    Just got the bag myself! - The magnet on the top handle works much better if you connect the sides with the 'Wander more, Worry less' on it!

    I bought this bag (31L) when it was announced on Kick Starter because I liked the looks and also fell for the influencer photographers at that time. In my opinion and experience, this is the most impractical camera bag I have owned. This reviewer lists pretty much all the negatives and I agree with him. My inconveniences where the waste of spaces inside the cube, the side access design, the front zipper pocket (is only good to carry flat item) and many more. So I took the camera cube out and use it as a carry-in travel bag and it is absolutely wonderful. I have done multiple 2 week overseas trips using this bag. So a great travel bag, YES. A great EDC camera bag, No.

      @dadstoysnthings  Před 12 dny +1

      I ended up cutting the cover off the camera cube and replaced all the inner dividers with thinner ones. Also, I used velcro, so the cube is flushed in the bag. Even at that, the side access is still an issue for me. It's a very impractical design.

    I use the similar looking but functionally different Tenba DNA 16 backpack. I prefer the camera "drawer" system on that bag.

      @dadstoysnthings  Před 2 dny +1

      I have used the Tenba as well, and I can say I would choose it over the Prvke. I ended up returning the Tenba eventually as I still found it limiting, I ended up with the OneMo Lite.

    Thank you for your honest assessment of this bag. I loved the Prvke Light which I've been happily using for years, but needed more space for my growing number of lenses. I thought the Prvke 21 would be perfect. Boy, was I wrong! I could hardly get my mirrorless Sony and three lenses to fit into the camera cube. I gave up and returned it. I knew the Prvke 31L would get too heavy so I bought an 18L Thinktank which suits me much better.

    • @dadstoysnthings
      @dadstoysnthings  Před 3 měsíci

      And thank you, for sharing your experience. For myself, I did end up selling the Prvke 21. I also have the 31L, which I kept, but I ended up using another bag when I traveled internationally. The PRVKE series has its strengths, but it's very limiting. I expected more for the price I paid for these bags.

    I have the previous prke 31 and the shimoda 30 litre and they both have this shallow depth. I wish I bought the shimoda 35 litre as its about the same but deeper and the prke 41 is also deeper so you can fit your camera sideways up and fit more lens standing up.
    The 41 might be too big though and only black.
    But I have found the prke to be a lot wider than the Shimoda which let me fit a 100-400 width ways with body or a 150-600 on one side and camera with lens on the other side by the pocket. It also has that handy rolltop.
    And I wish they made light interiors because I can't see anything looking down a black hole. The new sling bags have colour code interiors like the outside.
    But they are still lovely bags 😁

      @dadstoysnthings  Před 5 měsíci

      Great observation, and thank you for telling me about Shimoda, I'm thinking of getting their latest urban explorer. Guess I better do more research. As for the 41L, yes, I found it too big. I also did not end up using the 31L for my international trip, as I found a better bag. I found a solution to the dismal cube size but still not enough to consider using it as a personal item/camera bag.

  • @dadstoysnthings
    @dadstoysnthings  Před 6 měsíci

    As I start using this bag, I'm finding more annoyances that, I'm now in a hunt for a better alternative.
    1. My setup includes a Canon M50 with an RF-S 18-150, RF-S 10-18, an RF 16mm and an RF 35MM, all light lenses. I have a 13 inch laptop, an EL-5 flash, batteries, some cables, a small wireless mic and a DJI action 4. The bag now weighs 25 lbs!
    In my review I mentioned I didn't like the long top handle. And this proved more of a nuisance as it makes it difficult to carry the bag from the top.
    2. The lack of side handle also limits the bag handling.
    3. The cube, while bigger on the 31L is also such a pain to use that I made modification, one of which is totally cutting off the front cover. I have no intention of ever carrying the cube separately. I also cut the top handle. The cube is also very unwieldy that I have to find a way to secure it with the bag without sewing it in.
    I'll post those mods on a separate video.

      Thanks for the comment. I actually cut the cube to make it work, which it did. However, I found a better bag and ended up taking that one in my latest international trip instead. Will post the review soon.

      @slickvibez16 I ended up using the PgyTech Onemo lite. Although Ulanzi just came up with PB-09 and PB-10, you may also want to look at those.

      Thanks for watching!
      The longest lens I have left is the Canon 70-200 F4 IS, and yes, it fits.
      However, it takes so much space that I won't be able to fit my flash. This cube really was designed for mirrorless with lenses like the EF-M or RF-S lenses.

    Really good review, I have the original version & it seems they still haven't learnt lessons with the awful camera cube & useless dividers, plus its still really heavy compared to other bags the same size. I'm going to NYC soon and tempted to order the Peter McKinnon 25l to see whether that might work better?

    • @dadstoysnthings
      @dadstoysnthings  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I've looked at that as well. In the end, I decided with the OneMo Lite, and I was pleasantly surprised how it worked for my needs without the high cost. I also have the Ulanzi BP10 in my sight as it wasn't available when I went through my international trip.

    I totally agree that the camera cube is an epic fail. They are wasting soooo much space on the dividers, they don't need to be this thick, its completely ridiculous...

    • @dadstoysnthings
      @dadstoysnthings  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes, what I did is use divider from my other bags. But because the cube is so shallow, it's difficult to find matching dividers.

    Be careful if you buy the backpack in Australia as spare parts are not stocked. I lost chest band as shown in the video, and WNDRD was $5 used to replace and $100 USD to post! Outrageous, find a better supplier because the chest strap is easily lost!

    As a personal item bag, the 21L fits under the seat area.

    • @dadstoysnthings
      @dadstoysnthings  Před 7 měsíci

      I do like the size of the 21L. However, the camera cube made it very difficult for me to consider it on my travel. I think Wandrd did a poor job in its design, wasting a lot of space in the process.

    • @Todder-R5
      @Todder-R5 Před 7 dny

      I have the 21L just took it on a trip to UK and scotland for 10 days. It had mis cable bag ,ssd hard drive my r6, 24-105, my rf70-200 . Had a back up battery pack, 4 canon battery’s , charger, . It was big enough but wish I had got the 31
      L

    • @dadstoysnthings
      @dadstoysnthings  Před 7 dny +1

      @Todder-R5 The 31L did not fare better in terms of the cube storage. The only way I was able to make it work is by cutting off the cover and then using my own dividers. Still, I found the side access annoying simply due to the design.
      If Wandrd is ever listening, get rid of the cube on the 21L and use the same structure as the Lite. Remove the tote handle, another annoying and useless feature of the bag, and shorten the top compartment. Also, having no side handle makes it a chore to use it for plane travel. Among other things. I ended up selling my 21L.

      Thanks for the comment! Yes, the Shimoda Explore is definitely bigger. I almost bought the newer Shimoda Urban V2, only that I found it can not stand on its own. I ended up with the OneMo Lite, cheaper and more functional.

    How can YOU say something is not the best, but then poopoo on other CZcamsrs who say it is the best? Isn't that pretty much their own opinion, just like it's your opinion that it's not the best?

    • @dadstoysnthings
      @dadstoysnthings  Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you for your comment! And yes, all you see and hear are based on our own experience having acquired the product. I bought this brand, having watched all the "good" things that I saw, and it wasn't as clear-cut as they pictured this bag to be. I tried to make it work by altering the cube, but at the end of the day, the nuisances still outweighed its usability and functionality at least for my intended purpose of using it for my international travel.
      I'll be glad to hear your own experience with the bag, how did you find it?
