank you for the great tag suggestion! :D

my most expensive horse to date is the Breyer horse spun gold surprise chestnut pinto. he was sooo much but he is one of my holy grails so lol
My wife has a Frankensteed. He and Hear Me Roar (Stablemate lion) were her most expensive, as well as her black Aldens pacer.

1- I have several I got for $5 or less, plus free to me ones that I've had since I was little. Including a couple I stole from my step sister as a kid. Oops. My most expensive set was the Far Ute Keno Family set. I paid $175 for them, NIB with the certificate of authenticity. But I've also paid $100 for just Prince Plaudit. lol
2 - I have a foal (Tuscon on the QH foal mold) that I bought on impulse because, at the time, he was the only one I didn't have on that mold and I needed him to complete the conga. I didn't pay an extraordinary amount for him. Maybe $15? But he's kind of hard to find because he's a one of the Wild Mustangs, so I bought him without looking at the pictures. He's pretty scuffed up, and kinda metallicy, so I was very unhappy. He looks good with every one else though. Just don't get too close!
3 - My favorite molds are Black Beauty, American Quarter Horse foal, Sagr, and Johar. Favorite models are Magic (BB), Azure (AQHF), Barrel Racing (Sagr), and Drinkers of the Wind mare (Johar). ^_^
4 - They get so dusty. And the domino affect is terrifying. I have a foal with a broken tail that had to be glued back in place thanks to that. :'(
5 - I'm most proud of the four original horses I still have from my childhood. They are the reason I got into the hobby in the first place. I have lots of Grand Champions from when I was really little, and had several Breyer's as a young teen. Although all of them made it to my adulthood, I decided I was only going to collect certain molds, and gave away the ones I didn't want anymore. My little cousins LOVE me lol.
6 - I only collect classics, and then I only go for releases with multiple models (so no OOAK auction models), and they must be non-glossy and in a natural / realistic color scheme (no decorators or metallic finishes). I also only collect 35 of the 74 molds in the classic series. Plus deals!
7 - My Grail is the Clydesdales with Wagon set. I've got my eyes on one for $500, but no money to spend on it yet. A mini-grail is the Bonanza four-piece set.

If I am just getting into breyers what type of traditional models would you recommend? I am not looking for a big collection, I have school to pay for and a small room, I just want a small nice model horse collection (and to hopefully attend breyerfest this year)
IMO it's best to buy the models that appeal to you personally. Spend time studying the Identify Your Breyer website, and scrolling through the Breyer section at eBay, to get a sense of what's out there and typical pricing. Another site is Model Horse Sales Pages.

Constellixx Same here! It’s hard personally due to the fact that you might be able to only get 5 models in year, if you like and a teenager who gets pocket money it takes a lot of patience and time. I must admit that it can be annoying and it gets me a bit jealous seeing my friend with her 20 schliech collection while I only have 5 XD personally I would recommend traditional even thought they are more expensive, for me I’m more unlucky due to the fact I don’t live in America and need international shipping which is the same price for a few horses XD Which means to super expensive for $50 shipping for one horse. I recommend sights as eBay and just searching them up. This is just my experience but I must say Breyer horses definitely (the traditionals from what I know) have beautiful detail and a large size compared the schliech and it makes it seem more rewarding especially when you can say That you got a model of a horse that has won over $200,000 in irl I forget xD the extract amount anyways good luck!

I usually sell models from my collection on Ebay ( www.ebay.com/usr/stormyproductions ) although I am also planning on selling some at BreyerFest. I don't know exactly how much I'll put on the appaloosa big ben if I sell him, but probably around $50 USD since that's what I had paid for him originally.

I've never sculptured a model's leg before, so i can't say from my own experience. But if it's a model that's missing a leg, Breyer does have a tutorial on how to fix one: www.breyerhorses.com/blogs/customizing/creating-a-new-leg

No sorry I don't. I didn't even realize her price has gone up so much now. I suggest just keeping an eye out on places like eBay, Model Horse Sales Pages, and social media for one to come up for sale for a price you're willing to pay.

Frankensteed is my Holy Grail, I want him so bad. There was a one time I could have gotten him, but did not have enough money 😭
I did get a Frankensteed. Took a while, but got one at a great price a few years ago. Now that the Foxtrotter mold has been shrunken to stablemate size, he now has a mini me that I painted. I used my big one as a reference for the paint/pastels on the mini one. Just keep looking, and maybe you'll get lucky. (Jan Griffiths).

Gloopy gloppy isn’t made up because I’ve heard of both before.
You may have wanted to research what the 7 deadly sins mean before doing this. Sloth has nothing to do with hatred and Lust wouldn’t be what you look for in a model. Lust would be more appropriate for what your grail is while your Envy would be a friend’s model you want or another collector’s.
I didn't come up with the original model horse 7 deadly sins challenge so I was just doing it based off what the original person who created it had put for them all :) Those are good ideas though!

Why don't you just remove the paint from that Appy Big Ben and repaint him? So what if he is a custom---no Appy characteristics I can see--no white sclera, no mottled skin, no striped hooves, etc. You could do a much better job yourself.
