Historical rights to a piece of land is a difficult position to hold. No matter where in the world you stand, someone was there before you, and someone else before that. A 1908 map of Palestine indicates four primary regions, Gaza, Judaea, Samaria, and Galilee, with a majority Arab population and a minority of Jews. However, Zionism alone did not displace Palestinian Arabs. Wars with Egypt, Jordan, and Syria resulted in Israeli expansion, and even Palestinian Christians lost their homes and churches. Tragically, The British Mandate of 1949 promised the creation of a Palestinian State, but it never came to fruition.
Today we have Hamas to Israel's south and Hezbollah to Israel's north, and only a speckled landscape of Palestinian Communities.
I perceive in my heart that it will require a Paradigm Shift in Human Consciousness for there to be lasting peace in this Middle Eastern arena.

it's well known that the term Palestine, derived from the Philistines, was assigned to the land by the Roman's around 135 CE (its said out of spite due to uprising) and then the locals re-used the name Filastin as the Arab name around 629 ce. so I'm wondering, during your lecture you mentioned indigenous Palestinians far before any record of the name Palestine or Filastine, so what/ who are the indigenous people actually called prior to the Roman naming.
if I'm not mistaken, the Quran calls the land Israel, but I can't confirm.

Salam, we know the Israelites ended up in Egypt but where did Jacob and his sons originate?
The originated in Israel and there was never a country called Palestine. The name Palestina was a Roman name given by Hadrian. The modern Palestinians have very little connection to Israel before 634 AD. There are some Palestinians especially in Lebenon with Cananite DNA( like 93% Cananite DNA but Cananite DNA alone does not mean you indiginous to Israel. Different Cananites tribes and groups who were not were not connected by anything but DNA lived all over the Levant and Mediteranian. The Phonecians that settled Carthige were Cananites and they had not ownership or claim Israel. Nor are modern Palestinians connected in anyway connected to the Phillisitines who lived in whats now Gaza. If they were than they also would have no claim to Israel because the Phillistines were Myconean Greek Raiders. The name Phillisitine comes from the Hebrew Plishta which means invader or tresspasser. Its what they were not who they were and not what the Phillistines called themselves. The early Arabs who immigated to the area of the Palestinian Mandate.( which is most of them and we can prove this with numbers and science) new what the word Phillisine/Palatinian actually implied and they asked the British to not call them Palestinans. It was Jews of the Mandate who were called Palestinians from 1921-1948. They had to carry Palestinian passports.
In 1800 there were only 250,000 people living in "Palestine" and another 200,000 in Jordan. Jews always lived there just as some Arabs had always lived there( though Muslim Arabs didnt arrive until there conquest in 634AD) the ancient Proto Arabs Edomites, Amorites, Moabites and Naboteans all lived in whats now Jordan on the East Bank of the Dead Sea. Jews however began returning to the area now known as Israel beginning in 1820 but were inhibited by the Ottoman Empire who sought both to appease the larger and more violent Arab population and it was also depopulated for another reason. I suppose empty and depopulated is relative and a matter of perspective. Israel is almost the same size and population as New Jersey. Thats a little over 8,000 square miles and 9.3 million people. How empty would New Jersey be if it only had 700,000 people or 250,000. Thats its two biggest cities together what about the rest? Now, Jews began to return in greater number starting in 1820. By 1947 there were 1.1 million Arabs in Palestine just 33 years earlier there were only 500,000. Prior to 1800 there were only 250,000 and in 1,500 there were only 150,000. there was little to no population growth in all that time and all the sudden Jews start returning and not only does the Jewish population grow but the Arab population grows even faster. So we know where the Jews came there from but how about the Arabs? Where did they all of the sudden come from. Did they just sprout out of the ground? Did they suddenly have a baby boom they never managed to have in the previous milenia? Or did they simply immigrate there just as Jews had? In either case one thing is true whatvever had kept the population small previously obviously changed when Jews arrived and we Jews who's families were there at the time and who have genuine education on the subject and not a head full of PLO and Soviet generated propaganda actually know what that was. You see the reason Israel in its interior was so sparcely populated was because a great deal of it from neglect had developed large swamp areas full of mosquitos with a virulent strain of Malaria that they didnt have the ability to cure or treat and the good land often went to Ottoman officials as a retirement gift. Much of the shit land was owned by Absentee land lords that were not even in the Levant Region at all.( I'll prove that in a second) It was this land that the incoming Jews began purchasing or rather the Zionist movements Jewish National Fund purcased it. What they didnt know was that land had squatter living on it local Fellaheen or peasents living on some of those purchased lands. They didnt own it but they did live there. The biggest example is called the Sursock Purchase. JNF purchased this land which represented about 20% of all the land purchased by them and was the largest single purchase. Sursock was a Greek Banker. He came into possession of the land due to a loan to the Ottoman government. He then sold it to JNF. It contained the entire Jazreel Valley that proved strategically important during the 1948 war. The Jews did indeed remove the Fellaheen from about 20 Villages but they were justly compensated though the the Jews were never legally required to do so. The bigger displacement of Palestinians was not a physical displacement or land theft but an economic displacement. Jews from Europe with suoerior technology, education and skills displaced them. Jews had the ability to clear the land and make it livable and make it produce and when that standard of living went up it brought more Jews and more Arabs. Thats why the population grew.

To answer your question, the balance, 5%. To me, I don't mind if I have a Christian or Jews as a neighbour. At least I can get to know them and celebrate our differences.
But, if one of the neighbour started to tear down the walls and claiming MY home as his, that is where I draw the line. Simple as that. I assume that you wouldn't want anybody to take your car that you bought from your hard earn money for no reason, yes? Isn't that action is classified as stealing? Have you ever been mugged? If you have, remember that feeling of you being mugged?
