Remember watching this game 1997 Immanuel College (Adelaide )boarding house boys common room. Everyone thought the game was over at half time and left, only 2 or 3 of us stayed to watch the full game. A tough game by a super crows team...Darren Jarman one of the all time greats

Absolute classic match. Both sides giving their all. Darren Jarman class possibly the difference. The Bulldogs lacking composure at the death. Felt for them at the time as it was a heartbreaker.

I was at the game sitting behind the goals Ponsford stand end. As a Footscray supporter its the game we still talk about. I have never been to a game that had so much raw emotion as this game. There were people crying on trams as I left. It was like leaving a funeral. Unfortunately today the game is so sanitised and commercialised, it has lost the emotion of the 90's and even if the Bulldogs win the premiership this year, It wont be anywhere near as special if they had (should of) won it in 97".

      Woodo Couldn't agree more mate!
      I'm a Carlton supporter who was at the 93, 95, & 99 Grand Finals.
Walking out the ground in 1993, walking to Jolimont, as soon as I heard the siren, I started crying. There were people crying on the train, in the city even. These days there is no emotion in the game, which is a shame.

Not a supporter of either club but there were four moments that went against the Bulldogs. Two were bad misses from Libba and Mark West and the other two were shepherds that should have been applied to help Chris Grant kick a goal and for Scott West to not get caught holding the ball. The Bulldogs were panicking and not thinking clearly. Great effort by the Crows especially Jarman, Goodwin and Smart.

Just tragic in every way. Modra doing his knee. Missing out on the possibility of a Dogs v Saints Grand Final. The fact that the Dogs had control of the game (like North did in 98). Libbas point which was a goal. The Crows hadn't paid their dues like the Saints and the Dogs had. Such a devastating loss.

@@shannonpincombe8485 At least he had a premiership with them in 1991. The Hawks eventually bounced back and got 4 flags in 08 and the 3 peat (13,14,15). Meanwhile since 1997 1998 Adelaide has failed to take it's chances when it has mattered.

Soccer is the greatest and by far the most important sport on Earth and is massive in over 240 countries. Soccer is the universal language that every nation on this planet loves. Afl is massive in 4 out of 6 Australian states. Still and always will be a minority sport in Qld and NSW. Soccer will be the number 1 sport in Australia by 2050 and every suburb will love soccer and every suburb will have its own soccer club dhffd
