Hey Tucker im thinking about doing a subframe from a 78 firebird on my GMC truck. I think it would ride a lot better and to get her down on the ground more. Hope all is well with you and yours hopefully will see you back one day. Always loved watching the videos you made. Take care 👍🏻🇺🇲
its funny your wife conplains of cold and what not where do you live im in east central illinois near mattoon and my wife hates cold weather too great vid i subbed to you keep the vids coming love these type of vids
Love the truck. I put a nova sub under a 33 Plymouth and added a front power steering rack. Nice work. I noticed your HF led light. I hated the fact that it won’t hang. I replaced the stand with a magnet ( from HF also) a now it will stick on the frame or side of car. Nice burn
Love the suicide doors on the 33 Plymouths bet it drove awesome with the sub ! Good idea with the lights , I don't think I'm going to get any more of that style because of the mounting
I was thinking of going this route but still haven’t decided yet. My truck runs with a straight 6 / 4 speed. I think I’ll ride it til it dies. It’s a cruiser for now
I got my eye on a nova front clip with a 6 cylinder and powerglide attached. Theres a craigslist add with new old stock S10 rear ends in various widths. Only thing is finding the truck. Id like that V8 power but i think that 6 cylinder would make a decent driver.
It is a little easier to take the front clip off but the first one I did years ago I left it on ! Planning on doing a 57 3100 next but I will definitely do a 48 to 54 hopefully soon
I have a question I bought a 1948 fleetline coupe and picked up a 1969 camaro front clip some told me that there's rear and front steering one of them is more work on the subframe.also once you install the front subframe how do you add the inner fenderwells and front clip on the truck and bumpers?
All it need is new valves springs harder retainer’s and locks why not springs that can handle 500 lift any Flat Tapped hydraulic cam and lifters pushrods and bore the cylinder walls and new rings depending for better driver ability any aluminum intake manifold and carburetor any piston’s for your taste basically
It only takes a couple days just remember to take lots of measurements and right them down there is plenty of reference points to go off of and she will drive straight as a string!
I bought the drivers side fender at a swap me and some one had frenched the old taillight into it , and the more I looked at it I liked it so I figured out that the the tail light was a 61 Plymouth valiant so I frenched one in to the passenger side to match !
It all sounds good n looks great but this is very difficult task ,much welding and lining up everything.does it drive straight, any dog legging. I wonder. God bless y'all real good.
just looking at your welds y can tell you did not pas you welding class . by the time you replace ball joints coil spring brakes rotors steering box on and on you are better off with a new drop in kit.you wont have floor pan problems and spend hours making body mounts and rad support mounts .the list is endless. in this country they wont safety your truck and no one should
307 have a lot in common with the 400 an and are very underestimated
Bonus points for the burnout!

Hello! I noticed the KS tag. I'm from KS too!
I was thinking of going this route but still haven’t decided yet. My truck runs with a straight 6 / 4 speed. I think I’ll ride it til it dies. It’s a cruiser for now
Great video .
Excellent!
Please do a video of this truck build . This is Awesome !
I wasn't doing any videos at the time I built it but I'm planning on doing another one simular shortly!

Thanks for the video, great job of explaining, really hoping you do one step by step soon, i would assume the the front sheet metal has to come off
It is a little easier to take the front clip off but the first one I did years ago I left it on ! Planning on doing a 57 3100 next but I will definitely do a 48 to 54 hopefully soon
Ok thanks I will be waiting with great anticipation
I'm doing the same this winter. Where did you measure to get everything straight and aligned right?
I have a question I bought a 1948 fleetline coupe and picked up a 1969 camaro front clip some told me that there's rear and front steering one of them is more work on the subframe.also once you install the front subframe how do you add the inner fenderwells and front clip on the truck and bumpers?
Hey Tucker, did you ever finish the blue goose?
I installed a 52 gmc 2 ton cab on a complete running gear out of a 2005 gmc 2wd chassis is was a pretty simple job
Heck ya probably made a nice driver out of it ! 👍
What you had to do to make it fit
What springs did you use
What year subframe doner is recommended?
All it need is new valves springs harder retainer’s and locks why not springs that can handle 500 lift any Flat Tapped hydraulic cam and lifters pushrods and bore the cylinder walls and new rings depending for better driver ability any aluminum intake manifold and carburetor any piston’s for your taste basically
They can diss the Chevrolet 307 V8 engine all they want but there’s potential for some performance and parts available
Hey good video ,,,about how many hours in this ? Thanks Ed Loretto Ontario Canada
It only takes a couple days just remember to take lots of measurements and right them down there is plenty of reference points to go off of and she will drive straight as a string!
Tell me about those rear fenders please. Whats the deal they are really cool?
I bought the drivers side fender at a swap me and some one had frenched the old taillight into it , and the more I looked at it I liked it so I figured out that the the tail light was a 61 Plymouth valiant so I frenched one in to the passenger side to match !
You didn't cover steering column hook up
Midnight flyer good job anyway to contact you and pick your brain
Is this truck for sale ????? 💵💵💵💵💵
It all sounds good n looks great but this is very difficult task ,much welding and lining up everything.does it drive straight, any dog legging. I wonder. God bless y'all real good.
She drives straight as a string ' there is plenty of reference points to measure from! Thanks
