First off, I love it when I find LONG writing videos to listen to. Second, EVERY second of this was helpful, practical, and engaging. So much advice on CZcams is just so…surface level or just completely not helpful. This was perfect. I am subscribing now!!

I was so worried no one would watch it if it was this long, so this is so relieving to hear! I’m so glad you found it useful 🥹

Thank you so much for this! I recently just wrote my first novel and I did not outline. I ended up writing 3 drafts because the story changed so much every time I wrote it. Not ideal at all! I’m excited to use this outlining process for the sequel.

Thank you so much! This is getting me excited about trying to plot my book. I had plotted it out using only the three-act structure and it just wasn't resonating with me. So, I took a break from plotting just to write and the pantsing got me some ideas for a central plot, but now I feel it is time to take what I learned from pantsing in the world and apply it in plotting.
I do have a question because character arcs and story arcs are different, how do you cover that in multiple POVs in different locations? Their POVs will intersect at the end, but would it be like two sides to the same coin? Like the coin is the thing being uncovered (e.g. a conspiracy of an intergalactic controversy), but the two sides are two perspectives of what is going on, even though they are seeing different parts of it?

Omg so excited for this!! Yes, your two POVs should both be working to uncover the same central story and should be playing off each other. If they truly never meet throughout, you may want to make notes about each POV for each beat. But try to make sure you don’t have 2 fully complete narratives, but rather that they’re working together to tell the story. If they could stand on their own, that’s not what you want.

@@searchingforsamantha I am still working through the different outlining styles because I don't want to overwhelm myself, but already have some new ideas on how the story will be more clear!! THANK YOU. BEST HOUR I SPENT IN A LONG TIME TO WATCH THIS.
