After a break from the spotlight, she’s now back in the studio and laying the groundwork for a new chapter in her career. She sits down with Q’s Tom Power to talk about returning to the 53rd annual JUNO Awards as a host, and how she’s grown over 25 years in music.

International Portuguese artists like Nelly Furtado are known for creating unique fusion of sounds with Portuguese influence.
Lucenzo who created the Fast 5 hit, Danza Kuduro/Vem Dancar Kuduro, famously Kuduro from Angola, Pimba and traditional folklore music from Portugal, Reggaeton from Puerto Rico and western pop. This all created a unique sound yet to be replicated and still charts in the global top 100 just like Nelly does with her old songs.
Its just a shame that the music industry aren't promoting Portuguese artists like Nelly Furtado and Lucenzo even though there songs go viral on Tiktok with no money invested in promotion.
I really want to know what happened with her album Lifestyle and why she didn't release it. Top stars producers like Timbaland, Danja, Rick Nowels, Saalam Remi, John Shanks, The Demolition Crew, Lester Mendez...were involved with this project. I guess it would be another hit album like Loose was. But instead she released Mi Plan and her greatest hits...
I always thought that she just changed the title of the album to the spirit indestructible. So Lifestyle = TSI.

Madonna is Madonna - her success and cultural influence during the 80s, 90s and 00's is un-matched absolutely- but Mariah Carey is one of the most successful pop artists in recent decades. She STILL tops the pop charts every single December because of her inescapable bloody Christmas song. How are they not comparable as massively famous women in music who arent given due credit as songwriters because of sexism?
