Koenigsegg One:1 - Hot Laps at Spa with Adrian Sutil [4K]

- A truly epic experience, onboard the Koenigsegg One:1 megacar at Spa-Francorchamps with former F1-driver, Adrian Sutil at the wheel.
The One:1 is a limited model, with just a total of 7 cars built including this car - the factory pre-production unit, that reaches the dizzying heights of 1Mw of power, 1360hp and with a weight of just 1360kg - the magic 1 to 1 ratio.
With thanks to PACE, the German Koenigsegg dealer, I attended Modena Trackdays with them at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium to attend this opportunity, and it is not one I'll quickly forget!
Adrian Sutil drove for Sauber in the 2014 Formula 1 World Championship and is currently reserve driver for Williams during 2015 and has himself recently acquired a Koenigsegg CCX Edition hence visited the event to drive for himself. While present it was too good an opportunity to pass up, hence I jump on board armed with my cameras to be shown a car of mega proportions and experience how much beyond anything else it is.
As we complete a number of laps, the rate with which normal supercars like the Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche 911 GT3 RS are dispatched is mind-boggling. The experience for me with a driver of such calibre at the wheel also revealed a new smoothness to moving at speed that is not usually felt.
This video is the first that I have posted on the Shmee150 channel, shot entirely in 4K quality using a Sony AX33 Handycam and Sony X1000V Actioncam.

sliwka621 yeah other then the very last turn on the track where he kind of drifted a bit, I didn't hear/see him break traction or have to correct his steering once, which means he wasn't pushing it. Also, because he has a passenger.

It's most probably in the same league as a GT3 racecar! The way it was toying with the supertrofeo was jaw dropping. I'm sure this car will beat some lap records, if not all. What a video, thanks tim!
thEnurburg980 actually GT3 racecars are quick in corners, but they have only about 450 horsepower so no chance on straights.

***** I'm not sure it has as big advantage in corners against One:1 I mean One:1 has some downforce too and isn't heavy at all, so overall I think it can make up more time thanks to its power. Also do not forget that racecar has a big advantage in slick tires.

Quick shifts does not mean faster. This car will simply smoke more or less anything stock.

Except an Aston Martin Vulcan apparently, which has done a time around Spa nearly 12 seconds faster than the Koeniggsegg one:1. Of course you could always make the argument that the Vulcan is a dedicated track car and that the Koeniggsegg was not driven to its full potential. But then you could also claim that a) Mr Appleby is not a F1 driver, b) there is at least one road legal Vulcan, even if the car in question wasn't, and c) the Koeniggsegg has around 530bhp more than the Aston Martin. Still, an impressive wee car.

If those guys are not racing drivers they're easy meat for Sutil. Even in the same car they wouldn't get within 20 seconds a lap.

CarloDelucis Thanks Carlo, I wish it was possible to do every video from now in 4K but it's hard work with the file sizes, editing and upload times.
I can imagine... Plus combining the footage of the 4K camera with the actioncams must be a pain in the a**... But I do think it is worth the extra work in terms of image quality! Keep up the outstanding work Tim!

To the other cars defense the drivers probably weren't former f1 drivers, and weren't pushing as hard.The Koenisegg is obviously faster regardless but I think circumstances blew things out of proportion a little bit
The Egg driver even said he couldn't go full throttle because of the traffic. Imagine them racing in open empty rosd.

Really enjoyed the video, the hand held camera actually works for this ably demonstrating the way the passenger gets thrown about; loved it. Also, loved how Koenigsegg managed to make a V8 turbo sound like a Ducati, which is not a bad thing by the way.

Well one thing everyone's are missing is the fact that most of the other cars are sunday drivers while Sutil is as professional as it can be. Point being that he would be easily passing the others even with something like 911 turbo S since he carries way more speed through corners and brakes way later. And the F40 is a really old car and it's got outright shitty handling compared to modern performance cars.
Aur0n Ya that's basically the reasons. The F40 everyone loves, but it only has 450ish HP while the One:1 has almost 3X that. Even if I was driving it the F40 wouldn't stand a chance.

+raggandb You know the factory driver (although very skilled) is not a professional race driver. And it was done on a practice run, it couldn't participate in the actual lap attempt run - if I remember correctly it was due to sound restriction or something.

The kickback on the first and second shifts is insane! I'm sure Adrian could have been a bit more aggressive through Eau Rouge when he was alone but this car is simply outstanding nevertheless

It has a single clutch box, which shifts slower than all the other cars, that have a dual clutch box. But the single clutch box safes much weight, which gives better acceleration, brakeing and turning. So you have to decide which one you prefer, and Christian von Koenigsegg prefers the single clutch for this car.

Sutil control this monster like it a tame pet, Awesome! One sound quite heavy but IMO it lack of fascination unlike Huayra or Veyron engine sound. BTW Thank for great video Tim.
